Pizza, I will walk a thousand miles for you. And 10 blocks of windy brutal NYC weather can be consider a thousand miles(to me at least). Stopped by Golosi, I dont think they serve the typical triangle NYC slices. Instead their slices are cut into a small semi circle shape? But whatever, I’ll eat any shape of pizza. Regular pizza, didn’t really satisfied my craving for pizza but it did stop me for marching out in the cold for more pizza.

Salvatore Olivella is my favorite pizzaiolo in New York. I was distraught when Napoli 57 closed and excited to learn he reopened on Second and 68. Hi new place is small, but the pizza remains great. A great addition to the upper East Side!!! I will be back there every time I am in the neighborhood and get my favorite, combination of 4 toppings on a rectangular pizza: Margherita Quattro Formaggi San Daniele Pesto Great! A must!

Was really excited to find this gem a couple blocks from my apartment! This has become my new go-to place for pizza and gelato. The crust tastes like it has a lot of sugar in it, it’s not bad, just not what I would expect in a pizza crust. It adds an interesting twang… I’ll keep coming here as long as I have pizza cravings!

Real Italian pizza like I used to get at north beach. Nice seating loft. Good neighborhood place.

What a tremendous surprise this special little Italian eatery is! Hidden away and yet right on 2nd avenue you may have walked by it a few hundred times and never noticed it since there is a pizza joint on every block in The City(just as there is a DryCleaners, a Chinese restaurant and a nail salon…). But do yourself a favor and stop in next time you see GOLOSI. Their pizzas are special. Uniquely shaped and a crust to die for. Perhaps the best pizza crust I’ve tasted so far in manhattan. It’s seriously out of this world great. And I know pizza. It comes the closest to Italian pizza that I’ve had in the U.S. They also have a bountiful selection of fresh salads and homemade gelato that again is the best you’ll find outside of Italy. The only drawback to this place is that it’s pretty damn hot in there due to how small it is. But beside that it’s better than just good. It’s awesome! Nice people too. Polite and friendly and eager to serve.

This pizza is the real deal. The crust does the impossible– balances between crispy and chewy. My personal favorite is the pizza with arugula and prosciutto. Oh, and the massive rice ball appetizer is also pretty good. I order delivery from here a fair amount and I’m never disappointed. Happy to have them in my neighborhood.

This place is super tiny and you might miss it because of the huge Gotham Café being right next door but the pizza is really, really good. The crust had the perfect amount of crunchy-ness and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back although I’m reading the reviews about the lunch special which sounds great but I’m not sure they offer it anymore. I haven’t tried the gelato yet but will next time :)

Horrible. My company ordered pizzas and salads from Golosi the other day and 4 of us were immediately stricken with food poisoning, most likely from a prosciutto pizza. I am now in my 5th day of a violent case of food poisoning. We called to tell the manager but he never called back. Never order from here unless you feel like being confined to your apartment with horrible stomach issues for an extended period of time.

Came here looking for a lunch special deal that included gelato but it looks like they don’t offer it anymore. They had 2 lunch specials up on their chalkboard, one that changes every day($ 6.50 for sausage patties and french fries) and a regular one(2 slices of pizza plus beer or wine for $ 10). I went with 2 slices of pizza only and it was $ 8, definitely NOT a steal. The pizza is still thin crust and taken from a rectangular pie but wasn’t impressive. I wish I walked further down to Pizza Park instead. For the same price I could have gotten much better and more filling pizza. There was also a customer sitting there throwing F-bombs into every sentence he was speaking. And he was quite chatty too.

Great great great pizza. Thin crust and light on the oil which is nice to see, as a lot of pizza I tried in NYC was covered in oil. Prices were decent too, and as others have mentioned they have a lunch deal which is good value. The gelati is excellent also, definitely worth trying at least the Ferrero Rocher flavour. The people behind the counter are friendly and were up for a chat when I went. All in all I highly recommend this place.

Hidden behind heavy construction work on 2nd ave, Golosi is a great option if you want Italian without leaving the Upper East side. If it weren’t for Unilocal,I would never have walked in on this place. The second-floor dining area extends over the counter, and was a great hideaway from the chilly night. As a close friend once told me, «Any pizza can be a personal pizza.» And Golosi’s pizza is no exception. I ordered the pizza rustica, which had sausage and was loaded with vegetables. It was delicious. I don’t really remember eating it though because I scarfed it down. Hopefully I chewed… ANYWAY, the prices were really good, and so was the pizza. I’d definitely go back

Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from a restaurant. I’d love to be able to review their food but as I never received the food I paid for, that’s impossible. I had ordered delivery and put the address of the place next door, it’s a similar address, an easy mistake but my mistake nonetheless. OOPS! But Golosi failed to call me at any point in the delivery process. The first call I received was an extremely rude call after they got back to the restaurant to tell me, before even explaining the situation, that I won’t receive my food. Honestly had they just been nice and explained the problem, I would have understood and maybe gone to just pick up the food. Or if they had called, you know, during the delivery, when they were a door down from me, I would have come out to meet them(seriously? A delivery person just neglects to call the person they’re delivering to until getting back to the restaurant?) However the man who called me was rude beyond belief. And to top it off, he started to lie(!?) about what happened. He told me the delivery man was waiting for an hour(my order was placed a little over 35 minutes before they called, he couldn’t have waited that long even if they had the food ready to go immediately). Once he realize the address I put was on the same street he started to tell me that I put a different address and berate me that this address he made up «doesn’t exist». Of course it doesn’t. He made it up. Where exactly was the delivery guy waiting if the address I put didn’t exist? Needless to say that they didn’t offer a refund, and I didn’t receive food that I paid for. I can’t say I’d have expected one after being treated so disgusting. So I hope if you order from here you never actually have anything go wrong, because they will do and say whatever they can to make it so they don’t have to have any semblance a decent customer service. Because really, if. I can just state again, if they had just been nice and not randomly lied, we would have figured out some way to remedy the situation.

