Yesterday, I had dinner with my best friend at Blossom at Carmine and boy was I pleased with all 3 courses! Everything was amazing from start to finish. For starters, we had the Buffalo Risotto Croquettes, which melted in your mouth. I had to keep closing my eyes just to take the flavors in. At the same time, we indulged in the Taco Trio which had a surprising layer of guacamole(always my favorite). The dipping sauce it came with was a bit too spicy for me, but my best friend enjoyed it. PLEASENOTE: I’m not a big fan of spicy food so if this is your thing, go for it! For the entrée, we had the Flatbread Pizza which is a grilled flatbread, layered with housemade marinara, cashew ricotta, ‘mozzarella’, caramelized onions, and sautéed kale. For dessert, we enjoyed the cheesecake. Overall, a wonderful experience.

With a vegan niece in town, we* thought it only hospitable to take her to a restaurant where everything was fair game. And you know what? Blossom is pretty good. Did I enjoy my Southern Seitan Sandwich and sweet potato fries? Actually yes, yes I did. Could I eat the same thing at many restaurants across this city, but with chicken instead of seitan, at a discount of $ 5? Yes, yes I could. But then again, I’m not going to argue that the seitan was too expensive, because I don’t really know what seitan is. When it comes to the vegetables though, things did seem a bit overpriced. For example, the sweet potato wraps: personally, I find $ 15 to be entirely too expensive for a few raw bites of sweet potato, jicama, avocado, carrot, with an unappealingly watery almond-ginger dipping sauce. My wife’s kale salad was run-of-the-mill and the buffalo croquettes were pretty bland, but I did like the mushroom phyllo wraps. Around the table, everyone seemed satisfied with their various carby choices(a seasonal risotto, and the ‘fettucini alfredo’). I do think just about everything could’ve been improved with a healthy dose of cheese, but I suppose that’s why I’m not a vegan. Overall though, you can get a decent meal here, whether or not you are a vegan. I think a better selection of booze would go a long way; Jim Beam should never be the only bourbon available, unless I’m in the basement of a fraternity. The things we do for family. ____________ *My wife thought this, which means I also thought this. I definitely did not think that she should stand in the cold outside a steakhouse while we ate and reconsider her life choices.

Oh I could eat here every night. What a flavor explosion! I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the tacos-we split both and both were amazing(my husband is an omnivore). For dinner, I had the«salmon» tofu which was my best vegan meal in months(sorry Candle 79-you are a close second!). My husband had the lasagna and loved it. For dessert(because why not) I had the tiramisu(I’ve had before. AMAZING) and my husband had the cheesecake. I have no complaints and my husband was VERY happy with his meal. Love Blossom!

We love to try vegan restaurants, especially when our vegan friends come into town. The food was great – packed with a lot of flavor, plated nicely. I had one of the specials– the cordon bleu. The fake meat was good, but the breading was a little too mushy for my liking. That didn’t stop me from devouring it! The desserts(especially the tiramisu) were lovely, though we waited a long, long time to get our dessert order taken. We had decent service at the beginning of the meal, but as soon as our meal came out, it was clear we were no longer a priority. We waited a long time to get our water glasses refilled, etc. A large party had just come in, but the server kept ignoring her other tables to tend only to them– getting their drink order, going back for the food order, etc. Meanwhile, all of the other tables were awkwardly looking around, waiting for the check or for any service… while the host and the second server/food runner stood around, doing nothing. Good food, but lazy service. If that’s something you can deal with, then you won’t be disappointed!

Had dinner here on a Tuesday night. Was surprised at how many people were there– it wasn’t full, but not at all empty either. The wait staff could have been more attentive. There was no one at the front to seat me when I arrived, but not because they were busy helping other costumers. Even when they noticed me, it took them another few minutes to come to the front of the house. However, the food was delicious. I had the beet«salmon» and my friend had the seitan sandwich with the garlic fries.(Everyone should taste these garlic fries!) It was all very flavorful– even the tofu, which risks being bland. The portions were not dainty either, as sometimes is the case at vegan/trendy restaurants. Neither my friend nor I are vegans and we both very much enjoyed dining here!

Go here! Quite pricey, however — so save it for special occasions. Everything I’ve ever had at Blossom was delicious. This is quite possibly the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to, and a favorite overall as well. The seitan masala is great. The chickpea fritter appetizer was so good. Yummy and creative presentation. A million times better than Candle Café. Cozy, nice space for dinner with friends or a date. They also have a private room and seating downstairs(came here for a bridal shower). Very friendly service, and seasonal menus.

