I was staying at the nearby Hilton Fashion District Hotel — which has no pantry/convenience store — so I trotted over to the Green Tomato to grab some cold bottled water and some snacks. Not a great selection, say compared to a 7 – 11, but I found enough to get by…

I keep giving this place a chance as it’s near my office and the people who work there are nice enough(never experienced the attitude that others posted). However the food at the buffet bar just isn’t up to par. I looked at the salads at the buffet yesterday and the avocado was brown which to me is a pet-peeve and a no-no. Especially in NYC where there are multiple deli’s on one block. Another reason why I keep giving them another chance is because they have sushi pieces as part of the salad buffet which they don’t have at Sunac Fancy Food.

You can’t get good clean servers these days. The counter girl was clipping her finger nails by the register during her down time. Why was she there alone with no on else in the store? Maybe they’re not busy enough to sustain a staff. Salad bar looks old.

The food is great but the service sucks … the staff is very rude they get annoyed at you asking questions.

Great, fresh food. French fries made on-the-spot…just be patient for the grub from the grill, it’s worth the wait!

Salad is decent but pricey. I have definitely experienced better and cheaper. Also it’s lame that there’s a 7 dollar minimum to use a credit card.

Just a block away from my office. It’s a great place for veggie eaters and i love that they have Kombucha tea, as well. Def. one of my favorite spots for lunch!

I can choose to get angry about inconsequential things like rudeness from the cashier, but the cashier was also the owner so he was probably wondering why after coming to this damn country, with promises of being the owner of a business, he was also its cashier. No one told him that. Menu is «hip-basic»; food was good, but not good enough to warrant the wide variety of iced teas they had… so if you’re going to have organic Thaiced-tea, then you gotta have something like a «Kale Peanut Sprout Tofu Wrap» on your menu. This place has a ham&eggs heart. It’s Billy Joel pretending he’s Lou Reed. It’s right across from the bus station for many Bolt Buses, so it’s got to do good business and that do my omelette heart good. Aren’t green tomatoes a bad thing?

The sandwich I bought, «the Poblano» sounded good according to the sign below describng the contents: «Grill chicken, avocado, mix greens, tomato, pepper jack cheese.» Didn’t mention about any cured meat like bacon or pancetta, but that’s exactly what I found in my sandwich upon getting it to the office I was volunteering at. Since I don’t eat pork and the texture nor taste was not like turkey bacon, I was bit disappointed. I took it out and commenced eating the remainder of the sandwich.

Went there early yesterday morning after getting off the Megabus dropoff near Penn station and this deli crossed with a has everything this weary vegan traveler wanted, in this case simply an excellent veggie wrap and a bottled fruit smoothie, and a table with an electric outlet to sit at for a while. Oh, and a chocolate vegan protein cookie that i didn’t know i wanted. Shawn at the counter took care of me; he was great!

Came here again to order a philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries this time. ONCEAGAIN, the bread roll was SOFT and fresh. ANDOHMYGOSH, the fries were thick and cut fresh. Thick and the length were like the size of the original large potato. That was pretty amazing. And even better — after they cook the fries, the batch was put into a bowl to be tossed and folded with seasoning. NOWTHATISGOURMETSTYLE! Not even Five Guys does that! Nowhere else does that! Except restaurants that serve gourmet burgers and gourmet fries and charges $ 30 for the platter. I mean, the sandwich with fries was less than 10 bucks. WHOOHOO! Excellent!

I felt compelled to write this review mainly because my sandwich was so damn delicious. Typically I don’t obsess over delis but I would 1000% return to this establishment after having lunch there this week. Lots of options, decent inexpensive prices, nice people working behind the counter and places to sit inside. I ordered a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich on a ciabatta hero — the chicken was very flavorful and the avocado was as fresh as they come. That’s a combo I rarely find at any neighborhood deli around the city. Plus a surprise bag of chips and a pickle come with your sandwich– another big plus for this establishment. 8 dollar minimum on cards… open 24 hours bay bay

adorable mini deli. when i attended classes at FIT, i ate lunch here every day and never grew sick of it. i’m not much of a salad or sandwich girl so i always head past the salad sandwich bar to their self-serve where price is measured by weight with seasoned sausages, seafood salad, sushi, noodles, etc. i think my love is fueled by my addiction to their peach green tea. the vendors are super sweet! definitely plan to return when school starts again in the fall.

Green Tomato is the only place I know in the area that has decent, inexpensive food and is open 24 hours! :) Build your own sandwich or salad, or choose from pre-made paninis. They have hot food during the day as well, although I’ve never tried it. They also have a great selection of snacks and drinks, including beer. Green Tomato is Korean-owned and the people who work there speak very little English, but they are so friendly and they always make sure your food is made perfectly.
