Honest opinion– food was fair at best. It was bland! The meat lacked flavor. For a cheese burger that costs $ 17, I want to walk away feeling like it was a good idea not going to shake shack, but I think I would’ve been better off going there. I also hate when restaurants start trying to be fancy with their condiments. They don’t carry Heinz ketchup, instead it’s some brand X hipster, we are the world, good for the environment crap. Give me a break. When I eat my soggy fries, and bland burger, I would atleast like to enjoy something I know is good. Give me some God damn Heinz! Am I going back? No. There was nothing there that made me tell myself, «damn, that was good. I’m coming here tomorrow». For that reason, there is no reason this place should get anymore than 3 stars.

I was skeptical of this place because of some of the poor reviews. However I loved it! Friendly staff quick service good menu and great food. A little pricey for brunch but very typical for this area.

Went there for brunch. Nice ambience, but okay food. Watered downed bloody marys. Once was enough.

Decided to do a spur of the moment brunch today. Checked out what reservations were available in the soho area and stumbled upon the cupping room café. Upon entering the place I noticed it was very noisy and that might be my only complaint. The restaurant is set up in a historic soho building and has a super cool antique/vintage design. The server was attentive and we got our food fairly quick. We had the custom egg Benedict with avocado, roasted peppers, bacon & cheese. It was amazing! For dessert we had some blueberry pancakes with whip cream also excellent. Yes this place is on the pricy side and also noisy but the interior design & food is def worth a visit.

Great service from a very attentive server. Inside it feels like you’re inside someone’s home in the suburbs. My veggie burger was decent, Brussel sprouts were excellent, and so was the baba ganoush. PROTIP: beers could gave been a little colder

My family and I were looking for a brunch place. I would say that the food was decent but a little overpriced. I had the stuffed French toast, they were good at first but way too sweet and heavy. We also ordered the almond croissant, it was delicious and only $ 4! This place isn’t terrible but I was a bit disappointed.

Who knows that brunch place turns into a live jazz & blue music bar at night. And the bonus is the cute bartender & waitress that dance with music and know their wines. Also there should s a cool vampire looking guy wears a cape reading a Japanese book next to me. A fun chill place for Friday night if you are just wondering around in Soho.

Highly recommend for lunch — they always have amazing salads, sandwiches and a plethora of breakfast options they serve until 5pm. The service is super friendly — if not a little slow — but I never mind because it gives me more time to catch up with who I’m dining with. Dinner was tasty — much smaller menu but additional daily specials that all sounded yummy. I had the salmon — very tasty. Overall really solid, dependable choice!

I loved the look of this café but the food was alright. I ordered the middle eastern platter– the hummus was meh: not gross but not good; i liked the babaganoush Sauce. This size was good but overall price was 16 dollars– which is a lot for pita, hummus, and babaganoush. I think the best decision i made was to drown the sauces with tabasco sauce. If i want some hummus, pita, and salad I’d go to «Bite» and get the med. salad(hummus was better and pita was warmer and softer than cupping room– overall meal so much cheaper!– no seats though) ½ the order of the Pita came out warm– while the other half was cold. — would i come back? Mmm maybe for our nice waiter Enrique(super nice) but not for the food.

This is a cute place to go for brunch. Their French toast was really good as was their eggs florentine. There is a decent amount of seating and cute portraits displayed around by local artists which I thought was cute. While service was a bit slow, if you have the time and want some real comfort food for brunch — this is the place to come to.

Went to Cupping Room for the first time a few weeks ago. All the food was excellent. We had eggs Benedict and the blueberry pancakes which we both agreed were some of the best blueberry pancakes we’ve eaten. After going here we went to Clinton St. Bakery because everyone was raving about their pancakes. In our opinion Cupping Room has their pancakes beat by a mile. Going back for brunch tomorrow. Can’t wait for pancakes! Went today. Blueberry pancakes. Epic.

I had made a reservation for 12pm on a Sunday and arrived at exactly noon to find my guest waiting for me. We checked in with the hostess and she said it would be a few minutes, you can have a seat at the bar — to which I replied, ‘no problem.’(Note, I took a seat about 20 feet from where she was standing.) After a half hour, I walked over to the hostess to check in and she said we were next on the list. So, back to the bar I went. After another 20 minutes, the hostess was walking passed me and I stopped her to ask what the status of my RESERVATION for NOON was(it was 12:50p at this point), and she looked at her clipboard and very rudely said, we called you and you didn’t respond.(I WAS20FTFROMHER, and heard every other name she called out.) Annoyed, we chose to stay at the bar and order food. Here’s where it gets fun… We ordered food and when it was served it looked a bit messy, but was actually good. I had ordered a side of toast and low and behold I lifted up the top piece and there was an actual BITE taken out of the bottom piece. This was not flawed bread — this was a bite!(To which I was comped a mimosa, but I was pretty disgusted at that point.) The staff was dipping glasses into the ice bins(illegal), the champagne glasses were filthy — I mean, come on people. This is 101. The bartender was lovely — but I will never visit this restaurant again.

3.5 stars The drinks came out quickly, but the food took quite a while. First, their drinks. They aren’t watered down which is great, but the taste of Prosecco overpowers any of the other flavors that are supposed to be in the drink. Secondly, the food. The potatoes were good. The Eggs Florentine were alright, but could have used a bit more flavor. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly though, unlike my friend’s over easy eggs which were way over cooked. They wait for a table was long, so we sat at the bar. Plus: there are coat hooks on the wall near us! The service is nice, but you likely have to flag them down for their attention.