Bravo to another fantastic, creative and delicious all-vegan menu!!! Well done, Blossom! You slay me!!! We got the buffalo risotto croquettes — HIGHLYRECOMMENDED, the seitan scallopini — good comfort food but next time I would try something else, and the tiramisu — TODIEFOR. Truly one of the best tiramisus I’ve ever had. Just heavenly. The wait staff was very kind and friendly and patient with my over enthusiasm. I recommend looking at all of the pictures here on Unilocal to help you pick your meal.

Judging by the reviews on Unilocal, this place is a hit or miss. For my wife and I, it was a hit! I am a vegetarian who is bordeline Vegan and this is now on my top list of places to eat. I like to rate a restaurant based on 4 important factors. 1. Quality of food. What we ate tasted delicious and filled us up. 2. Price. Compared to many other places the bill was unusually low. 3. Ambience. We were there right before closing, and the place was not very crowded, so I can’t speak on how they are during a busy day. The place looks nice. 4. Attitude of staff. Again, it wasn’t busy, and waiters are able to take their time and give more attention when it’s not busy, so I guess we lucked out-our staff was perfect.

This place is bizarre. I’ve come here for brunch, lunch and dinner and every time the staff are weird and rude. The host almost always seems to think I have his job, as I usually have to greet him first. When I came for brunch, he told me I could sit anywhere, then when I opted for the table at the window, he told me I couldn’t sit at that one. The restaurant was completely empty and I was the only customer. When I came for dinner with a friend around 8pm on a weekday, we were immediately reprimanded for not making reservations and were told the only place we could sit was at the bar. We had no problem with this, but again, a handful of empty tables remained vacant around us during our entire dinner. The southern seitan sandwich is incredible. This is saying a lot because I normally hate seitan. My only issue is whether you order it during lunch or dinner, you get the exact same thing, but it’s significantly more expensive during dinner. Wtf? In conclusion: between the snobby, aloof staff; delicious but insanely overpriced food and oversized blown up photos of vegetables on the walls, I can’t help but feel like this place is a SNL parody of pompous vegan restaurants. Chill out guys, it’s only food.

We came here for lunch for my bday. The ambiance is casual bistro. The drinks were fairly decent — I got the lavender tea which I quite liked and my boyfriend got the cold pressed green juice. In terms of food, the reason why we came here is because I am vegan and gluten free and thought would get bunch of options here. By they didn’t have gluten free bread so they couldn’t do any of the sandwiches. I then settled on getting the«huevos rancheros» which is basically tofu scramble, beans, melted daiya, sour cream, guacamole and toasted corn tortillas. There was not much I liked about the dish — it was bland at best. The tofu scramble didn’t have any flavour and I ultimately had to ask for hot sauce to make it edible. The melted daiya was elastic and had a weird texture since it was microwaved. The tortillas were crisp instead of soft and warm. The only saving grace of the dish was the sour cream and the guacamole. My boyfriend got the seitan cutlets which is actually quite liked, especially for someone who is a meat eater and tries to avoid eating vegetarian food when we are out. For next time, I would call ahead of time to make sure they have what I want on the menu.

We were offered the table in the front with the open window. While it was nice to get a coveted seat, I ended up wishing we had gotten another table. There is a lot of seating and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. I would have liked to have enjoyed my dinner inside instead of having to smell cigarette smoke from outside. We started with the gnocchi appetizer; there is not many gnocchi but the greens and sauce do well at competing for tasty attention. I ordered the seitan piccata for dinner and it was delicious. The seitan had a great crispy exterior. Underneath the cutlets was creamy truffle oil mashed potatoes and sautéed kale, all topped with a lemon white wine sauce. For dessert I chose the vegan tiramisu. It was enjoyable but it lacked the lady finger part. I missed the soaked cake layers that is essential to a classic tiramisu. I also thought the serving was too large. I wish it was a little bit smaller and cheaper. I suggest this for their dinners too. I could have had less than the three cutlets of seitan for a lower price and would still have been plenty full.

I like this place. From the food, to the drinks, to the ambiance, to the service, all hit the mark. We started with the Ceasar salad, which was easily the best vegan Ceasar I’ve ever had. No clue how they were able to make the dressing that good without anchoivies, but they did. We also had the scallopini and flatbread, which was more than enough for two people. Would like to come back to this or the other location on my next visit to try even more…

Meh. I heard great things about Blossom, but I was not impressed. Positive: the hostess was friendly and seated us right away even though our whole party was not there. I liked my food(seitan au poivre), but I thought it was slightly pricey. And then the rest: Our waiter kind of sucked. Never checked on us. The chef initially didn’t want to replace my garlic fries with beans then said he would with an upcharge, then finally agreed to do it gratis. This was sort of annoying but in the end I got my way(dietary restriction). The other members of our party thought the food was mediocre to poor. The quinoa salad was bland and my friend basically wasted it.

