A neighborhood gem and even«worth a detour». We used to go to this restaurant years ago in its previous location and after they moved we «lost» them. Rediscovered a year ago and since then we go routinely. The new location is beautiful, comfortable and have that rare feeling of the real thing — your beloved local French bistro, owned by the chef and his wife. Their son works there as well. The food is the real fantastic French that is sadly diminishing. The weekly specials are always gems(recently the fish quenelles were heavenly good — restaurants rarely invest the effort to prepare this dish, as well as the excellent calf liver). The deserts are fantastic as well. I am not a desert eater but in how many restaurants can you get today a real soufflé for desert that takes 15 minutes to prepare?

This review is long past due. The last time I was in NYC, I made a point to have Sunday brunch at Jubilee. What drew me in was that mussels are my favorite, and I learned beforehand that it’s their specialty. I walked into just what I hoped I would find; a warm French country bistro that partly resemble more a home than a restaurant. I observed a friendly and helpful staff interacting with a fun group of patrons that appeared to be frequent guests. My mussels were outstanding. I had them broiled on the half shell and I’m not sure that I can have them any other way from here on. I have cousins going to NY soon and, per my recommendation, they will be having dinner at Jubilee. I enthusiastically recommend the same to all who read this review.

Love love love! Was there for my birthday! Amazing. Had our wedding dinner there last Sunday! Even more amazing! Max and Agnes’s went way above and beyond the call of duty and had met and exceeded all my and my guests expectations! Job well done! Keep up the great work and we will be back as well as our guests!

What can I say? This place is amazing! We went here after I proposed to my fiancé John Rudinski in Times Square on the big billboard and three weeks later when we married in Central Park. Max is a godsend and Agnus is the epitome of class and perfection. Both of them made our wedding day something we will never forget. The mussels; don’t go anywhere else! Their menu is impeccable as is their over the top personalized service. We will be dining here a lot. Thank you Max, Agnus and the entire crew at Jubilee!

I’ve been here four times w friends. Last night was disappointing. The service was so slow that we were there for 3 hours. The Prosecco was flat, the olives in Martinis not muddled as requested. The asparagus soup was great as were the appetizers. I don’t know if they are understaffed but the time it took for the first drinks to arrive, the length of wait time in between courses was too long. They should also remove or highlight in red that the Prix a Fix menu is not available after 6:30. The staff doesn’t look very happy.

I took my friend here for her birthday and it was a surprise for us both! We ordered the truffle chicken pâté, mussels poulette(creamy chicken broth, chive, mushrooms, and truffle oil sauce), French onion soup, sea scallops orzo in porcini Parmesan sauce, apple tart with ice cream and crème brûlée with cointeau. As you can see, we went all out and became the gluttons we were meant to be. Let me completely honest here: we lovedddd every single bite. We ate copious amounts of bread to mop up every drop of sauce in the mussels and scoop up every bit of pâté. The scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection; tender, yet crisp from the sear, not at all chewy. The French onion soup was rich and beefy, not at all greasy from the melts cheese or overwhelming with onion bits. My only regret was not being able to try the fig tart which is not currently in season.

Excellent second time around. My husband, who, if he had a Unilocal account but he is too lazy, would tell you that he never eats salads at a restaurant, yet he very much enjoyed the frisee salad. I had the special, which was crab cake and quinoa, and was also a fan. For the main course he had the lamb, which I tried and it was amazing. I had wanted to get that too, but didn’t want to order the same thing as him, so I got the special, which that night(Saturday) was pike mousse dumplings with lobster reduction and rice. I had no idea what pike mousse was, and generally don’t like fish, but it was really good and didn’t taste fishy. This was my second time at Jubilee — the first time the food I ordered tasted kind of bland, so I don’t know if it was the fact that I got something different or if the other time was an off-night, but everything this time around tasted great, and I’ll definitely be back. The dessert, just as last time, was very good. I had profiteroles. Husband had the apple tart. I liked the apple tart but preferred the profiteroles. Though all of their desserts were exceptional the first time I was there so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. The atmosphere at this place is very nice and quiet, and service was great.

Had a 3 course meal here and everything was exquisite. Everyone at the restaurant has French accents which is interesting.

Love love love this place– best mussels in NY! The whole menu is fantastic and the owner — Eric — is a great Frenchman and a patriot! The place oozes a mix of traditional French coziness in what feels like a bigger version of our den growing up. Staff is friendly and knowledgable — can’t say enough good things — the only reason for 4 stars is the last TIKE I was there the chicken liver pâté wasn’t on the menu

Loved the atmosphere, entirely filled with locals and regulars, everyone was super nice and relaxed. The bartender was very attentive. The desserts were really amazing, especially the Grand Marnier soufflé. Absolutly luscious, soft and fluffy and not too sweet at all. The rum infused cake was good but very different than most desserts than I have ever tried, unique. Next time I will come for dinner because the plates that walked past me and the smells coming from the food made my mouth water.

