I ordered delivery from here, and it didn’t look so great. I was hungry anyways, went to put the rice noodles into my soup, and discovered a bug. On top of it all, it was definitely a roach

During the two weeks I was in New York City this was the least appealing restaurant that I went to. The chicken I had was nearly tasteless and my wife did not like the roast duck.

Yummy and cheap Chinese food– perfect for ordering in. We got two of the dinner specials and it was just enough for the both of us. Out of this world dumplings, classic takeout Chinese food, and food prices. We also got our meal within 20 minutes(free delivery!) which is great!

I used to come here at least twice a month and was nothing but Amazing food and service. All of this changed when I recently ordered food on grubhub and they delivered me cold old noodles with meat, instead of the fried meatless rice I ordered. When I called grubhub they spoke with the manager and assured me my order would be replaced whenever I came and visit again. Fast forward to three weeks later When I decided to pay the location a visit and was greeted with«you waited to long to visit and we will not replace your meal call Grub Hub.» After speaking with grubhub and listening to the staff yell and tell the sweet guy on the phone My food can’t be replaced. Grubhub refunded my money and apologized for the misleading lie this establishment told them the night of my horribly wrong delivered order. And Because of this I willNever eat here again ! It’s a simple honor system and this place is shady and will screw you over. Please do not ever eat here in your life !!

This is a disgusting restaurant. I never, EVER write Unilocal reviews, but I am writing one for Chef Phở because of the absolutely horrible experience I have, and I never want anybody else to make the same mistake I did by giving this restaurant my business. I ordered the Chicken Phở on Seamless for delivery. Although the delivery was prompt, I was unbelievably disappointed when I received my order. The restaurant did NOT give me phở, and instead gave me some disgusting vegetable soup with dead and deflated vegetables and pink, sick chicken floating around in it. It tasted terrible, and was NOTHING close to Phở. I called the restaurant to receive a refund for the meal, and they were incredibly rude to me, and refused to give me a refund. Although my meal was only $ 10, they refused to admit that they served me a bad dish, and straight up held my money hostage. I had to throw the entire meal out, as it was too bad to eat. It was such a disappointing experience. I would NEVER give this restaurant my business, and I hope others learn from my extremely negative experience.

I am Chinese and this is the worst place to eat! First, the woman at the cashier is rude, disrespectful and don’t know how to talk to their customers. The Male is the same. When I asked to follow up on my take out, they were both very rude and annoyed for me asking. Now the food, I ordered roast pork over rice. This restaurant is catered to American taste. The rice taste like goya rice and the pork has smell on it already. I had to throw my food. I did not learn my lesson the first time I ate at this place(my work is next building). I ordered Hunan Beef. This time I did not throw it but the food was too oily. For what its worth, the waiters are nice! It is only people at the cashier that is nasty.

I was visiting for the weekend and since it was cold I was craving phở. So I googled some near by places and I ruled out the ones that were about to close so I could enjoy my food and not be rushed out. I found this one that said it closed at 11:30pm. I got there with a friend at 10pm and when we walked in the waiter said they were closing at 10:45pm that night. So we told each other, 45 min is more than enough time to eat. but soon as we got our food the waiter was over our shoulder asking if we were done and rushing us to leave. I understand the urge of wanting to go home but it wasn’t even 10:45 yet. Phở is a very sacred food I hold dear to me and the fact that I couldn’t enjoy it properly, really ruined my experience there

I came in at 10pm and I was quickly rushed to sit down and the guy practically stood over my shoulder reminding me they closed at 10:45. I will never be back to this place again! Between the lady at the checkout and the waiter, resulted in my terrible experience. According to the waiting, they didn’t even have sliced jalapeños to go with my phở!

Food was pretty good — we ordered a half peeking-duck and the string beans. I wonder if they use MSG…

This place when it was combined with the former Bo’s Noodle House was great, it was called Lucky’s and I always liked their standard Chinese food and the variety of Vietnamese options. It was closed for a while during the summer to be renovated, and it looks worse. I think it might be new owners/management. I didn’t recognize anyone on the staff. There was one tall waiter who was there for many years that came over from Bo’s when it was on the corner of 55th St. As for the disappointing food, we ordered the Spicy Hunan combo dish wish was overpriced at $ 16.88, but it was ok, the vegetables were obviously frozen from a package. The rip off really comes if you order the Vietnamese food that we were craving. The summer rolls and their version of Nem were very small with not much inside, a rip off at almost $ 8.00 per order Also the pork chop is very small and dry. I had to ask for sauce since it had no taste. Even the rice wasn’t good. They don’t offer any tea. I’m so disappointed because this place used to be really good. I will not return.

Good, Cheap Chinese food We recently dropped in more or less at random after being shut out for lunch at a nearby Ramen joint. We had noticed Chef Phở as we were walking by, decided to head back, and ended up very happy we did. We started with a few spring rolls which were in the words of my wife, «The best I’ve had in a long, long time.» We followed this up with three lunch specials — twice cooked pork, beef lo mein, and ma po tofu — as well as a curry noodle soup and a few more spring rolls. All were excellent… particularly for the price. In truth the twice cooked and ma po were a little underspiced to my taste and my sons… but perfect for my wife and daughter. The service was good if a bit abrupt and the décor was standard low end Asian. All in all, a great impromptu NYC find for good/cheap eats. Lastly, ignore the name. Like the cheese shop sans fromage there is no Phở and there is no reason to order the Peking Duck.

