Any place that makes art accessible is great! (Anyone who knows me knows that I have a serious art problem, and this is definitely going to feed that issue. :)) In all seriousness, am definitely planning to get a few gifts here for friends.

Lumas photographs ship from Germany. Mine is currently stuck in customs at JFK airport. It will likely be a week and a half late, or more. Not that happy about it.

What a disappointment. I was shopping for a friend’s birthday present on June 2nd & found the most amazing print at Lumas. It was pretty pricey so went for a walk to give it some thought. When I got back to the store it was 6:05 and they closed at 6:00. The woman who worked there was still there working on her computer. I begged her to open the store but she just smiled & said she had someplace to go. I ended up getting something else but when I walked past the store 15 minutes later she was just locking up.

Unfortunately I must recommend against Lumas.
I visited their Soho gallery and saw a photo I liked, but that was too small. I placed an order for a larger size at a cost of over $ 1,000. The photo was delivered about a week later, but unfortunately the print was too dark, missing lots of details and contrasts.
I contacted the gallery about it, and while they were courteous, they seem to have only been leading me on for weeks now about a potential replacement or refund. I sent them pictures for them to compare to their own website. A representative even came to my place to compare to the smaller piece I had seen in the gallery and he agreed the photo was problematic.
Since then (a few weeks), they have been «looking into it». Not the kind of service I would expect at this price level. Stay away.
