This is becoming a «go to place» for business lunches for me. Food is very good, tables far enough apart that you can have a private conversation, and prices are reasonable for Midtown Manhattan. Not knock is that the service, while fast, is somewhat spotty.

Four of us had lunch on Monday afternoon. Wonderful food!!! One of the daily specials was crab ravioli with lobster sauce. Amazing! But 3 raviolis for $ 21??? And the cheapest bottle of red wine was $ 60. For the value, I’m rating it a 4. Also — check your bill. We were overcharged with 2 extra dishes! The waiter apologized profusely.

in spring of 2014, 3 months into me and my now husband’s relationship, he took me on a trip to new york! We stumbled upon this romantic restaurant by accident for dinner one night, and I’ve been trying to find it again ever since! we are coming back in May and will be stopping here because the food is excellent! absolutely delicious! It’s been 2 years and we still talk about how delicious the food was here!

Dining here was an awesome experience from the moment we walked in the door. The delicious smells, the welcoming service, the beautiful restaurant the marvelous meal, the wine. The specials sounded so great I didn’t even open the menu. The Bronzino was delicious and perfectly filleted. The grilled octopus is out of this world as is the lobster ravioli. What a great selection for a midtown evening out with friends. The crowd was both local regulars and out-of-towers. All 6 of us raved about the restaurant the rest of the evening. Yes, it’s pricey. $ 125 per person, they add the tip for you. 6 of us shared 3 appetizers. Drivers beware: on-street parking isn’t available until 7p, and local parking lots will run no less than $ 50

Incredible old fashion Italian restaurant with excellent food and wine choices. The staff’s very professional, helpful and most of all very friendly. Below street level entrance, love it and highly recommend it. Went again last night and was not disappointed.

Wonderful, attentive service. Delicious lobster ravioli special as appetizer and the grilled octopus was lovely too. I had the Bronzino fish special which was light, flaky and a perfect lemon and oil sauce. Very homey, romantic setting and great for conversation. Highly recommend!

Empty restaurant and wouldn’t seat a party of one. Snobby attitude for such cheap menu items.

I stopped by this cute, romantic restaurant by accident for an early dinner. Athough they weren’t open yet, they welcomed me to sit down and offered me a basket of delicious hot bread with three types of spreads – chickpea, pesto and tomato. The bread was soft and fresh and went well with the spreads. For my appetizer I ordered a white truffle risotto(it was the special of the day) which was absolutely delicious. It was creamy and topped with shaved truffle – it hit the spot since I was starving from spending hours at Central Park. For my entrée I selected the lobster pasta… it was amazing. It wasn’t too heavy but had a flavorful sauce, and there was plenty of lobster. Overall, I was extremely happy with my meal. My favorite part of the whole experience was the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional and looked as if they took pride in their services. I would definitely come back here next time with my boyfriend as it is a very romantic and quaint spot!

Beautiful restaurant tucked away below 50th St. with strong old-world Italian flare. Everything detail in dining experience aimed for perfection and authentic Italian style. The wine list was long and impressive. We ordered a cab on the dryer side which paired really well with our meal. They brought out a variety of fresh warm breads with three different spreads. We started with the burrata for two, which was presented as a whole and fashionable reassembled onto two separate plates with precision and outstanding presentation. For the main course, I ordered the Pollo Ripieno. The formation of the chicken, variety of mushroom, buttery spinach, fontina cheese and prosciutto San Daniele was impressive and unique. The fish was served with a generous pour of delicious Marsala wine sauce along with creamy mashed potatoes. After dinner, the waiter brought out a selection of complementary desserts and drinks. After we finished our limoncello, we were on our way, but sad to leave. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing. The place lacked confused tourists whining about prices. The pace of the service was perfect for a party with the intentions of enjoying a classical Italian meal.

The food was five star — excellent, old school Italian. We enjoyed the selection of bread as well. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. But I left with an uneasy feeling because it seems like a) the staff there don’t smile much, and b) who adds an auto 20% gratuity on a bill for three people? Has anyone else experienced the same? If so, please share! I eat out a lot and have never seen that before.

