Well, after not eating here in about a year and a half, decided to get a slice of Pizza and a bottle of water. Sorry to say this business has declined even more. Pizza had what I believed to be phony Cheese and watery sauce. Not worth the cost of $ 3.00 a slice. Won’t be eating here again,

The product at Grandpas is almost always good but they really need to iron out their delivery operation The order taker is regularly unfocused and often doesn’t understand the order request. Also despite asking regularly, RARELY do we receive requested items like oregano, garlic powder, pepper flakes or Parmesan. Simple fixes really. I hope the restaurant gets it together before it goes downhill

Have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years. This place used to be really great. Now… the prices are outrageous, they repeatedly get my address wrong(even when I spell it out — even when I ask them to please correct my address in their records) and the rudeness on the phone is incredible.(The guys behind the counter are fine.) Despite all of this, I continued to deal with them because there aren’t a lot of options here… and then they started to tell me on the phone that I can’t get ANY size pizza delivered except large! Sorry… Pizza Haven is half a block away — pizza’s not as good, but the people aren’t rude, I get what I want, and the prices aren’t an insult.

Pretty overpriced for pizza that I think can do better. veggie slices over $ 5/slice.You probably get better overpriced pizza at the airport!

What can I say about this pizza. Inwood is in serious need of a good pizza. Most of the food up here apart from a couple of places sucks. This pizza tops it all. I was anticipating an amazing medium pizza for $ 24. I ordered a white pizza with artichokes and spinach. What I got was a flavorless with basically no cheese, no artichokes. Every Italian must be flipping in their grave at these horrendous pizzas that are coming out of this place. Never again. I don’t understand why this places in upper Manhattan even stay in business serving the garbage they do. I mean seriously. When j called to order the girl who answered the phone didn’t even know what a white pizza was. I can’t anymore. I worked 16 hours today and was looking forward to an actual good meal and most of all a great pizza. Now I have to order from pipers kilt. They actually care about what they are serving to people. If their was a negative 5 star I would give it to them.

Had high hopes for Grandpas. A brick oven uptown. Unfortunately after the bill climbed north of $ 50 for take out for 2 people and the wait was INSANE, we’ll avoid Grandpa in the future. We ordered several assorted slices, most of which were dry. Beyond that the order was just wrong. The calzone was the best thing but I suspect that was the item we waited for the longest. Finally — while waiting, I observed someone who was preparing food EATING. It’s one thing to eat in your own kitchen while preparing food but I don’t want to see a cook slobbering over a bowl of pasta while plopping pepperoni on my pie.

The calzones are an easy 5 star plus review and the cheese pizzas would get a strong 5 from us – although we have to order extra cheese when we have to have an outrageously cheesy pie. The thin crust is just crispy enough and doesn’t arrive burned around the edges. Not too much sauce — and tasty better quality real cheeses. Be sure you tell them how you want your crust if you have a fave style. What we are basing our rating on: We love their fresh mozzarella and basil meatless, esp. Their veggie pizza means an array of fresh, including eggplant when we were there last. We don’t order meat toppings, so we can’t speak to them.(If we want something meaty, we buy Tofurkey Italian style vegetarian sausage and sauté’ it while we wait for pizza to arrive. We’ve served this to meat eaters who didn’t recognize it was plant based…) We are slightly less excited about the cost of large orders. Would love to see them offer frequent flyer pizza points… Also, although we like to drop into the storefront after Inwood local activities, the tables are never clean and the restroom is, well… plan on holding it until you get home. PRO: Try a calzone when you take a break from your low carb/low fat diet. Outrageously generous and cheesy ricotta and mozzarella in a perfectly oven-baked handmade crust.

It’s not the same pizzeria it once was. For the area, it’s still not so bad, but its only a notch better than 2 bros. Also, for delivery, don’t expect your order consistently on time.

Bought a beef patty because I didnt know the area and thats all I wanted. One beef patty with cheese was 4.75! It didnt even taste as good as other places which roughly around 2.75 but no more than 3.50. Yes im a very cheap person, I dont care. I felt like I was cheated, I didn’t try anything else but it looks like their pizza looked decent. Im guessing its more than 4 bucks for a slice. Anyway. Nice décor. Shady seating area. Pricey!

