I should state I’m not a bar person. As I walked to Forkhold I knew this and was hoping that the patrons weren’t either. I was in for a surprise! Some friends and I went for a classic reggae and roots party and weren’t disappointed. The party started, but the promoter had all the lights on in the basement, which meant no one was going down there to stare in the face of other people. We headed back upstairs and got drinks at the bar. The owner(who I didn’t know was the owner) was really nice and friendly and the three bartenders were all curvy women with matching outfits(so cute!). Because of the amazing music that was being played I felt like getting a fun girly drink, which cost next to nothing. Yay! Finally, Brooklyn prices for drinks again! I can also say I got quite buzzed off of that girly drink too! After letting the promoter know that his party would be much, much better if he turned off a few lights, we headed downstairs again to amazing rare music. It was a great night, no drama, just folks in the neighborhood having a good time. The backyard is really nice and they also serve food. Happy I have another place to walk to with amazing music.
