Just Salad

I have ordered from this place 5 days a week. Between not including ingredients I ordered and paid for, ridiculous delivery times with me living up the block and cold calling me 2 – 3 times on every order after I asked them not to during a business day I am done with this place. This time, as I sit here after 1.5 hours waiting on a Saturday I need to find another place to eat. Just salads is just annoying…

I’ve been a loyal customer for 2 years now. Shameeka, Daisy and the rest of the staff know my salad by hard now lol. They are very courteous, pay attention to their customers and make sure I’m happy with my salad. I couldn’t of asked for a better staff. :o)

Healthy, delicious, and reasonably priced, Just Salad is my only lunch-​time destination. The staff is wonderful, especially Shameeka. Enjoy.

the WORST delivery in all of Manhattan and anywhere else i have every lived. If you order from here pick it up, their salads are pretty good but their delivery never fails to disappoint!

I eat at this Just Salad every day for lunch! I keep coming back for a number of reasons:
1. price/​quality is hard to beat: i get a build your own arugula & mesclun, with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, chickpeas, jalepeno, red onion, and sweet potato EVERY time– it’s $ 9 because I bring my own bowl; good for the wallet & the environment.
2. the staff are so friendly and focused: i love everyone on the line but especially Shameeka & Daisy; these girls always put a smile on my face and make me feel valued as a customer :)
3. it’s less than .1 miles from where i work

I usually love this place. However, I just noticed a curly brown hair in my chicken chorizo rice bowl. Yep… never coming back.

I’m torn between 2 stars and 3 stars — so I opted for the 3 stars.
Basically — it’s *just* a salad with a whole lotta lettuce. I mean — A LOT of lettuce. Maybe this place should be called «Just Lettuce.»
Overall, I think it’s overpriced for a massive bowl of way too much lettuce and some fixings with maybe-​good, maybe-​disappointing dressing. I’m always overwhelmed with all the possible combinations of fixings, so I just select one of their suggested salads.
I’ve only tried two of their salads — one was a solid «good», the other was just «eh, shoulda gotten a bagel instead».
The line moves quickly and their snacks at checkout are only $ 1.

go here for lunch often, i am giving it five stars — great, fast service. especially during lunch when it’s packed — they move the line along quickly. some people are even regulars and the staff greets them by name!
LOVE their smoky poblano ranch dressing — it’s really good, spicy and different.
i usually go with the smokehouse steak salad or make my own, think its really good/​quick salads to grab and go. Recommended!

I hope you’re ready for the most stressful lunch experience imaginable! As you scramble through line getting yelled at to keep moving you finally order and end up having your salad «chopped» which in reality is them cutting up half of it and the other half flying off the table. There is 0 care here from any of the employees here. The salads are decent which is why I didn’t give it one star but other than that this place is awful.

This review is about the awesome girl at the cash register that knows how to make the smoothie drinks and multitask. Every time I go to just salad I hope that she has a scheduled shift. No matter how busy it get she always has a positive attitude and is working 150%. She is on point and should be promoted.

COCKROACH!!!
So I usually write more extensive reviews, but I will just summarize in that one word. I finished eating a salad at about 7pm on 8÷11÷2015 and was getting up to leave when I noticed a small (about an inch by quarter inch) cockroach scurrying up the wall next to my seat. I was so repulsed. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!
Almost lost my dinner…

For a place that only makes salads, they could make better salads. First of all, I’ve never had them make my order 100% correct here ever (i always ask them not to put cheese, by the time i get my salad the cheese is so finely chopped I cant pick them out). Second, its crazy hectic and you are pretty much getting yelled at to get your salad order and the guy in line that asks you to give him your order gave me all of 3 seconds of getting in line before asking me what I wanted.
To sum it up, you can get a salad for cheaper with better ingredients (where they dont skimp on the toppings) literally on any block in the midtown area. Why do people even come here?