My husband and another couple went here for dinner last night and it was fabulous. The wine list was exceptional and the service was great. The staff knew not to be too intrusive during dinner, which is great during conversation. Now the food, delicious we went with a native french couple and they were«WOWed» by the quality of ingredients. We ordered the avocado and crab salad, foie gras, and endive apple walnut salad, these appetizers were delicious. For our entrée I ordered the lamb with potatoes and they were delicious, my husband and our friends ordered pork, bouillabaisse and ravioli, and we left very satisfied. I recommend this place to anyone looking for fancy and fun dinner place.

The restaurant itself is unassuming and feels like you’re walking into an older house. The staff was accommodating when they found out we had a toddler with us and was still able to seat us right away. It was definitely an older crowd but that’s how you know the food is good, right? Starter Bread– Bread was served when we sat down. It’s pretty much like any other bread but the butter seemed very fresh French Fries– Came out hot and crispy Rack of Lamb– Perfectly cooked without being gamey Roasted Chicken– Extremely moist with a slight crisp to the skin and served with buttery mashed potatoes Trio Mussels– I don’t remember the sauces I chose but they were all really good! I liked the fact that the mussels were out of their shell and placed in a small bowl which were filled with more mussels than I thought would be given Molten Chocolate Cake– So rich and smooth! Exactly what you’d expect from a molten chocolate cake Apple Tart– Pretty large slice with the perfect amount of sweet/tart Crème Brûlée– Perfection! Just what you’d expect from a crème brûlée

I had heard good things about Jubilee before and it certainly met our expectations. It feels very midtown east/Sutton Place with clientele that appear to be mainly local residents. It has several small rooms with different décor and feels intimate. It has carpeted floor and the noise level is perfect. The food quality and presentation was clearly not the average neighborhood restaurant and we were extremely happy with each dish. We started with fluke ceviche and cold foie gras pâté. The ceviche had very nice refreshing flavor and the pâté was very delicate and done right. For entrée we had the porcini ravioli and the cod. The ravioli was fresh and tastes exactly what you think porcini/truffle ravioli should taste like, and the cod came with eggplant and tomato condiments and hollandaise sauce which allows you to enjoy the cod 2 or 3 ways. The cocktails too were good though may seem just a bit pricey. All in all it was great food, ambiance and service. Perfect for a date or dinner with family. I’ll definitely go back.

I came here for an anniversary dinner and the food was alright. I had the striped bass which was slightly over cooked and my boyfriend had the sole. He said it was good, but I didn’t try it. I think the experience would have bee much more pleasant if it really wasn’t for our server. He was so brusque, didn’t even smile once, and was really quite abrupt unfortunately. Anyways it’s a pity because the food is okay but the service just made it sub par to my standards. Too bad as I do think they could be so much better but i won’t be returning for the service.

Came with a party of 6 on a Monday night at 7:30. We had reservations and had no issues getting seated, the hostess seemed warm enough. The waiter wasn’t the best but for the most part we had no issues with service. The restaurant was upscale but not fancy, comfortable but also slightly cramped. We started with the shrimp and avocado salad as well as the heirloom tomato salad. I didn’t have the shrimp but it was essentially 4 shrimp on a small pile of guacamole. The heirloom tomato salad was delicious. It was a couple small and large heirloom tomatoes with small pieces of fresh mozzarella and a balsamic vinaigrette. It had a small piece of bread with balsamic vinaigrette drizzled on it on top. I thoroughly enjoyed it, the tomatoes were fresh and the vinaigrette was spot on. For my main I went with the pork chop with sugar snap peas and corn. The side was ok, most likely just canned corn with some steamed peas and a little salt and pepper. The pork chop was great and exactly what I was hoping for. It was around 1.5″ think, seasoned well with some salt, and cooked perfectly. The mustard sauce was a tangy, sweet, and creamy and a great compliment. The scallops looked very good as well though I didn’t get to try any of my dining companion cleaned his entire plate. For dessert we got the molten chocolate cake. I usually stay away from them as 99% come frozen and their rarely made in house and I don’t think this one was any different. It was decent but not something I would order again. Prices are a bit up there and I’m not sure if it’s 100% worth it but overall it was a solid meal. The dinner pre-fixe seems like a great option if you can make it in time.

Neighborhood gem! Big fan of this beach themed French restaurant. Great place if your looking for a heavier fare of French cuisine. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere is always bustling with the«more mature» crowd from the midtown east company. Yes, don’t expect to see anyone under the age of 50 here– but that’s how you know it’s good, right?! We enjoy dining at the bar, but have never had a great experience with the wine.

Jubilee is clearly a favorite of the midtown east neighborhood. The restaurant makes up for its lack of excitement with well-prepared, delicious french fare. The bread they bring at the beginning of the meal is great as is the field green salad(I really like the tarragon vinaigrette dressing. The free range chicken and angus steak are both very tasty. Again, nothing super exciting going on here, but quality food prepared well. There are probably 5 – 7 very good French restaurants in the Midtown East neighborhood, but Jubilee does seem to hold the edge in terms of quality and popularity.
