I went there with my friend last summer and had Takoyaki(it was really good) and of course my Boba Tea. It was nothing too crazy in terms of décor but I always felt comfortable there and service was always friendly. Sad to see it now has shut it’s doors. I wanted to try the Taiwanese Sausage :(

There wasn’t too much to choose from for the savory treats, so I just ordered the green onion pancake with curry. The pancake tasty– Very thin and extremely crispy– and not as oily as usually so that was a plus. Also the curry had a nice flavor to it and wasn’t at all spicy. It came with potatoes which was yummy. I ordered a special dessert that consisted of Taiwanese shaved ice topped with green tea ice cream, condensed milk, red bean, mochi of varying colors, mango, strawberry and kiwi. Such a delightful combination of flavors, textures and colors! All the ingredients came together beautifully and the condensed milk brought everything together perfectly. It was delectable!

Quite a variety of desserts. The crepes are okay; I’ve had better. The shaved ice are okay. Too much shaved ice and not enough toppings. Overall, you can’t go wrong with dessert. The price is decent too.

It’s a nice place to sit and chat with your friends over dessert. However, it’s a nice place to sit and chat bc it’s usually not that busy. The food is not bad but it’s nothing amazing. You can find much better tasting dessert elsewhere in the city.

thai ice tea was way too sweet. Icecream parfaits & icecream shaved ice weren’t so bad. Slow service & awkward server

Ordered a kimchi noodle soup, so I got a honey green bubble tea for $ 1~ The pricing is pretty good. I found this place to be very nice to go out for lunch with friends. They have so many tasty sweets here like shaved ice and crepes — even smores! Definitely gotta come back and try it someday. The kimchi beed soup was very bland. All i tasted was spicy water. Did they forget to add flavor or something? If they had added some seasoning, it would have been delicious. The bubble tea is good, the bubbles though, a little too soft.

It was nice that they were open late until 1am on a Saturday. We stopped by for some bubble tea and chatted for a bit until they closed. I don’t think the place was the cleanest(a few bugs flying around), but the bubble tea was not bad.

Some of worst food we’ve ever had. We both feel physically sick. The ingredients tasted cheap, old and defrosted. We couldn’t finish anything. The chicken mushroom dumplings turned out to be shrimp and pork and were very hard/chewy. The ramen noodles in the eel/vegetable and beef ball/vegetable soups were 10cent lo mein noodles(not ramen), the soup stock was chicken bouillon powder mixed in water. The veggies were all wilted. The eel was off. The fried calamari was stringy, tasteless rubber rings. The grass jelly in the iced soy milk tasted exactly like burnt plastic. The black milk bubble tea had lots of spongy inedible chunks(of something??) floating in it. The shaved ice was ok… our stomachs hurt so much we could barely touch it. I would avoid eating here, it’s such a rip off and will make you feel horrible afterwards.

This place has consistently gone downhill since it first opened. Before, it was a pretty cute and modern dessert café that I used to frequent based on the convenience of the location. Now, it’s really tacky and run-down, serving not just sweets. Their bubble tea is served in cute mason jars, but the drink itself isn’t as good as the other tea houses in the area. Other drinks I had was too sugary and syrupy. The shaved ice isn’t bad, but again, there are better ones around the area. They’ve expanded to food, which is sub par. For example, the noodles are made from instant packages. Overall, low quality food and drinks, tacky venue, and mediocre service.

The food is great and the bubble tea is on point. We tried the shrimp fried rice and it was delicious. My friend tried the red bean crêpe and loved it. The mini buns were also delicious. I would say the down side is that the place is a bit run down and the chairs are all ripped so if they upgraded the place, it would be perfect. Also the bathrooms are pretty gross.

After a dinner in the East Village — my friends, boyfriend, and I grabbed dessert at Just Sweet Dessert House. I have passed by this place many times, but never stopped by until recently. Not much décor, very simple, and catered mostly to college students and the young crowd. I like that there isn’t just desserts, but there’s also savory items such as: hand-made dumplings, takoyaki, noodle soups, and a lot more. The bathroom was spacious for just one stall. The bathroom was also used for storage space which I thought was a little strange. Pink Romance Crêpe — My boyfriend ordered this and it consisted of strawberries covered with strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. It sure soun looked amazing. I didn’t try any since I am not a particular fan of crepes. Dark Forest — A friend ordered this and it consisted of banana, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. It’s similar to the Pink Romance crêpe. I really like how beautifully plated the crepes were. It was clean, creative, and clear. Taiwanese Shaved Ice — This was my dessert. You can customize it to your own liking. You can pick four toppings and add ice cream for $ 1.00. So I got red bean, grass jelly, mixed fruit jelly, and strawberries as my four toppings and red bean ice cream. The dessert was fantastic. It was pretty hot the day we went to Just Sweet Dessert House and I really needed an ice cold dessert to cool me down and this worked really well for me. It wasn’t too sweet which I liked. I crave for this dessert again. I definitely want to revisit Just Sweet Dessert House. There’s an array of menu items to try and I would love to give it another shot when I am in the neighborhood again.