I don’t even LIKE salad, but they make a damn fine smoothie. Weighing in at almost $ 6, it doesn’t come cheap, but after some cheap pizza it’s just the thing to alleviate that food guilt. That berry smoothie does the trick every time, but there are several to choose from.
As far as salad goes, it’s utterly customizable. You can get a bowl of leaves, or the whole works, or pretty much anything in between. It’s more or less a mecca for the salad-​fiends of Midtown. It helps that everyone there has been unfailingly polite, which is part of what lead me to write this.
What really prompted this review was what I saw go down tonight with the lady in front of me. She approached the staff with a problem — she bought a Groupon for Just Salad, and was incensed that they weren’t letting her use it. As the staff calmly explained that it was for the wrong location, she went full rage mode. Threatened to call some federal department of consumer protection, the whole gamut of «customer is always right» crap. So, I really want to give props to the line employees and the manager for listening to this screaming nonsense without jumping over the corner and ringing this brat’s bell.
PS I went and checked Groupon — it’s for a Just Salad location waaaay downtown.

I had never been to one of these salad spots before, since I bring lunch from home 99% of the time. I finally popped into Just Salad, a place where if you have one of the plastic containers from there, you are instantly COOL. Am I impressed? No, it’s a SALAD! Was it good, sure.
They have countless salad fixin’s and lots of dressing options, the employees are fast, efficient, and friendly, and they have a system down which is perfect for the lunchtime rush. The only downfall is the price, but I’m bitter because I can make the same salad at home for half of what I paid here.
Side note, spicy buffalo sauce as a dressing is, in fact, SPICY. My nose continues to run a half hour after salad consumption.

I would give 4 or maybe 5 stars but for the service. All of the staff were kind and well-​meaning but the set up seemed inefficient and the salads were bottle necking at the chopping station. I had to ask for a clean board that hadn’t been used for meat (I’m not always this picky, but as a lifelong vegetarian was feeling a bit squeamish about the previous guy’s chicken.) I was surprised that a clean surface wasn’t used per customer by default. I didn’t realize this would involve a slow saunter back to the kitchen to grab a new one, further holding up the line. The staff also rinsed off the chopper and scraper, which I appreciated. This was at dinner time so it wasn’t crowded, but could’ve been more organized and efficient with service.
I had the Hudson Valley salad with arugula and it was delish, so I would go back again if I happen to be in the vicinity.

This was my first time here and I’m officially obsessed. There was. Lot of people but I had my food within two minutes. Selection is not only healthy and varied, but it even tells you where the food comes from! Very cool for those eating local and organic. I got the Asian sesame grain wrap and I took a menu home so I can order it to my apartment as often as I can afford. Each item was under $ 10 and they were so friendly and efficient. Cool space and right next to the gym! Loved it.

Excellent Asian Sesame Grain Salad, all toppings included. The best time to go is after the lunch rush hours. Your order will be guaranteed to be perfectly seasoned and dressed. Fresh and delicious ingredients can’t be beat.

I’m partial to the Just Salad on 8^th st which has a better and more efficient system, but it was either this or Shake Shack (which I’m not a big fan of). When I walked in, it was pretty empty and I was not sure where to start with my order. I finally figured it out and ordered my mesclun topped with egg, cherry tomatoes, avocado and red onion. The toppings weren’t very generous and the cilantro vinaigrette tasted a bit watery but it was enough to fill me up. I wasn’t thrilled with this particular location and won’t be coming back here but just like any Just Salad locations, they have a variety of toppings and dressings. The dressing guy was very helpful but I felt too rushed by the salad girl even though I was the only customer in the store at the time.

I’ve seen improvements in the overall morale and quality control here. Evidenced by the freshness of the ingredients. I’m a fan again and although this place is very pricey, its an easy way to have a virtuous veggie-​based lunch that tastes good and when I choose this over shakeshack next door I dont regret it :)
PS. I was offered a free salad based on my prior negative review. I did not accept the offer but resumed coming here spontaneously because my colleagues bowls looked damn good. Still I appreciate that they reached out.

This location sucks because of the terrible service. I come here because it’s the closest major salad place around my area with a lot of options to chose from, but c’mon. all the workers are in SUCH a rush, it’s just so irritating. They never EVER listen to what you’re saying and if you don’t answer right when THEY ask YOU what you want, and god forbid you didn’t understand what they said when they mumbled some bs to you, you know you’re going to get some crappily chopped salad and some frowns. These people SUCK.
I bought a reusable bowl, which is a good idea — you get 2 extra essentials (omg, try asking them which ingredients are essentials — you can hearrrrr the rolling of their eyes).
I’ll have to keep coming back here for salad since there’s not many other options around my office building, but it does NOT mean that I like their service!
