Decent food, nothing special, but good. But they understaffed, it took hours to get our food, and i am still waiting for the check as i write this review(it’s been over 30 mn…). If you dont have anything to do in the next 3 hours, you can go there. If not, you probably shouldn’t. Oh, and we weren’t told but they can only accept cash right now. Just don’t go there.

Ordered Vindaloo take-out the other day. It was really bad; lamb was so tough and the sauce tasted like they just took some bottle marina and added some Indian spices. $ 17 and I threw away the dish after a small helping. A waste of money :(

The staff(one guy) is just wonderful. He advised us to have the cauliflower, which was terrific. Then, we did not see much of him. We were the only diners in the place & I believe the chef was thawing out the chicken & lamb as fast as he could. The rice was absolutely perfect. The curries were dull. They had chilies in them but they were not properly spiced. I took them home. The waiter gave us fresh rice & the carry-out dishes were microwavable & reusable. I put more tamarind in the lamb curry & it was very good. Why couldn’t the chef do that? They did a lot of delivery business & the bathrooms were very clean: two pluses. And the service was considerate, if not overly attentive. The chef just has to spice properly & the place will be okay.

Really enjoyed this place. My wife and I came here on Sat after reading very positive Unilocal reviews. We started with the Chicken 65 which was moist and flavorful as well as some vegetable samosas which were average-sh/not memorable. For entrees we shared the Chicken Tikka Masala and the veggie Jalfrezi both of which came with rice. Both were tasty though next time I would ask for a bit more«heat». We also shared a garlic naan which was above average and roti. Service was excellent and the ambiance was nice, clean and fun(bollywood movies/music playing throughout). We will be back.

Amazing service, first and foremost. The bartender/waiter was such a great guy and made our meal terrific. The food was quite good, as well. They are great about accommodating special requests for the food which is definitely appreciated. Definitely recommended as a great spot for Indian food in the LES

Delicious and unique food! The price is right too. I just have to say that the service was awkward– literally– but everything else was fine. Love the appetizers. Bread and soup need more salt. Our server was very nice but not attentive. Its ok. We still had a great meal.

Really excellent. The place was empty, which was disconcerting, but the food was really really good. We ordered three dishes, lemon rice, and a naan for two of us and we finished it all. This and Masalawala are my go-to Indian places in the hood now. Check-in for a free glass of wine!

This was a spur of the moment dinner right before our gig at the Parkside Lounge. Everything was cooked to perfection and served in a very timely manner. The server was sharp and took good care of us. The lamb, chicken and veg dishes were all great.

Small place, very clean and modern. We stumbled into it before bar hopping. It is slightly pricey for the smaller portion, however we didn’t leave the place feeling bloated and disgusted for eating too much. I wish this place was closer! Samosa chaat– amazing. It was a smashed samosa with chickpeas over a tamarind sauce. Chicken vindaloo– also superb. I think it has a stronger tamarind base which I loved. Chicken kondapul– coconut curry with Indian herbs spices. So good. I’ve never tasted something like this. Naan– super fluffy with edges that were slightly crispy. It came with 2 full pieces that were cut into smaller pieces. They also gave us complimentary mango lassies.

Food was delivered timely and still hot. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and a side of butter naan. The Tikka Masala sauce was creamy and flavorful, however, the chicken wasn’t very well prepared. Many of the chicken chunks were rubbery and dry. The naan was delicious and soft. Overall, food was eh but I will most likely give it another try.

Love this place! Must try the Chicken Madras and khusbo Ghobi. The owner/waiter is also very attentive and nice… I usually leave with a lassi on the house

Amazing food, great service and a chill atmosphere. I suggest stopping by and eating in! They have 50% off on beer AND wine going on right now. Bros, 25% off on lunch special, and they have really good deals and they take care of the customer! What are you waiting for? Get in there!

The best Indian I’ve eaten in the city and I’ve tried a lot of places. I probably eat here once a week! My favorite is the chicken vindaloo with garlic naan! Also every single person who works here is so nice that you can easily become friends with them!