Golosi is a great neighborhood pizza place! They have a variety of options and the pizza is cooked in a square made with fresh hand tossed dough! My typical favorite is the tomato and cheese pizza and the three cheese pizza. In addition to pizza, they also have gelato which is very tasty! They typically have a lunch special so make sure to check the chalkboard outside or the menu.

Same experience as a previous Unilocaler, cheese slid off the pizza and went everywhere but the pizza. Eggplant parm was mushy mess too. I wouldn’t recommend delivery.

This is a SOLID pizza joint. Love the thin crust and the pizza is always fresh. I recommend picking it up because delivery can be slow. Also, if you order Margherita pizza, make sure they deliver it with chopped fresh basil on top. My only regret is not making this my regular pizza place sooner. I used to travel all the way up to the 90s to go to Nick’s, but with this place only a few blocks away, there is no need to do that anymore.

Dear Golosi: Don’t ever stop existing because you are too damn good. Love, Chris Out of all seriousness — Golosi has some of the best pizza on the UES. Their lunch special is everything: $ 7 for a large slice of pizza, a drink(in the past it used to be a hefty pour of wine… not anymore), AND gelato. What?! How can you go wrong with that?! You can’t. They always have cheese and pepperoni, but they get creative with their toppings every now and again. I’ve seen potato, peppers and onions, veggie, sausage… the list goes on! You can always count on getting a great lunch here that will leave you wanting nothing more after that last spoonful of gelato. Speaking of which, their gelato is… ugh. My mouth waters when I think about it, honestly. They have such a variety of flavors, and I’ve never had a bad one. The only downside to Golosi is that their delivery is NOT good! I’ve ordered from them twice, and both times the pizza came very messy, as if it were held on an angle the entire trip. Please, if you’re in the area, CHECKTHISPLACEOUT! I suggest it to everyone, so now I’m suggesting it to you!

Where else can you get 2 slices of pizza, a drink and creamy/heavenly gelato all for a $ 7 lunch?! Golosi of course! A friend introduced this to me recently and all he said was, «Tell them you want the lunch special.» Had no idea what this entailed but I am always wiling to try out new things. WARNING: Do not eat beforehand! You’ll be so full. This place makes such thin, crispy crust and has an assortment of toppings. I saw this potato pizza and was intrigued. Never had something like that before, but I liked it a lot! It was well done. 5 stars for creativity. Apparently beforehand they used to include wine in the $ 7 special. *Sigh* wish they didn’t get rid of that one. But it’s probably a good thing considering I shouldn’t be going back to work tipsy. So maybe that works in my favor. But they do have soda and other beverages that are included. You just walk up the winding steps to this little seating area up top! There’s not much space but it’s cool being up so high. They bring the pizza to you and voila! A nice cheap meal. But the best part… I am saving for last. GELATO. The last time I remember having good gelato was in Florence, Italy when I was studying abroad. Now… it was pretty darn good here too. They have quite a few flavors(which you can try as per request.) and I decided on the Amaretto one. Phenomenal. It’s a perfect treat to the end of a satisfying meal. So yes… warning. Do not eat beforehand because you’ll be feeding yourself pretty well here! I’ll definitely be stopping by here again soon.

Golosi is a great spot for lunch, and until recently, probably had the best lunch special on the UES: a slice of pizza, a glass of wine, and a scoop of gelato for $ 7. Seriously, $ 7. And it was a healthy pour! Every time we went back we thought«thank goodness they haven’t realized what a steal this is.» Well, they did. A month or so ago we went back in, asked for our pizza and wine, and they informed us the wine wasn’t part of the special anymore. A slice, a can of soda and a scoop of gelato just isn’t the same. Nevertheless, they’re incredibly friendly and the pizza is a perfect size for lunch. It’s not too small, but the thin crust is light so you feel good about it afterwards. Even though they got rid of the best. lunch. special. ever. I still go back, so it must be good, right?

Last week we had plans to go see the Pompeii exhibit and had a few hours to kill. We had(another) groupon to use up at Golosi and this visit certainly didn’t disappoint. Our waitress was so friendly! She made our stay so worthwhile. She was full of jokes and very playful. Our bantering back and forth left us all smiles. This time around we decided to order the formaggi pizza. My fiancé wasn’t so keen on my idea of trying something other than the regular pie so he got his half plain margherita style. Apparently, the formaggi pizza doesn’t come with sauce but what’s a pizza without sauce? — they accomodated me(of course) and I got my sauce :) :) :) :) The waitress joked that he better not touch my side of the pie– well, he not only ate a slice but loved it and suggested we get the pie next time we come. For dessert we ate a 3 scoop gelato– coffee, nutella, and a flavor we can’t remember now. Our bill came to a little over $ 20. There was no rush on our sitting there; in fact we probably spent close to 2 hours there, the most time we’ve ever spent in a pizzeria, or most any food establishment for that matter(excluding the 21 Club). We have one more groupon to use up at Golosi and we’ve made up our minds that we will continue to frequent this place for years to come.