JS just came out with a new line of salads, and the tofu one tastes great.(Your bubble tea will be half off if you get one FYI) Go for the s’mores — hits you right in the childhood. Banana flavored milk tea tastes a lot like the Wonka’s laffy taffy.

This place is right smack next to an NYU dorm which is perfect for the NYU students to get their asian desert fix. St. Alps is the next two blocks over and I recommend going there instead if you want bubble tea. The bubble tea here is okay. I asked if I could substitute my bubbles for some herbal jelly and I couldn’t. I ended up ordered a red bean bubble tea and it tasted very powdery. I know most of these bubble tea joints use powder to make their drinks, but at least make it the right way so it’ll taste good. We also ordered a hot mochi/sesame/red bean dish and it took forever to come. I guess this isn’t a popular dish so they had to do some work to put it together. The dish was okay, but nothing special to sit there and wait for it. This place is more of a casual hang out spot to grab a quick drink with friends. It’s a good spot to catch up and chat, but don’t expect the food or bubble tea to be good. With that said, I still come back time to time when I am looking for a place to continue my conversation from dinner if I don’t feel like going to a bar. I also like St. Alps a lot, but this place is more casual and comfortable.

My sister(NYU student) and I came here for a post-lunch dessert. She loves this place and came here frequently her 1st year so I knew it had to be good. She got the tropical paradise and I got the hot red bean bubble tea. Both were amazing and just the right amount of sweet. The bubbles weren’t the best, but they aren’t the worst either. The tropical paradise wasn’t the best choice for a cold day, but all those fruits and condensed milk mixed together so well.

For dessert part two, we venture north into East Village. There, we came across a nice little dessert shop called Just Sweet. We ordered the Korean«patbingsu» shaved ice containing strawberries, kiwi, mangos, red beans, condensed milk, mochi, and green tea ice cream. We were really full by now but it was still delicious. Would go again.

Conveniently located near St. Mark’s and a great place to go after you’re drunk and crave something sweet. Last time I went, I got the Chocolate-Banana Crêpe which was pretty decent and also an order of S’mores. It came out with a cauldron to roast the marshmallows on. A CAULDRON! Anyways, it’s relatively cheap and has late hours.

This place is really adorable! It’s a really chill place to be if you’re looking for a place to hang out with friends. I took my friends here for dessert after having dinner at St. Marks! I heard pretty good things about this place and wanted to try it out. The prices are really friendly to any college student’s wallet, ranging from $ 5 to maybe $ 9 for the most expensive item. My two friends ordered the double scoop of green tea ice cream and it was pretty good. I was originally going to order the large patbingsu for $ 9, but I settled for the smaller one for $ 6. I’m really glad I did because they gave such big portions and it took me a lifetime to finish. There were so many things on it, like red beans, kiwis, strawberries, and more. I was just blown away. The ice cream was really fresh, as was the shaved ice! The service was alright. The cashier/waiter didn’t really check up on us that often, but it was fine. Oh yeah, a heads up – apparently they don’t give discounts for NYU students. They just take their campus cash. Otherwise, I’ll def come back again some time to try their drinks!

Love the cheap prices for the area. Great ramen, noodles and rice plates for a cheap price. I think they are going for the students in the area with these prices. They also sell bubble tea and other sweets. I had the bbq pork with rice and added a taro bubble tea on a mason jar. Really good over all.

Wound up coming here when we heard there was a 40 min wait for a table at Max Brenner’s. This place came up when we did a search for a dessert place in the area. This is a shaved ice extravaganza. There seems to be every possible combo of fruit and beans and ice cream and Mochi that you can think of — all on top of shaved ice. We tried the bean town, the mango lovers and the patbingsu which is a Korean shaved ice and had the kitchen sink of toppings on there — mango, strawberries, Mochi, green tea ice cream, kiwi, corn flakes, red beans, condensed milk and I don’t remember what else but I just named 8 things! All the shaved ice was about $ 6-$ 7 for the small which was plenty for one person unless you’re in piggie hunger mode.

I had really low expectation here. and i took the advice not to order the bubble tea. so I am pretty impressed. My friend order the patbingsu which was pretty good. The green tea flavor ice-cream has real green tea powder on it and it’s actually bitter. Which was great… My friend and I love it because it was hot outside and we love both green tea and red bean. I ordered the red bean«tong sui»(hong kong dessert), added 3 glutinous ball with black sesame in it. And yes they used real read bean. the sweetness and everything was perfect. I bet they get the glutinous ball from some supermarket but it was really soft and yummy. My friend also ordered scallion pancake because she was hungry. she said it wasn’t that great. well. it’s call«just sweet dessert». So I guess you just come in and order some dessert. If you want bubble tea, go to St. Alp or tea-kettle.