They currently have a 50% deal for the summer, where(yes, you read that correctly) all their menu(even non-alc drinks) are half off! A pretty great deal for anywhere in Manhattan, especially with so many other options on the LES. Check-in on Unilocal!to get 2 free vegetable pakora! We were the only ones in the restaurant for the first half of our meal, and our server was amazing. Super accommodating, patient, kind, not over-bearing, but attentive. Everything you could ask for in waiter service. My date ordered a mango lassi and was delighted. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, and he ordered the salmon tikka. Both dishes took 20 minutes or so to prepare, but whwn you cook using a tandoor oven and the food is fresh, I don’t mind! The salmon tikka was very good, and a steal for $ 10. Don’t know that I would pay the full $ 19 for it, though. The chicken tikka masala was sadly disappointing — so sugary sweet that I almost couldn’t eat it. It did have huge chunks of quality white meat though, so I just ate those with the veggies. The garlic naan was so fluffy and flavorful, I recommend getting it! Normally, I would take off a star for the overly sweet curry, but I would just get the chicken tikka dry next time. I think they deserve 5 stars for what happened next… An older lady walked in, a bit unsure. She had wavered between Khushboo & a thai place next door, and had come in to ask our waiter some questions. He was kind to her, and she sat down. She was by far one of the most difficult customers I could ever imagine having as a waiter, and this guy was a true gentleman, no matter what. When I say this lady was being ridiculously needy and a bit rude, I am not kidding. I don’t think she understood how Indian food works. Her first question was about dessert — did they have Green Tea or Pineapple Ice cream to make her a milkshake? Uh. what? When she finally ordered(with many questions), she was so crazy about having 6 different chutneys and sauces to add to her chicken tikka. If you know anything about Indian food, you know that chicken isn’t meant to be eaten with coconut chutney, but she insisted. Then, she asked for a side of the curry that goes with chicken tikka masala. Then, she asked for separate plates for all her food. Then she asked for a special onion salad that our waiter went and made himself in the kitchen, and didn’t charge her for it. She even asked if she was being served«white rice», and our waiter said«yes, it’s basmati», and she said«oh, looks like white rice.» Then, she decided she wanted to move by the window and our waiter moved all of her dishes over. She was difficult, and our waiter was nothing but kind, easy going, and helpful. When our meal was over, we ordered 2 chais. We asked if we could get them to go, and our sweet waiter brought over to-go cups with boiling hot, delicious chai. The whole meal was only $ 30, which is pretty incredible. I would come back in a heartbeat, but will stick to just the tandoor oven specialties.

This place was great! I live a few doors down and was hesitant to try at first but with the 50% off deal all summer long my boyfriend and I had to try it. Now we will definitely be back, deal or no deal it’s worth it. We had veggie samosas which were on the salty side but delicious. We also had Saag paneer, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan(obviously taking advantage of the deal) everything was great! Vindaloo was spicy, masala creamy and saag earthy. Nan was fluffy and delicious. Service was great and we had lots to bring home! Two meals for half the price of one! Give it a shot guys!

Favorite Curry spot, but it breaks the bank. Most run about $ 16-$ 18 a curry and their apps are so delicious that you have to get at least one. Very authentic with a modern twist. I have tried almost everything on the menu but the Lamb Rogen Josh and Chicken Madras are excellent. The Cauliflower is a must try… seriously I have dreams about it. 25% off your meal at lunch! The take out is fast and delicious but I recommend eating in because the ambiance is really cool and the staff is amazing. They have a full wall mural and play Ballywood music video’s. They do not serve alcohol.

Went here for my sisters birthday in les. LES has amazing places, so its hard to pick just one. I decided on this after the Unilocal reviews and they didnt disappoint. At first glance, it doesn’t look that appealing because it wasn’t as busy as other nearby restaurants. Great service, the pakoras were a great appetizer you get when you check in. Got two extra for free because we were a group of four. The chicken tikka masala was a little sweeter than id like but we still devoured it. Ordered the konglapul but made it vegetarian and it was amazing. Very different in taste. Overall, great food, not too heavy for indian which is great. Not spicy, wish it was a bit though. Would def cone here again, loved the murals on the wall too.

I was dissatisfied with my first order(delivery) from here… so, they mailed me a voucher for a $ 40 dinner for two. My boyfriend and I went in last night to try it out again. I will say that the service and environment is great. It was relaxing, well-lit, and very welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive and sweet. However, the food is not worth it — I’m pretty sure that they don’t use Indian spices and if they do, you can’t tell. The food is salty and bland. I ordered the same thing that we ordered the first time — a lamb Vindaloo, Chana Saag, and chicken Samosas. For $ 45+ dollars… I was very disappointed… again. I’m giving them 4 stars just because of their hospitality. They went above and beyond as far as customer service goes. I don’t think I’ll be back because I am not into salty Indian dishes.

This place was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. We had originally planned to go to The MasalaWala, but when we arrived, it was closed for renovations. Disappointed and still very much in the mood for Indian food, I searched Unilocal nearby and found Khushboo. As it is a newcomer, it had few reviews, but those that were positive compelled us to give this place a try, and we are glad we did. We did not order very much, and really kept to the simpler/more Westernized items on the menu(tikka masala, for example), but most of it was well prepared. I changed my rating to three stars only because the tikka masala sauce lacked complexity, was sweet, and a bit bland. The quality of chicken in it was good, however. The chicken tikka(tandoori/grill) dish was very good, and portions are generous. The dahl was good, as was the butter naan and the milk dumplings for dessert. I would like to return to try their street food, and perhaps even their lunch special(a good deal at about $ 10). Based on this experience, Khushboo seems like a solid go-to for simple Indian fare. The atmosphere is cute, the menu selection decent and prices reasonable. It is very clean inside, and most noteworthy of all, the staff was incredibly sweet and attentive.