The food here is very good. The pizza is among the best in the city, and the pasta dishes are fresh and great quality. That said, the prices are ridiculous for the neighborhood. And the service is beyond atrocious. Whatever time they quote you for your food, double it. And if you have the audacity to call after you’ve waited double the quoted time, they will be downright nasty to you on the phone. So even though Pizza Haven isn’t quite as good, they’re MUCH less expensive and actually quite friendly.

Good enough is how I’d describe it. Pizza is thin but not crispy, not filling enough. The pre-made pies with toppings somehow are not cohesive; for example they have a slice with chicken and veggies. It tastes just like they threw some stuff on a pie with no recipe to integrate the flavors. But at least you have the benefit of paying more than you would anywhere else in the city.

I know it’s unfair for a Brooklyn-native like myself to review pizza outside of Brooklyn(let’s face it– Brooklyn, undeniably, has the best pizza around), but I kept an open mind to this local spot. Not many pizza options around here in Inwood so I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into some gourmet perfectly made pizza on my walk home from the A train. Ordered the specialty slice(The Grandpa slice I believe), with a mixture of chicken, red and green peppers etc made as a thin slice. Problem: the pizza could’ve spent more time in the«brick oven» which as not a brick oven, as the peppers didn’t cook or melt on top of the pizza. 2nd problem: speaking of melt. where was the cheese? It was only sauce on luke-warm, thin pizza dough with uncooked peppers –Also ordered the stromboli: Problem: NONE it was actually perfectly made, warmed better than my slice, flavorful, filling, enjoyed the salsa sauce with it. Biggest problem? the total price for the specialty pizza slice and the stromboli was $ 12! If the pizza slice blew me away, it would’ve justified the high-end price but it didn’t so I won’t be back.

This is my go to pizza spot! Yes, a bit pricey but I have yet to be disappointed. The pizza slices are thin and fantastic, The beef patties with cheese are UHHmazing, Stay away from the chicken parmigiana. This location is right off the A train so not much thought has to go into what to quickly pick up.

I’ve only had the pizza and garlic knots. Pizza is great, garlic knots are not.

I am so disappointed I ordered a charbroiled burger which i love! But they sent it on moldy bread! Then resent it and it was raw in the middle. I had to cancel my transaction on my card. I guess they have new management because I had never received such bad food from this place. I will NOT be ordering from them again!

Angelo who works during the day«stretches» the boundaries in the way of deliveries! All the way down to Bdwy &192 st. !! The pizza is always great and the Shrimp Parm is also a winner! Tip: tell them lightly fried on the shrimp. The women in the office like the Salads and he always grilled chicken on top for them. Penn e ala vodka is great too. For me a reliable, solid lunch opportunity.

Way too over priced for pizza. I was excited to return to have a slice at this establishment because I haven’t been here since I was a little girl. Conveniently located by the A train this spot seems to be perfect for a grab on the go but I was wrong. Won’t be returning.

Three star pizza at four star prices. Notably good sauce and a real thin crust, but the pie is on the small side! Do they think I don’t notice? Food here is ok but not better than a much less fancy parlor, and not worth a modest premium of prices. It’s tough to get this hot. If you’re not going to eat in, don’t order from here.

It’s sometimes hard to write reviews for Inwood locations as you always preface with«for the Inwood area». But I am not going to give this a pass based on location. It’s quite expensive and pretty mediocre. We ordered a large meal here for a work party dinner. The pizza was just okay. The Greek salad– frankly could have come from McDonald’s if they made Greek salads. It was all very mundane and kind of like you could see they popped everything out of the deep dark storage fridge. No real flavor in much of anything. except the garlic bread. This was actually a hoagie generic bread bun– plastered with garlic and butter, it’s hard to go wrong with this combo. But really a hoagie bun!?! Also a” to go” order came with Ken’s Salad dressing in a Packet! Seriously, can’t you even disguise the generic dressing by putting it in a little plastic cup!