I took to Trip Advisor to look up some great places to eat while visiting the lovely city of New York and Cupping Room was a top suggestion for brunch. Absolutely worth it! I’d made a reservation online so I didn’t have to deal with the wait that would’ve been a part of my visit had I not had one. However for those that waited, it appeared they were seated in no time. I decided to go with the French Toast Orgy — yummy brioche french toast, with just the right amount of sweetness accompanied by a fruit medley, syrup and your choice of whip cream, sour cream, or ice cream. It took everything in my soul not to go with the ice cream and choose whip cream. *sigh* I also ordered the house potatoes which were small pieces of potatoes cooked with onions and peppers. Perfect accompaniment! The service was lovely and the environment of a small, quaint café along a cobblestone road was even better.

The Cupping Room Café is one of those places that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. I stumbled upon this adorable little brunch spot while looking to grab a bite before a day of shopping in SoHo and boy am I glad I did. The wait for 2 was about 10 minutes around 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon because the place was packed! the interior is extremely warm with exposed brick, animal art, and a sky light if you’re seated towards the back of the restaurant. The menu isn’t huge or anything to write home about– but what they do serve, they do well. I got a simple 2 eggs sunny side up with a side of bacon(and by side I mean 5 huge strips of bacon), and a side of home fries. The brunch was excellent as was their iced coffee! All though as we were leaving I noticed a bunch of people with Bloody Mary’s that looked fab. It’s a great place to take out-of-towners if you’re in the area. PS– Major points for setting the table with both tabasco and sriracha, for all you hot sauce fans out there.

Note: I’m only giving Cupping Room 3 stars because I’ve been going there for many many years now and finding the same unchanging menu it has become tiring and uninspired to me. My favorite is their French Toast stuffed with cream cheese and nuts with fresh fruit on the side. I’ve had this at least a dozen times over the course of a decade so unfortunately any good thing becomes blasé. However, if you’ve never been there before it is a rock solid choice for brunch in Soho.

Mmmm, I had a good breakfast here :) After waiting in the Cronut line nearby, some friends and I decided to have some real food. Thank goodness this place was open so early! At around 9AM, it wasn’t too packed but there were still a good amount of customers. When you first walk in it seems a bit small. Then you walk past the bathrooms and it feels like you’ve walked into someone’s home — very cozy and had a nice décor. Since we had just eaten a bit, my boyfriend and I split the traditional Eggs Benedict(complete with Canadian bacon and an English muffin) with home fries(which can be switched out for French fries or a salad). I also has a great tasting mimosa to go with it. The food was so good! I enjoyed breaking the yolk, which was perfectly cooked. It came with a lot of hollandaise, my fave! I was able to cut my eggs Benny and eat it without being too messy. There was a good portion of home fries which were seasoned well and not too hard like most places. Service was good — our server was attentive and friendly to all of us. We were started off with water right away, and our food and drinks came out quickly. I would definitely come back here.

We are not beyond redemption. And even a hardheaded grudge-holding Scorpio can learn to forgive. If these statements are taken and seen as true… perhaps there is hope. Though the initial paragraph may seem un-befittingly heavy and grandiloquent(given the subject matter of this review), I just felt the need to stress that I am capable of giving second chances even if you don’t apologize… and the Cupping Room Café is a location, not a person, rendering it incapable of apologizing, let alone speaking. I guess I am just further pointing to how gracious I was to consider giving this place a second chance; in the end though, it would be hypocritical of me not to give second chances, I’ve received my fair share of them… and I(rightfully) deserve a few more if I do say so. Now that all of that nonsense is out of the way, I was prompted to revisit old territory at the behest of one time Brooklyn Unilocaler(but forever a Unilocal all star) who we will call Ms. D. Entertained by my previous scathing(and rare) two star review, she took a chance on the place for brunch. My criticisms in the previous review centered on the lack of finesse in preparation of the eggs as well as overall plating; luckily, Ms. D has no love for eggs, so my negative review was of no consequence to her. Ms. D’s brunching experience was pleasant enough that she convinced me to try the Cupping Room Café once more; the idea of redemption, a la the return of King James to Cleveland(super noble and humble act for you haters), is a story that never gets old… and one that everyone loves. I ordered the same thing as I did from 2 – 3 years back, albeit with a different choice of protein: two sunny side up eggs, skillet potatoes, and bacon(as opposed to the dried up sausage I ordered those years ago). By virtue of better plating… +1 star. Look at the pictures, see for yourself; they did much better with presentation this time. The eggs though… did they succeed??? Well, if they got a four star review, then they must have right??? Two golden and runny yolks served as the crown jewels on my plate. Good job Cupping Room Café. Better execution this time around, combined with reasonable prices and a charming and homey interior make for a pleasant brunching experience. You’re batting .500 right now, if this was baseball then those would be Hall of Fame numbers. It’s not baseball though, so let’s see how you do next time… you deserve a next time. Also, they followed me on Instagram ^_^

Heads up – mouthwatering fries! My mother and I were looking for a nice restaurant to eat and catch up before seeing a show. We agreed on the Cupping Room because they were just about to switch to their dinner menu. After entering the back entrance –which easily looks like the front entrance(maybe they can put a sign lol) we were seated anywhere we liked. The inside décor is nice, good for casual and at most dressy-casual attire. We both decided on burgers(14 – 16 –she got one with goat cheese). You can also add toppings to your burger. No later than 20 minutes our food was out and hot. I usually just pick at my fries– this time it was the fries that won over the burger. Shortly after finishing we got two cappuccinos and a red velvet cake. Sadly we disliked the red velvet cake. It tasted dry and like it has been refrigerated uncovered. Overall the service was lovely and the food itself was tasty. Would I come back? Yes but skip the dessert next time. Cat rate: 3.5

Alles schmeckt hier besser, einmaliger. Die vielen verschiedenen Backwaren sind ein Traum!