First of all, I have to say it was very good food and good service. To be honest we would not ever have stopped by if it was not for the groupon special. We stopped by on Saturday night and it was very happening among older crowd. Really old school décor and ambience — more like a grandma’s house stale than classical chic which is a pity I have to say. I think the ambience was a really stale for my taste considering it is not a budget dining place. Do not take a girl to impress if you still consider yourself somewhat hip and young. It seemed like a place that it lived its time and did not age well with time… I am not even sure some parts of the restaurant with low ceiling meets the building code limit. Needs an upgrade to survive this generation.

Looking for a romantic dinner with my wife in Midtown while visiting NY, and found DeGrezia on Unilocal. It’s got great old school Italian ambience, with outstanding food and impeccable service. Just what we were hoping to find, very pleased with everything about our meal.

I came for a work-related lunch and just asked the waiter for their best pasta dish. Best decision EVER! CAPELLINICONARAGOSTA is angel hair pasta with VERYFRESH lobster meat and and creamy lobster reduction sauce. It was so good that it lingered in my head for a few days and then I had to go back. The second time I went back, of course I got the Capellini con Aragosta again. But for appetizer, I tried the Napoleone di Verdure e Formaggi,(breaded fried eggplant, roasted peppers, roasted plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, ricotta cheese, fresh basil dressing and sicillian oregano). Delicious, but a bit pricey for an appetizer of its size. Overall, service is great and they also do private dining in the back.

Above average Italian restaurant reminding you of the God Father set… The staff is friendly but what is strange is nobody has one waiter… Everybody helps everywhere… The main course food was tasty and fresh — seafood pasta and mushroom pasta… Probably tge best pasta I had in NYC. The problem was the bread… At this price I expect freshly baked bread, or at-least freshly cut bread. Here the bread was hard and stale… A big disappointment… Show to me the lack of attention to detail!

The food at this place is fantastic. It’s the reason this restaurant has been in business so long. The décor is very charming as well. The dinosaurs that make up the wait staff are very professional and fit into the vibe of the place. Best octopus in the city…& all the pasta is homemade.

Just decent Neighborhood Italian. The ambiance is better than the food for the most part. My favorite dishes here are the pastas. The entrees are easily forgettable but not bad for a neighborhood joint. The sides that come with the entrees seem like an afterthought and they are repeated on many of the dishes. The service is pretty good. Some people seem to love the place, but I think their standards when it comes to Italian cooking are moderate, or that they are simply easily seduced by the dark and romantic atmosphere.

I went here with a bunch of girlfriends for my birthday dinner. Right as you enter, you know that you’re entering a traditional Italian restaurant that’s dark, candles everywhere with italian music as the background. We had a party of 7 and made a reservation before. The bread was delicious and I ordered the Capellini con Aragosta which is angel hair with lobster. It was one of the most delicious lobster pastas I’ve ever had. There were large chunks of lobster and perfectly buttery. The pasta was cooked al dente with this wonderful cream sauce. We were talking very loudly(7 girls) and it seemed like we were the only ones talking in the entire restaurant. Nobody seemed to mind but it’s just that type of restaurant that is more mellow and quite and romantic. Since it was my birthday, they were very sweet with a complimentary dessert with candles and«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate. All the waitstaff(all men) came to our table and sang Happy Birthday in italian to me which was very sweet. Amazing restaurant. One of my favorites. Definitely more geared toward date/intimate setting but the food is special.

Old school Italian. Amazing food and great service. The angel hair pasta with lobster was incredible as well as the veal milanese. The espresso was great too. Certainly worth checking out.

Came here for a girls night dinner. What a gem and hidden Italian restaurant. Food was great. Service was good. We caught up for hours and shared appetizers. UPloaded some photos of the dishes we had. Overall, good italian food, nothing out of the ordinary and would come back. ATmosphere seem a bit more dark and romantic. Not necessarily a place for girl conversations where we giggled like we were in high school again. lol