I don’t expect much from Chinese restaurants but this place has set a new low. Came after the theater for a quick meal. Decided to go with what they advertised in their name, except they DONTHAVEPHO. So we got the Peking duck. After we sat, the two other customers there(both waiting for their take-out) left and we were suddenly very aware of their lack of music. As others have mentioned, no rice buns here — only a few(MAYBE6?) small tortillas. Asked for more, explaining that there simply wasn’t enough for the meat and was answered with an «I know. 50 cents for each one you want.» Asked for chopsticks, received a SINGLE pair. Had to ask for the 2nd pair. The waiter had nothing better to do than STARE at us while we ate. We freaked out a little when a fly landed in our tea but he didn’t care and we didn’t bother asking for a replacement because… He brought us the check(before we even got to touch the additional tortillas) saying they were closing soon, and stood there waiting for the credit card, and eventually the receipt. Unbelievable.

Ordered the Curry Chicken Noodle Soup and Chicken Noodle Soup(large size) for pick up and wasn’t too happy about the Chicken Noodle Soup. It’s more noodles and less soup. I know, I know! Why am I complaining? Well you know Chinese soups always set such high expectations with more broth/water and less noodles. This was the other way around, so may be our expectations were wrong! The curry chicken noodle soup on the other hand was really nice on flavor(a bit greasy to my liking) but taste wise really nice. The chicken was roasted. 1 thing that I did not like is the chicken is roasted with skin on. Not good if you don’t like skin on your chicken! $ 19 for both, so price wise, quite decent!

This is a VERY dependable place when it comes to Chinese takeout/delivery in the HK area. The folks are fast and it’s nice for once to deal with a Chinese delivery guy who isn’t a total asshole or blames you tacitly for his life issues by greeting you with a scowl. The food itself is ok. You’re not going to get gourmet stuff, but you’re also not going to get dishes that are bottom of the barrel bad like in some other nasty takeout places. They also have some decent dinner combo specials, which is a nice departure from ordering overpriced a la carte in other places. They also have some Vietnamese options. While it’s not really über authentic, some of their stuff like the grilled pork chops or sauteed beef cubes are not bad. All in all a dependable neighborhood joint that is a solid three stars all around.

Let me start off by saying, I ordered the Peking duck, a crispy pork chop, and a sautéed baby boy choy; and the best thing I tasted during that dinner was the complementary white rice. Firstly, service was terrible. And that was NOT complemented by the food since it was also nasty. People who think this restaurant has good has not eaten good Chinese food. They also FORCE a 17% gratitude on your bill, which was way more than I was willing to pay given my experience there. Usually a fancy restaurant will charge you a gratitude if you have over a certain amount of people. My entire bill was only 50something. This will be my last time here, and I certainly do not recommend anyone going.

Pretty delicious Chinese and vietnamese fusion food. We ordered via Seamless, so we didn’t get to experience any of the pleasures of dining in with this establishment, but I was very surprised by how much food you got for what you paid. The next time I’m in NYC and am craving take-out, I’m definitely going to order this again. Might I recommend: the shredded chicken phở, hot and sour soup, and chicken with broccoli.

Ordered their soup dumplings and pickled cabbage with shredded pork noodle soup. I found both satisfactory, especially since the location is within walking distance and doesn’t require a schlep down to Chinatown for decent Chinese food. It’s more of a hale and hearty style rather than spectacular, and way better than buffet style Chinese food. Prices are reasonable too for being in this part of town. ~$ 8.25 + tax and tip for a bowl of hot noodles that you can eat and be out in less than an hour. Much more my speed than the hyped up noodle restaurant around the corner, that requires a 2 hr wait for a table. Service was speedy, restaurant was clean, they accepted credit cards(I must’ve met the minimum), and the ingredients were fresh and natural. It took more than a minute for food to arrive on the table since they cooked it fresh. I’ll be back for more. I’d suggest sticking with ordering menu items that are made from natural ingredients and sauces for the best choices.

Don’t be fooled, this place does NOT serve Phở. But they do serve Peking duck, and a helluva duck, I might add. Too bad they only give a small amount of tortilla wraps, 50 cents for each additional wrap. $ 1 for a bowl of rice. The rest of the food? Just A-OK. Most of the soups taste the same, kinda bland. Extra points for not having a line and getting food out pretty quickly.

Like that dude on «Mister Rogers», this place does have Speedy Delivery! I ordered in and got my food very quickly. It seemed hot and fresh and was reasonably priced. Sesame chicken was my order and usually that is a very flavorful dish. This was somewhat bland. Just nothing that stood out. It was fine, white rice was okay. The spring roll was ssuuuupppeeeerrrr greasy. I mean really greasy. I’d probably order here again if I thought about it. But it was nothing spectacular.
