Awesome place to get drinks and food. I’ve never had an old fashion quite like the one at this location. Plus their mini burgers are delicious. So much flavor in such a small burger. This place is a must if you are ever in New York City. Easy access. Its right by grand central station.

Wow– I am from the city of rude bartenders, but this is a new low. I came in a year ago, but am compelled to recall this incident. So I come in from a business meeting, and the bartender asks, «Will you be having the cheapest thing on the menu again?» As I have never been here before(and not since), I look confused, upon which he proceeds to speak to me like I don’t speak English. I’m Chinese American, born and raised in NYC. Very concerned that this lounge would hire ignorant, hostile staff. Maybe he was an imposter? Or he was using reverse psychology by making you feel insecure so you’ll put out in tips??? Needless to say, I cannot comment on the food or drinks, as I promptly left.

One of my favorite hotel bars located inside the Roosevelt hotel. I almost always sit at the bar and not in the plush looking chairs in the lounge. WHY? Because I always feel like service is much faster when the bartender is only 5 – 6 feet away from you. The drinks pack a punch. My derby lemonade tasted very much like bourbon. Prices are normal for NYC hotels– for ppl who complain about the price, well obviously you’re in the wrong place. It’s not a dive bar. It caters towards a certain clientele. The hotel also has a rooftop bar which i frequent when the temps get warmer. Until then, I’ll be sipping away at the bar.

Rudeness at 6:30 in the morning. Ordered 2 coffee and 2 small bakery bites. They didn’t let us toast or heat up. Used credit card to charge. I crossed out the tips section and put 0. Then wrote in the total. Lady behind the counter got pissed off and said«you don’t have to cross it out. I know you won’t tip…» There wasn’t any service provided. Why should I tip you for handing me coffee? I picked out the bakery products myself. Also, if I don’t cross out and write the total, does that mean you can write in anything after without me knowing?

The lounge is probably the most«luxurious» part of The Roosevelt. It has comfy chairs occupied by plenty of businessman and well dressed ladies. Upon stepping up the stairs, I was told I could sit anywhere and someone would be right with me. Fast forward a good fifteen minutes of me sitting ten feet from the host, and still not even a menu. I finally made eye contact with 1 of 3 or 4 of the staff tending to the well dressed men and women(c’mon I just landed and had no time to change!) I may have been in gym clothes, but they were clean and I was looking for food. Take my money darnit! I ordered a soup and lobster mac. I was given a glass of ice water that will not be refilled again. I also pulled up my Unilocal app to find that other patrons got delicious nuts to munch on. Ahem… I did not :( The seafood soup was delicious. Although the bits of seafood were rare to find, and there were plenty of potatoes, the flavors were on point. The lobster mac was a disappointingly tiny portion with less than desirable pieces of lobster meat(the claw tips which no one likes), and a not-so-cheesy cheese sauce. My order was entirely unfulfilling so I got the cheesecake as well. I thought New York was known for cheesecake – I could’ve gone to the cheesecake factory anywhere and gotten something tastier. The dessert that came out was grossly dry and strangely chewy. The saving grace were pieces of strawberry in sauce that saved my mouth from completely drying out(seeing as how no one refilled me water either). I asked a waiter nearby for my check. He walks away for ten minutes and finally refills me drink. Then he asks me if I wanted my check. umm… YES??? This place was terribly disappointing. The couches are comfy, but I’m at a hotel. I could just go up to my room for that.

Great drinks and comfy sofas! And the complimentary nuts were just as yummy.

There are many impressive, luxurious and/or cozy bars around midtown. The Madison Club Lounge felt less like an upscale lounge than a bunch of chairs and tables set up within the ornate lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel. The service was quite slow, despite the fact there were few tables occupied the afternoon we visited. Not a bad option if you’re staying in the area, but I didn’t feel it was anything to go out of your way to visit.

This place is so lovely for after work drinks! It’s very classy and full of plush, comfortable furniture. The drinks are good and reasonably priced but the service was a bit slow. Overall it’s a cozy, yet large and roomy spot for various types social of gatherings. And bonus, your company remains audible.

