I went here recently and I’m surprised to see that it’s already closed. It must’ve been within the last month and it was crowded when I went in there. But, the staff was pretty rude all around and this area is competitive for coffee, so maybe that has something to do with it. Being a barista myself, I know how frustrating customers can be and how early you’ve been up since, but it doesn’t mean that the customer experience has to take a toll. I ordered a latte(an expensive, but delicious latte) and chose not to get food since they had run out of most stuff(I visited in the afternoon) and had a minimal selection left. I took one of the last open tables and was listening to a podcast, so I guess it looked like I was sitting doing nothing. I got a couple of dirty looks from the staff, since it seemed like many of them wanted me to give up the table to some people that ordered food or had bigger parties, but I was a paying customer too and deserved that tiny table in the corner as much as everyone else. I’m not sure if this place is going to become another coffee shop, but I hope it’s one that’s friendlier, because the coffee was delicious and this is a great area for something like that.

BlueBird Coffee NY Manhattan East Village 3pm 18th November 2015 Four Stars This small coffee shop was the perfect shelter from this lightly misty day. The shop is cozy with olive drab/walnut wood. There is three bar seats inside and out. There is a low bench with a couple small tables. CCR’s Fortunate Son was blasting. They also played the entire CCR hit collection including but not limited to: Bad Moon Rising, Around the Bend, and Proud Mary. Happy Birthday to the wonderfully upbeat Australian barista behind the counter. I knew it was her birthday based on New Orleans Tradition of pinning bills on her shirt. She definitely brightened my day through her minute customer conversation. The way she said«dude» and«snickerdoodle» put a smile across my face. I had a flatwhite(which is also the wifi password). It came in light cobalt blue mug with white lining which matched the stools. The espresso was from Parlor Coffee which is kick you in the face bold with notes of charcoal and burnt caramel finish. The foam was light and sweet with a little heart shape foam art. Note: Kitchen Closes at 3pm.

We got two medium filtered coffees. Little bit on the sour side, but they were decent enough.

The avocado toast with egg is so good, I can’t wait to have it again. Bluebird Coffee is way out of my way to work, and the coffee shop next to my office has good avocado toast too, but I’m seriously considering a trip there tomorrow morning to have it for breakfast for the second day in a row. I also really liked the crowd there on the Sunday morning that I was there – lots of friendly dogs(mostly pugs) and people.

Good coffee, cute space. There about three small tables, enough space for a laptop of notebook. They also have a counter facing the window with three stools. I would definitely come back!

After I got over the sight of not one but three men urinating in broad daylight on the sidewalk at different points along 1st St on my approach, I made it in to grab a nice canele from the friendly staff. Saw their donuts and muffins on Food Curated, but there didn’t seem to be any left.

I’m not really a coffee person by any means, but I like the feel of this place. They have a very small and short menu so it makes the decision making really easy haha. There’s seating for maybe 9 – 10 people inside, and there’s about 3 stools outside too, so if you come during a busy time there won’t be much for a place to relax. Coffee is coffee to me so I don’t have an opinion on how things really taste, but the branding of this place is cute and homey. Probably won’t come back since I don’t hang out near here usually, but it was a nice experience!

Adorable coffee shop in the East Village! Bluebird is a small, rustic spot that is centrally located if you want to stop by and grab a quick breakfast. So charming! There is not a ton of space to sit here but they do have wi-fi so I was able to go through email while enjoying an iced coffee. They don’t really have outlets so it’s hard to do any real work — probably better that way, since seating is so limited. Coffee was good, but not anything super special. They also have a short food menu with options like avocado toast(yum!).

Bluebird Coffee Shop is a charming little rustic café in the East Village. There looked to be only one person working there, handling both the counter and baristaing. She seemed down-to-earth and was able to balance both well. My drink didn’t take long at all. I ordered a decaf cortado. I found it to be a bit on the bitter side and the pour could’ve been better, but that aside, it was still enjoyable. The vibe of Bluebird is what really got me. It was so quiet, with only mellow tunes playing over the speakers. There weren’t crowds of people rushing in and out of the café, but rather a trickle of customers coming and going. I sat on a stool outside in the shade of a tree and found it to be so relaxing. It was the perfect spot to sit and immerse myself in a book. Cannot wait to come back again, book in hand, soon. Note: Bluebird is suuuuper tiny. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re looking to sit with a large group of friends.

