Live cockroach in my coffee! I never take the time to write reviews on Unilocal.But, just had to let everyone know of our experience here. My boyfriend and I got a coffee from here this morning and decided we didn’t want the rest of it. When we poured the rest of the coffee out into the sink, a live cockroach came out along with it. If there’s cockroaches in the coffee, it really makes you wonder what may/​could be in all that food that is sitting out.

Decent place. It’s local which is nice. The beer is expensive. If your missing one grocery store item or just need some basic stuff come here if your too lazy to take a longer walk. They have pizza, sandwiches, and subs in the back and the guys are all nice there. The pizza is really wide lol which is interesting but it’s a pretty good slice. I wouldn’t go out of my way for a slice but if I ended up here and was craving pizza then this places pizza would hit the spot!

The prices are ok, the portions are on the small side, and they’re constantly forgetting something whether it be part of your order or condiments that you asked for. Every single order I’ve placed for delivery has ALWAYS been missing something.

Great Sandwich spot. Real Nice people, great Delivery even when you live 8 feet away and are hung over, they do not judge. Anyone who says anything negative is a baboon. Yes Baboon.

Whoever usually answers the phone there is always rude. I called numerous times for deliveries and the people working there don’t seem to know their products and are too lazy to go look. I asked for a certain product and they told me they don’t sell it even though I saw it earlier that day, right near the front counter. When you ask them to look they give you an attitude. Very poor work ethics!!!

Great place for a quick pick up of breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Food from the grill is always fresh! A good, simple assortment of groceries as well.

Good quick delivery in Stuytown — good coffee.

This place is so unfortunate. I live across the street and when I first moved here, I ordered from them all the time. They never got my order correct. Not once. I gave them some time to get better, about six months, and tried again today. It was a pick up order, not delivery and they managed to mess it up THREE TIMES. I had to go back they still messed it up. I ordered scrambled eggs, scrambled with onions and cheese, with a side of bacon and rye toast with jam. At first they gave me scrambled eggs, potatoes and rye toast with no jam. I went back, they gave me jam after arguing with me that I had butter and jam in the bag. I let them view the contents and they reluctantly gave me the condiments. I go home and realize they forgot the bacon. I go back and this time they ask me to wait and then gave me an omelet with bacon inside of it (which I didn’t realize at the time). I leave to go back home and realize there is no side of bacon. I go back, they say the bacon is in the omelet. I say read the ticket: scrambled eggs, with a SIDE OF BACON. The bacon was for my dog. It’s small things, but the way they correct their mistakes is unfortunate. They’re rude and they don’t ask, they assume. It’s insane over there. I can’t tell you how many times I have picked up the wrong order or had the wrong order delivered. If you’re adventurous, go for it. If you want what you want, then don’t order from here. And honestly the food isn’t even good. I’ve never had anything from here was considered even «good». It’s all just food that tastes fine enough to not be hungry. I couldn’t even finish the eggs I just bought (the omelet they gave me) b/​c it was dry and the onions they put in there were sliced so large, it was too spicy to eat. The potatoes were dry and flavorless. It’s a nice place to go into and buy smaller groceries, they have great options for a quick need, but leave the food ordering for other places. Trust me!

The sandwiches and pizza are amazing! I’ve only ever had extremely pleasant experiences with the guys behind the counter. I get the feeling if you’re a jerk, then they’ll be jerks, which I can’t blame them for. Anyway, they cater and give you so much more food than the other restaurants around, and anyone who uses them always keeps them. Amazing spot!

Its always there and if u need something quick and easy like toilet paper or a sandwich. This is no gourmet joint so dont set ur expectations high. They have good pizza and i wish they sold more fruits and veggies. Got a B grade from the city.

Aways reliable and if there is a mistake they go back and right it promptly. Always nice to me
Delivery guys are very fast and aim to please no matter the weather or if its close to closing time they have never said no to me! Open till 11pm from 7 am!

Very convenient. Friendly. It’s fine. Been coming here for soooo many years, and they’re always nice, the food is very fresh and there are a TON of home-​cooked items to choose from. And the prices are VERY good, especially compared to midtown. The wrap you get for $ 6.45 is twice the size of sandwiches offered by most delis in NYC. Just a great place.

worst food ever, not updated menu… do not order from here!

This place is the closest bodega to my apartment, so I frequent it a lot, as Stuy Town has zero other places (I’m closer to the river than 1^st). The staff here is really nice and really friendly. Their sandwiches are good, and if I need half & half one morning before I take a shower, I don’t think twice about running over to buy a carton. I also use their ATM when I am running late (always) and need cash for something, and can’t make it down to the McDonalds free ATM. The stock is a tad lacking in diversity, so I do sometimes run over to the Gristedes on 1^st if they don’t carry something. I like having Lenz’s and I hope they stay as long as I stay.

In terms of the food I really only got turkey clubs which were standard. Nothing to write home about. Sometimes a chicken cutlet sandwich which was modest for the price. But it’s the service that’s pretty sub-​standard.
I live near by and probably considered a regular, but when the guy behind the counter gives me a «Buddy you need to speak up if you want two sandwiches» with a huge attitude as if I’m a dick, instead of a «Sorry I didn’t hear you. Give me one second,» that’s when I’ll walk a little further to another place for the same quality food. (probably better)

I ordered the eggplant parmesan and peppers steak platter which were priced $ 4.95 and $ 5.95, respectively but it turned out these prices were incorrect. They are actually $ 5.95 and $ 6.49, respectively. Lenz never called me to inform me about the price mistake = Minus one star.
Delivery time from other restaurants located further than Lenz take 20 to 30 minutes while Lenz took over 50 minutes = Minus one star.
A pet peeve of mine is asking me to sign without providing a pen. Lenz and New Ashiya are notorious for this = Minus one star.
My peppers steak platter is suppose to come with rice and buttered roll. My buttered roll was probably eaten by the deliverer = Minus one star.
Lenz, you need to fix these issues, pronto. I’m not ordering from you in a year and I mean it.

We attempted to order two calzones and a salad on a Saturday via
. After almost an hour’s wait, we called to confirm they received our order. The employee replied, «Yeah we got it,» then hung up on me.
I called back about 10 minutes later asking when our food would arrive. They placed me on hold for two minutes then said it would be another 20 minutes until we’d get our food. The employee was very nice when I told him we’d have to cancel the order.

Love the deli sandwiches from this place. Also love the fact that I can get a sandwich, beer, cigs, and dish soap all delivered to my place super fast. Hands down… the best corner deli around!

Lenz is your standard deli with Sandwiches, wraps, some hot food, pizza, water, soda, and a very small selection of grocery items. For breakfast I occasionally order delivery to the office for egg sandwiches or muffins, the service is speedy and the delivery guys are sweet. Usually for lunch if I grab a sandwich I’ll take the walk over and order. Be aware that lunch time it becomes busy at points since there is the ConEd yard and lots of construction workers within the apartment complexes whom all love their sandwiches!
You won’t be disappointed. It’s quick, friendly service, and decent food on the go. They just recently remodeled inside and for the summer they put seats outside the store front.