I dunno, I wanted to like this place, I really did, but it did not satisfy. Our group ordered the Seitan Steak, Pine Nut Crusted Eggplant, Quinoa Salad, Corn Chowder, and the brownie for dessert. The steak and eggplant were both decent, but the quinoa and chowder were less than impressive – rather bland and seemed like they were missing something. We actually had leftovers of the latter two, but chose to pitch them rather than take them home. Also, we asked if there was any way one of the veggies could be substituted, and that seemed to be a problem, at least initially. They did finally accommodate it because it was due to a diet restriction. The brownie kind of upset me. At $ 15 I really expected something divine, but the group was sorely sorely disappointed by it. I suppose there is only so much you can do with a vegan brownie, but I’ve had wayyyyy better at a fraction of the price at cafes around the city. Yes, I sound pretentious, but what would anyone expect for a brownie at that price point? Service was ok, one of our friend’s cocktails was forgotten about, but when we asked on the status of it, the waiter seemed irritated. When it arrived it tasted mediciney(totally could be the style of the drink, I’ll give that to them), so she asked for a bit more simple syrup. This was gladly done, but a mysterious $ 1 surcharge appeared below the drink when our bill arrived. Our waiter was helpful in suggesting dishes for the group and explaining the cocktails, however. The experience was a solid two stars, though I really do feel bad about it. Maybe I’d try it again or another location, but I doubt anytime soon.

One of the best vegan meals I’ve had! My friends and I made reservations for a Friday evening around 7pm and the place was pretty busy! We were seated downstairs, but I definitely preferred that over the busy upstairs. We all ordered the blueberry mojito to start & it was delicious! Perfectly balanced with the amount of sweetness, alcohol & blueberry flavor. For our appetizers we ordered the buffalo croquettes, which were so full of flavor! We each ordered a different entrée from the flatbread, enchiladas, pasta & «steak» & all were amazing! My favorite was the enchiladas with mole sauce, it had a lot of flavor & spice & really brought the dish to another level! Service here was great as well!

Walking in I was a little surprised by the high prices. But then sitting down and taking in the atmosphere, I kind of understood what kind of place I was in. It was very clean, charming, and nicely decorated. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and willing to help. I got the vegan enchiladas, which were DELICIOUS. Worth every penny. The portion was reasonable and the food itself was flavorful and enjoyable. I tried some of my friend’s mash potatoes and garlic fries and they were phenomenal as well. All in all, a great experience in a beautifully decorated environment. Comfortable seats and comfortable atmosphere. Not really a place I would frequently visit due to price, but I will definitely come back for a nice dinner once in awhile.

Being a more upscale vegan cuisine, I decided I needed to up my vegan curiousity. I have eyed Blossom for some time now after visiting Ellary’s Greens.(And of course the picture of the restaurant on Unilocal is just so inviting!) I decided to come here with a group of friends one night too impatient to wait in line for other restaurants in the area. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who seated us promptly. The interior is nice inside but not over the top like I thought it would be after seeing pictures online. Maybe its also because it was mad dark inside. I will probably have to come back to take a look during the day. Everything on the menu seemed so delicious so it was hard to choose. We eventually decided on the salmon tofu and the vegan lasagna to split between 3 people and the portions were definitely big and filling and our dishes Salmon tofu: i loved this dish, it was so artistically done. The tofu had a beautiful pink colored since it was marinated in beet juice and a nice fishy flavor. Loved the dill sauce with the«fish» tofu. The black rice was excellent and seasoned well. Loved the charred mushroom«scallops» as well. Everything about this dish was great. Lasagna: was not too crazy about this dish. Not as veggie packed as I would have liked and i couldn’t taste the sweet potato like it said in the menu. The quinoa layers was a little messy, maybe veggie layers like zucchini would have been better. The sauce was also a bit watery and salty. We all agreed that the«cheese» was a little funky and bitter. But for a vegan dish, it was fine just not as good as the salmon tofu. Just would have liked to see more veggies in this dish because it is a vegan restaurant. Also did not like the arugula on top hiding the lasagna.(sorry for being extremely picky) Our waitress Melissa R. was very sweet and accomodating! She took our 15% off Unilocal check in as well.
