The sandwich place is right on the corner next to the restaurant. The sandwich was good because the quality of the meat and cheese was good. I was a bit disappointed because the options were limited from what is online.

Best sausage in the city. They dry it for months on end, and you will taste the difference. Definitely worth the price. My favorite is Salame Toscano, but all are great. Before you go, know it’s cash only.

NOCREDITCARDS, and they don’t bother to mention to it anywhere — not on the front door, not on the walls, nowhere — until you get your order in a bag and prepare to pay. Or not, because they DONOTACCEPTCREDITCARDS, in the 21st century. Well, we didn’t have the«opportunity» to try what another Unilocaler called the«grossly underwhelming» food at this very shabby and dirty place. Thankfully. Because it’s CASH only, and they don’t tell you. So we walked out.

The real deal… homemade Italian salamis and charcuterie. Their Italian sandwich is the best around NYC.

Got the Italian combo. Fresh bread, salty meat, great provolone. What more could you ask for? If I lived in NYC, I’d totally be a regular here.

Have been going to this joint for years. It’s a straightforward no-frills Italian deli with a very professional staff behind the counter. Lasagne and sausage heroes are two of my favorites, but I’d also recommend the pasta primavera and the baked ziti. Only caveat is that they charge for things like tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc. on their cold heroes. These should be free with the cost of the hero. Otherwise, the place is excellent.

Fresh, authentic. I’m an Italian American and these sandwiches are the real deal. Meatball hero, chicken parm, all the classics. Bread is fresh and totally worth eating(which I never say about bread). Quick and easy service.

Had lunch here this afternoon and it was better than expected from the looks of the outside! Everything is fresh and the pasta, meats and cheeses behind the counter makes your mouth water while you try to decide what you want. I guess you have to really know how to order at this place, the menus at the top only list a few basic items but from what I gather, they will make just about whatever you want. You are only going to get what you ask for, I ordered a mozzarella sandwich with tomatoes and that’s all I got, when asked if I wanted any dressing I requested pesto with no luck, had to settle for oil and vinegar but it was still amazing. The mozzarella was so fresh and piled high, next time I will try a hot panini. The downside of coming during lunch is the small space, only a few tables that are guaranteed to be filled up. If you see a free seat at a table, sit with a stranger– no big deal!

Salumeria Biellese is a concrete 4 stars if you understand what it is and what it’s not. What it is is a classic Italian deli with big portions and fresh cold cuts. What it’s not is a gourmet sandwich shop or fancy sit-down meal. Truth be told, I prefer Sergimmo Salumeria a few blocks away because it looks and tastes more refined and I’ve found the employees friendlier, but Salumeria Biellese is still a good choice for a hearty Italian hero. A couple of negatives that caused me to knock it 1 star: 1) The bread could have been better. Considering the quality of the rest of the ingredients, the bread should be better. 2) I understand the classic deli look/feel, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel dilapidated or be dirty. 3) The employees weren’t rude, but could definitely have been more cordial. 4) Cash only is inconvenient. The thing about Salumeria Biellese is that it if it was slightly cheaper, I would have overlooked the above criticisms on the basis that it’s a cheap, incredibly delicious, no-frills, old-school deli. But what I found is that it’s a reasonably priced, pretty delicious, no-frills, old-school deli. It’s solid, but not spectacular. Therefore, the critiques did matter to me, and ultimately this is why I settled on 4 stars.

Upon discovering that one of my favorite restaurants in the area shut down(Urban Kitchen) I wandered for a little bit and found Salumeria Biellese. I decided to try a large meatball parm and some coleslaw. The meatball and cheese are excellent. The bread is ok. If I had known they were going to toss the sandwich in the microwave I would have omitted the«parm» portion of my order. The coleslaw is a little on the sweet/sour side for my tastes. I definitely need to come back and try some of the cold and other hot offerings.

BRINGCASH! If all you’ve read is my stressing to bring cash then my review was already helpful without you having read it all. But if you choose to read further this spot isn’t completely terrible but I have been able to find better specials in the area where I could get a soda and chips with the sandwich I buy for about the same price as a sandwich alone at this place. What really irked me about this place is that I looked to make sure there was no signs saying credit card minimums or indication that they don’t take credit card but no such sign exists. To my surprise I was told it’s a cash business only after having my order prepared and bagged. I could have been an ass and walked away because I was really annoyed but I went next door to an ATM and had to get cash which would have not happened if a sign was posted because I DID in fact look. Overall it’s not a bad place though I thought slightly expensive when you compare similar specials in the area. My sandwich was really good though.

This is a good italian deli — typical meats and cheeses, make a sandwich as you like. Meatball and eggplant parm are good too. Yum! They run out of things so don’t go too late in the day!

ALERTALERTALERT Do you like processed meats? Does fatty sausage tickle your fancy? Do you just want a huge pile of soppressata on bread? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you have got to get at Salumeria Biellese. I’m obsessed(sorry for the teen girl language) with soppressata, and the spicy selection here was PERFECT. It was perfectly fatty, salty, and a little fiery. They have a sweet soppressata too, which I’d probably try on a pizza or something. The chicken parm sandwich looked incredible too — a coworker downed that in a couple minutes. But I’m just a girl, with a love for processed meats, standing in front of a deli. Hang tight, Sal(my loving nickname for the deli), I’ll be back soon.

This is a hidden gem don’t tell anyone! The deli definitely looks like a bodega but they actually serve fine Italian meats to quality Italian restaurants — think Pat LaFrieda for Italian meats. I’ve been to Salumeria Biellese a few times and your best bets are Italian Combo and Mortadella & Provolone. On Mondays they have the Roast Beef Sandwich Special — the beef is extremely juicy and the gravy is hearty! They also have some kick-ass hot sandwiches including chicken parm, but beware of the cheese/sauce they will probably put you asleep in the afternoon. The price is reasonable for a small sandwich(medium size elsewhere) it’s about $ 7 and the large one(almost foot long) it’s about $ 8. Though, if you add tomatoes and lettuce they are 75 cents each. Again this is a deli don’t expect too much in terms of customer service and décor, just get your sandwich and enjoy what you pay for. By the way the deli has received Snail of Approval from Slow Food NYC, and it is approved by my co-workers as well.

Subway, Lenny’s, Pot Belly go there first AND then go to Salumeria Biellese, you will immediately taste the difference REAL deli meat thats homemade makes! I got the large italian sub and it was stacked with meat for $ 8.50. In fact next time ill probably get the regular size. I have been looking for a no frills sandwich shop like this for a while. You’ll be happy and leave satisfied. Bring CASH, because thats all they take now

Good food but zero customer service. This site says they take credit cards — and I’ve used a credit card here before — but they insisted today they don’t and never have. Another place that will go the way of the dodo! Sorry to see!

Sandwiches are just ok. They charge $ 1.00 for cheese, $ 0.75 for lettuce, and $ 0.75 for tomato. That’s indefensible for an already expensive sandwich.

I was craving a simple yet flavorful sandwich and mission was accomplished! They can dress up your hot or cold sandwich anyway you’d like. For me, I was feeling some Capicola And Provolone which tasted fresh and was very filling. This is a good alternative to the chains and they have a pretty diverse menu of Italian hot foods as well. A little pricier than the chains but as you would expect you get what you pay for.

I try their chicken parmegiana hero, it’s not fresh and not delicious. I take it to the garbage. And interior is not good as we’ll. so I don’t like them

Love this place! Great lunch specials. Huge bang for your buck. Try the Chicken Valdostana — You may not order anything else off the menu. La Vostra Accoglienza!
