I came in a few days ago with my mom and had a wonderful experience at this store! We really just wanted to buy the hand cream, but the sales assistant, Annely, went out of her way to show us the different products. We didn’t end up buying the face cream we tried too, but it was such a relaxing break from the cold. Thank you Annely!

I am not the kind of person who regularly frequents soap shops, but come the holiday season one often finds oneself in these kind of stores looking for overpriced smelly stuff to keep granny happy. I was in the New York SOHO branch with my wife and 12 month old daughter and had — what I can only describe as — the worst shopping experience ever. While waiting for my wife to pay at the register i was confronted by a very well dressed 6’6″ man who gruffly demanded that I empty my pockets as he suspected I had stolen something. When I asked if he was kidding he gave me a terrifying look and sternly told me no. This man looked like he would be better positioned at the door of a violent nightclub and be tasked with separating inebriated young men from their weapons of choice. After I emptied my pockets he simply turned and walked away — no apology, no holiday wishes, nothing. Oh and did I mention that my 12 month old was in between this ominous threatening man and me? I then called to my wife to ask her to leave the goods she was buying, but it was too late. Needless to say the next time I am considering buying soap for someone of the older generation this will absolutely be the last place I go. The owners and managers of this store should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I hope I never get accused of stealing in front of my child again. If you are an employee of L’Occitane and are reading this, thinking it didn’t happen in my store why is he posting it here — the answer is I was unable to get through your bureaucratic firm to find anyone to complain to — so I am posting this on ALL your Unilocal listings.