I love this place. Just off the fabulous lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel, it’s the perfect spot for a drink and a nibble. Cozy seating, dim lighting and good drinks. The nuts are delicious and plentiful. 3 of us split the slider trio and it was perfection. My family stays here when they visit, and I’d recommend the hotel, too.

A spacious bar with comfortable lounge chairs and a pool table, a whisky Old-Fashioned that’ll kick you in the ass and some good atmosphere. Throw on a nice shirt and do some crosswords in the NY Times or meet up with a lucky lady for a nightcap. Classsss… like the monopoly man with a monocle

No Sam Adams, you lose a star. The Butternut Squash Ravioli was awesome. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals. Cool upscale ambiance. A little pricey but it’s New York.

Midtown hotel lobby bar… terrible carpeting but big and comphy enough to be a decent spot for a winter after work drink… especially with the fireplace. Tons of seating. I try not to seek out hotel lobby bars, especially in NY, but this one is better than some other midtown locales. If you are looking for a more trendy/less traditional hotel bar, head over to the Roosevelt or Library hotel rooftops, or even the basement at Andaz. Indoor options? Check out one of the many good bars on 44th between 5th and 6th, including the very cool Lantern’s Keep.

This is a typical old school midtown hotel bar. It has an old New York feel that reminds one of the days past in the 60s and 70s. I definitely would not choose to go there to experience great cocktails rather just for its location. It did have rather large well made vodka martinis though as mentioned below. The Belvedere martini was quite good, though I was a little miffed they served a good martini with stuffed bottle olives. Good deli olives should have been mandatory. Good service however even though bar was packed with after work crowd. Was not a trendy ambiance at all with lighting being much too bright. So in the end, stop in if you want a quick mixed drink however they do not have a good cocktail menu.

EXCELLENT, LARGE dirty martinis here. Thus, I am a huge fan. The atmosphere feels very Mad Men. Love it.

GREAT drinks, YUMMY and FREE snack food, COURTEOUS and FUN service. DRINKS — I ordered a bellini, and I actually haven’t seen very many places in the city that just serve straight up bellini’s, so this was quite the treat!!! I loved it, and it was definitely more alcohol than I wished for, but I also have next to nothing tolerance(the sniff of alcohol will get me drunk. trust me.) I really enjoyed the bellini. We were also served like sugary coated nuts in a bowl that at first seemed like a small serving but were more than enough for my friend and I. ATMOSPHERE — I came here on a wet and icy Wednesday night in March around 6:45PM, the place wasn’t filled up but definitely had a healthy quantity of customers. The Madison Club Lounge was just the perfect place for a rainy, cold day. The chairs were large and loungey, cushiony, and very comfy. I love large, comfy, lounge chairs that are super comfortable. SERVICE — Very attentive, they will chat with you if need be or leave you alone. They are also very quick to bring your check, re-order, serve you drinks, and pick up your payment! The staff is also incredibly friendly. You seat yourself, but they are very attentive and wasted no time getting to us to initiate our first drinks. I highly recommend this place if you’re around the area and would like to pop in a very chill, low keyed, comfortable lounge-esque area for a quick drink. There is also a bar area as well for those bar lovers. My bellini was amazing, and the sugary peanut snacks were delicious! I would definitely love to get the recipe(or manufacturer) of the nuts. :] Rating: I would give it a 4/5, but I don’t find anything not appealing or not nice about the establishment. I dont LOVE it(I wouldn’t rave about it to a friend) but there also isn’t anything negative or even subpar to mention about this lounge. So 5 stars it is!

This place has a nice view of the NYC skyline, but the appetizers are more than appetizing. Drinks are fantastic! 1% coke and 99% rum. Gorgeous lounge and seating area.

When my office moved in the middle of tourist hell, I thought finding an after work bar was futile. My co-worker mentioned the hotel bar down the street. Hotel bar? I dunno. Much to my surprise, I like the old school charm of this upscale watering hole. Comfy couches, fire place, and big screen TVs complete with sports. A bit pricey on the drinks but, worth it. They even have a food menu but, you may be full on the nut mix. No one really bothers you here, it’s mostly tourists or convention goers. If you just want to wind down after work, this is the place. They opened up a roof bar last summer and it’s pretty cool too!
