Last Monday, i ordered from this place, and i got the worse food poisoning ever. five days of diarrhea, fever, stomach ache. I don’t think i could eat Mexican food again in my life, which btw was one of fav food. I’m still under recovery. I just felt i should share this with other people because i don’t want anyone to get through my experience!

i got a burrito from here about 7 or 8 years ago, and i still remember it as the worst food poisoning I have ever had in my life. The food tasted nasty also. I have lived in NYC for 10 years and this was my first food poisoning incident, a few days ago i had my second, from fresh tortilla uptown. a little googling revealed they are owned by the same people. What on earth are they putting in the food?

My coworkers call it Chino Latino because it’s run by Chinese people. While I generally thought it to look sketchy, I did one day give it a go. To preface, I have a strong stomach. I’ve travelled the world and only in rare occassion from street curry in Dehli or dirty fruit in Nigeria have I caved to food poisoning. And then I met fresco Tortilla. I’ve never in my life gotten so sick from food in this country. I was an awful mess, throwing up for hours. The worst part? The food wasn’t even tasty! The chicken was rubbery and definitely reheated! Shame on me for eating food that looked and tasted questionable. Shame on them for serving it. Never again.

This place is pretty bad… I ordered take out from this place using seamless web after being hit with another late night at work. I was in the mood for some mexican food and saw this Restaurant as one of my options. I doubt this place has any Mexican chefs in the back and the food was awful. My food came in a Chinese take out container so it is probably ran by Chinese owners trying to tap into the Mexican food market. I have to stop by to confirm my believes! In short the food was horrible and I will never order from this place again! Cheers

Food= salty Customer Service= worst i’ve had in NYC Delivery= fast After ordering Chicken Fajitas from the menu, what I received was a salty chicken taco. The worst part was, when I called to report the mistaken order, the lady on the phone told me that it was MY fault that I did not specify«fajita by the pound» over the phone, saying that their regular customers know to say«by the pound» after ordering. If you have 5 different things named«chicken fajita» on the menu, why wouldn’t you make sure it’s the right one when someone is ordering over the phone? Rule #1 of customer service? As far as the food goes, it was salty and underwhelming, even for the low price. The tortillas were dry, and the fajitas that on the menu feature«california peppers» had 90% white onions and 10% green pepper. The chicken was over-salted. From now on, stick to Latin Thing for your Lexington Ave. Mexican fare!

I want to preface this review by saying that I am not a snob about my Mexican take-out. I don’t really care how authentic it isn’t. I am a devoted fan of Chipotle, and Calexico in Brooklyn is my go-to delivery spot on the weekends. I don’t need gourmet cuisine, I just want food that’s simple, cheap, tasty, and fast. Fresco Tortilla Grill(as it is known on seamless) has got the ‘cheap’ and the ‘fast’ down, at least. My order arrived in 8 minutes. Normally, that sort of miraculous service would be worth multiple stars, but alas, I had not ordered raw food, and they do not have magical ovens. They managed to get it to my office so quickly because it had all been cooked several hours ago, at best. Maybe this is my own fault for ordering at 3:30pm on a Sunday, maybe I just got really unlucky, I don’t know. All I know is that this stuff was inedible. The pico de gallo quesadilla was a soggy mess of congealed orange cheese that smelled wrong. To be honest, I couldn’t even bring myself to try it, and I was really hungry. The chicken enchiladas were cold, and consisted of tough shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla with a puddle of that same congealed orange cheese on top. The guacamole was yellow and looked more like baby vomit than anything else. I feel kind of bad saying that because it’s such a gross image and it sounds like exaggeration but I really can’t come up with a more accurate description. To be fair, the beans and rice were at least warm, and not terrible, but given the state of the rest of the food I was kind of wary. Suffice to say: hugely disappointing and a total waste of money(not that you’re wasting much. I guess that’s a plus). There are plenty of other Mexican places around the general Gramercy/Flatiron area. I don’t really know if any of them are better, but I cannot imagine them being worse.

i don’t care how cheap it is — the food looks like it was just slopped or flung from across the room into a Styrofoam container, cooled, and then allowed to congeal before delivery. i literally couldn’t bring myself to eat it.

This place is fantastic! Ok, so dont expect gourmet or fusion«cuisine» here — this is just good, basic and cheap mexican food that is delivered hot, quick and fresh(havent actually been to the place). I have used them twice to «cater» a party at my apartment including several«foodies» in attendance, and had to chuckle to myself when they were caught enjoying the food(disguised on my own serve-ware). Ha ha… the fresh tortillas are the best part. I recommend the fajitas, quesadillas and mexican pizzas.

I believe this place is decent, depending on what you order. I went there for lunch since my work was right around the corner from them. I ordered the chicken & guacamole combo. That was ok, for under $ 6. There wasn’t much chicken or guacamole, but a lot of mexican rice. It taste ok. Then I went there again, and ordered flour tacos, tex-mex chili w/tomato, lettuce and cheese, which was really good. I enjoyed it very much. I will go back to this place, just to try out other items off their menu. The place itself isn’t fancy, very low décor, just few workers. Since this is the closest fast Mexican food from my work and something cheap in Manhattan, you can not beat it.

This place doesn’t deserve the low ratings it’s getting. It’s cheap Mexican food, good, tasty, delivered quickly, and did I say cheap? It’s one of my favorite places to order from. I usually get the Steak+Tex Mex Chili Combo, which is under $ 6 and is really tasty. I’ve only had delivery thus far, so no comments on the décor or atmosphere, but I’d wager that if you’re looking for an elegant dining experience you may wish to consider other venues. But if you’re looking for good Mexican food on the cheap, this is the place to order from.

I came here for lunch once and I think it may be one of those last resort type of places for the future. This Tex Mex place seemed a little disorganized with taking and fulfilling orders. As well the person who took the order is also the one handing it out yet seems to hand the wrong order to the wrong person. This is normally alright when it’s very busy, but if there’s only 4 people I would presume you’d remember who got what especially when they’re quite varied. The food itself is mediocre but for the price I suppose it is semi-expected as well.

the search for a decent burrito in new york continues. i had the tacos al carbon from here the other night. i was very disappointed, especially since they were hanging a review from the new york times in their window. i figured that had to be good for something. i only gave this place two stars because of the price. how is it that new york has such amazing food, yet can’t do good, cheep mexican? its like DC and new york are exact opposites: there is no good cheap food in DC(pizza, sandwiches, etc…) but they had good cheap mexican, and new york has good cheap pizza and sandwiches and the like, yet no good mexican. has jerry seinfeld would say, «what’s the deal with that»?

I’ve only had delivery — never have been to the restaurant itself. The food arrives fast and there is lots of it on the cheap! I’m not talking gourmet — I’m talking tacos, enchiladas, tostada salads and burrito specials(I like the burritos the best.) Ask to see if your order gets chips/salsa included before you ask for an order of it!
