This place is just around the corner from my hotel. Delicious bagel early in the morning! I NY! I had a toasted plain bagel with scallion cream cheese. The bagel is incredibly light, if that even makes sense. Worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. Since I went pretty early in the morning, service was super fast.

I like bagels. I don’t love bagels. I popped in here a smoked salmon bagel sandwich. It was about $ 8, which is expensive for a bagel, but less expensive than most salmon bagels I’ve had. Salmon was good. The tomatoes tasted fresh. The bagel itself was light and fluffy, not dense and heavy like the kind that require a lot of chewing time. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The service for a late Saturday morning was pretty fast. It does make me wonder why Absolute Bagels gets that ridiculously long line.

Good bagels, bad service. Cream cheese to bagel ratio is AWFUL –if you pay for cream cheese, you should get cream cheese, no?

Okay, first off, to the woman who complained about being charged $ 5 for a bagel with one slice of American cheese… that was a tax imposed for ordering an abomination. The bagels are great and the prices are decent if you’re sticking to the basics(this is a bagel place, not a deli… order your turkey elsewhere). That’s it. That’s all you need.

Great bagels with horrific service. The lines don’t make sense, the workers don’t care and they skip you for easier orders. I’ve been going four times a week for six years and have had enough. Apparently six plain bagels in a bag was too cumbersome of an order. Go to Absolute. Long wait as well but at least they care about customers, Lenny’s just lost one for good.

Negative 0 The worst bagels in NYC I went to Lenny’s bagels because it got 4 stars from Unilocal.Needed to pick up 12 bialys for the holiday and wanted to pick up the best for my family. Well they went into the back and gave me a dozen and when I got home I saw that they were FROZEN! Unbelievable Unacceptable. Oh another thing — the store was filthy. I’m giving 1 star only because I can’t post without adding something.

Best bagels on UWS. Lines always long but they are quick. Live the lox cream cheese. Try the«my-ex» bagel if you’re into spicy.

You can smell the bagels baking in the morning when you walk in. They are so delicious. We had honey wheat everything bagels, and are so grateful for bakers who make healthy wheat bagels with toppings too. It’s so frustrating when a place only has plain wheat with no toppings.

Four stars because the bagels are pretty delicious. Deducted one star for bad service. I was only one of three customers, but the cashier was very brusque with me and couldn’t even keep with my one request for onions in my turkey bagel sandwich. Sigh… No onions in a sandwich… Fine place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. They have a few seats if you want to eat and go.

When I moved here I figured there’d be good bagels everywhere because a) it’s New York and b) it’s the UWS. Sadly that proved not to be the case. But thanks to some recommendations I hiked the 20+ block round trip to Lenny’s and I have to say, these are the best I’ve found yet. Unfortunately the distance will prevent me from going here too often(saving my waistline for sure) but it’s good to know when the craving hits there is somewhere up here I can find a good bagel.

We recently moved just around the corner from Lenny’s Bagels so we decided to give them a try this morning. The bagels are .95 cents a piece and there are a variety of flavors(most of which are vegan suitable), they also offer a gluten free and low carb option for those looking for that sort of thing. They have a whole menu of spreads to choose from including dairy free(vegan) spreads, which they have several flavors of! My husband and I both got a toasted onion bagel with tofuti chive cream cheese. First off, the tofuti cream cheese isn’t actually made out of tofu that’s simply the name of the company that makes the product. It actually tastes amazingly close to the real deal, you really can’t even tell the difference. I appreciated the fact that they loaded the bagel full of the cream cheese so you really felt like you were getting your moneys worth. The bagel was nice, flavorful and very tasty. We definitely plan on coming back for breakfast in the future! TIP: If you buy a dozen bagels during the week you get 6 free!

Lenny’s is definitely a go-to bagel spot in the Manhattan Valley area. While I can’t say the bagels are as good as Absolute just up the way, the staff here are super nice and efficient. Prices are comparable to other bagel places in the city, and you can tell that the locals still really dig this spot.

This place is my favorite bagel spot in NYC! Great hole in the wall with incredible bagels with a lot of cream cheese. Their tuna is great too! Wouldn’t go anywhere else… P.S: Get the everything bagel toasted!

We’ve been going here for over 10 years. Amazing fresh bagels made all morning long. They taste the way a bagel should. Great variety. Love this place.

It’s such a shame that I have to give these people 1 star but the service and quality is HORRENDOUS! I went for a quick breakfast with my boyfriend this morning and each overpaid for bagels with basically nothing on them. He paid $ 5 for a bagel with American cheese and got 1(ONE!) slice of cheese on it. When he brought it back to the counter and asked for more, the owner wanted to charge him an additional $ 3! Who charges $ 5 for or slice of American cheese?! Then the owner argued over the extra cost, saying that we don’t pay rent for this location so we wouldn’t understand. It was totally ridiculous. All of this arguing for some extra cheese. The staff and owners are really rude and have absolutely no customer service whatsoever. I used to love this place. Not anymore. It’s a shame.

Bizarrely green scallion cream cheese… they also apparently charge you extra to toast, cut, and put spread on your bagels, what?

Before I start here, I know how hard it is to be up at a reasonable hour for breakfast on the weekend, but if you sleep in too late for this one, all the good bagel flavors are gone. What’s WORSE is that all the kids are running a muck in the store after their weekly soccer game(orange peels in their mouths’ and all). So do yourself a favor and be here before 11. Also this is not the REAL Lenny’s with the yellow and blue logo, this is just named after another individual who also happens to be named Lenny. Probably some bagel universe coincidence. The bad boy bagel with bacon, egg and cheese is what keeps me hooked. Gooey, caloric, and just enough garlic to stop everyone on the street from walking close to you. Best case scenario on a UWS Saturday morning. The staff is pretty friendly but you definitely get that cluster-you-know-what situation while waiting in limbo between ordering and paying. Take this time to browse the orange juice selection or all the bizarro fish salads you can pile on your bagel. Plenty of unique bagel flavors to choose from and searing hot coffee make this place a great pit stop or big trip out of the apartment on a weekend day!

My bagel with butter had taste of salmon which was my wife’s order. They don’t wipe off the king enough for next customer? What could happen if I am a fish allergy? Also next person who ordered just a cup of tap water with glass for her child and was charges for $ 2. ??? Not a store with four stars…

This is my favorite spot for a quick lunch when I’m in the UWS. The bagels are ok but the tuna salad and the shrimp and crab meat are delicious! The staff is very nice and smiling, the price is ok($ 5.95 but a lot of stuffing as you can see from the picture). ‘So why only 3 stars?’ you may ask. Well, if you decide to go there to eat, good for you, you’ll have a tasting experience, but don’t go to the bathroom, not even to wash your hands: it is dirty, it stinks, but not from other people’s … It reminded me the famous scene from Trainspotting«the worst toilet of all Scotland». Gross.

I just moved to the UWS and realized I’m really close to Lenny’s Bagels! I love Lenny’s Bagels — sometimes you just want a cream cheese fix on carbs, ya know? I don’t do dairy, so I particularly appreciate that Lenny’s has four(!!) tofu flavors: plain, scallion, veggie, and sundried tomato. Veggie is my favorite though. I haven’t really explored beyond their bagel menu but that’s next on my list.