Solid coffee shop in the lower east side. Great drinks and pastry options. But what sets them back in my opinion is just how small the place is. Unless you walk in when someone is leaving, there are very limited options for seats here at Bluebird. And for a place that serves up some good coffee, I would hope that there are more seats. Place gets very crowded very quickly. I would only come back and grab a coffee to go next time.

Wonderful homespun café with amazing coffee and a small food menu. They now use Parlor Coffee. Avocado Toast is great. Biscuit Sandwich rules.(Especially with bacon) They bake all the pastries from scratch in the bakery downstairs. That means fresh out of the oven in the morning. Good place to sit with a friend or by yourself with a book.

Really bad service, got kicked out for instagraming my friend. The owner was very condescending and unreasonable. He looked really bad in front of his customers. Sorry dude, i guess my 10k followers might not be visiting your establishment anytime soon.

If I have to spend an hour in the luxury of a perfectly poured cup of espresso or coffee in New York City, make it the Bluebird for me. This is the quintessential little tiny espresso joint tucked away and hidden just enough to make you feel like you’ve been transported to java heaven. I adore this place and when I’m in the city, which is not often, and I want a great coffee experience, I’m happy when my rear end lands on one of their seats. The lattes are carefully poured, creamy, rich, just the right amount of bit in the espresso. The house coffees are bold, strong and flavorful. I just want to take this place home with me. Sad that it cannot be.

Cute neighborhood coffee spot. Very distinctive blue ceramic cups make the excellently made drinks taste all the better. They have a high-end La Marzocco espresso machine for those of you who care how it’s made(as I do). Staff is very friendly!

I met with a friend before our lunch plans with others and found this cute quaint café nearby. Good location right near the train station. It was very cold and got the tomato soup which was wonderfully flavored and acidic. My friend got a pretty artistic latte and cannelle which she enjoyed. The guys are very friendly and thought we ordered another cannelle which we didn’t but just let us have it. FYI This is a quick stop by place and not a place to linger, as it is quite tight and no bathroom to use. We will be back when in the area.

Bluebird is an adorable coffee shop. The shop itself is very tiny, like most specialty coffee joints in the city. But still carries its charm quite well. I had a soy cortado to stay. Nothing bad I didn’t like about it. Baristas were very kind. I love the wooden tables and their blue espresso machine. What brought me to Bluebird is the blue saucer. :-))

Prime location, accross the street from the 2nd ave F train, with large inviting windows that open up in the summer and vibrant, sky blue coffee cups and plates, matching bar stools, what looks like a beautifully reclaimed wood bar and exposed bricks, as well as a cast iron column that is reminscent of the industrial era facades on grand st in Soho. Albeit artfully crafted, tastefully decorated and well lit, and what at first seems like the type of place that one could perfectly spend an intimate evening with a laptop and crank out some panning around on autocad, think twice about it. Not a writer’s café, nor a readers café, since the music is relatively loud, nor a working café at all come to think about it, since there is no «customer bathroom». And a $ 5 min on cards. Cappuccino was a bit milky for my taste, as well as served in a sad cup that was spilling over with frothed milk, poorly wiped. A tearful cup in need of a tissue. Probably a wash… As delicious as cuisine can be, neatness and an eye for plating you’re product well can make or break a gastronomic experience.

I was here the other day for the first time and it was pretty good. I was kinda disappointed though that it had limited to no seating with no real food selection. However I came for the latte and not for the food. The latte was bold and full of flavor.

Super cute coffee shop! I had a cappuccino and a sausage scone. The sausage scone was so delicious! It was fluffy and moist with small bits of sausage. The cappuccino was strong enough for me. It was a perfect place to enjoy coffee and pastries in the morning. Great place to people watch as well!
