When I moved to the 80s at the beginning of the year, I was overjoyed when I realized that the UWS Blossom Du Jour location was walking distance from my apartment. The Chelsea location has been my go-to vegan lunch spot for almost a year now, and it never fails to disappoint. This spot is equally clutch. Blossom Du Jour is my version of fast food, so whenever I’m pressed to find a meal, I usually end up here. Like I said, it never fails to disappoint. Like the Chelsea location, this Blossom Du Jour doesn’t offer much in terms of seating. But what it lacks in «dine-in» options, it easily makes up for in menu splendor. You really can’t go wrong here. And let me repeat, this is 100% VEGAN. So if you’re on the plant-based kick but don’t feel like cooking yourself an elaborating quinoa stir fry at home, this is one of the best alternatives out there. And even if you’re a happy omnivore who just likes to switch it up sometimes, I can assure you that Blossom Du Jour does a great job of helping you to forget that you’re not eating meat. I mean, if you order anything their«un-chicken», you will be very aware that you are being served fake meat that tastes nothing like the real thing. But if you get more adventurous, prepare to get happily lost in the world of vegan cuisine. My go-to at Blossom Du Jour is their Blossom Bowl. Everything I’ve tried here has been delicious. Tofu scramble, the kale, sweet potatoes, tempeh bacon… and of course, the tahini dressing. When I order the tofu scramble, I typically ask for hot sauce on the side, but otherwise I go with the tahini every time. You won’t regret doing the same. The Karmic Kale wrap is another go-to of mine – equally delicious. A few more notes: –Service is friendly and efficient. What more could you want? –Blossom has upped their prices recently(sometime in the last few months). While this was initially quite disconcerting, I’ve made peace with it. Why? Because they actually give you a reason. If you look up at the menu, you’ll notice that under each category, the name of a charity is listed. Every time a person orders from a specific category, money goes towards its corresponding charity. Because I typically order blossom bowls, I’ve helped to support Equine Therapy(which I can attest is legit and can be very powerful if you allow it to be). It’s a heartwarming feature that I almost never see at eateries, so I don’t fret over the extra buck or two that I spend now. –In terms of the vegan food that’s out there, this isn’t the healthiest. I guess that’s how it fits into the«fast food» category(also because it is food and it is fast… ya know). I suppose this is how it can appeal to all folks – you can still get your greasy grub on here. By no means am I saying it is UNhealthy, but it’s not always going to be «clean».

Buffalo wings taste like spicy freezer burn. Burger bread roll rubbery and burger wasn’t cooked through Very disappointed.

I want to like this place so badly, as we need more vegan options in the city — but there seems to be no decent management or consistent service. Not to mention they are ALWAYS out of items. Not to mention it’s super pricey for«fast food.»

I had learned of Blossom at the NY Vegetarian Festival and stopped in when I found myself famished and looking to eat something healthy. I stopped in on a weeknight. Its a small shop with counter seating. I had vegan burrito and would definitely come back. Just delicious. Simple. Well-priced. I wish I had this around the block.

Great vegan food! Nicest folks in NYC! Any questions you have about that kind of vegan they will answer with attention! Glad I went may even consider being vegan :)

Great concept, and fast, friendly service. The food however, really missed the mark. I ordered the Kale Wrap, and for $ 9.25, I was expecting more than a small tortilla filled with oily kale and a couple chunks of overly sweet sweet potato. Severely lacking in flavor and texture. I also got a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, which was horrible. No peanut butter flavor at all-in fact, it tasted so strongly of anise/black liquorice that I couldn’t eat it. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing, but I feel really unsatisfied having spent $ 14 on a mediocre(at best) meal. I would be willing to try this place again. Maybe.

«Yay! I’m a fan.» Love that tahini dressing, it makes anything taste amazing.

This is a great place to stop in for a quick meal to go, though they have maybe 1 or 2 seats so don’t count on dining in. I’ve had several of the sandwiches and I tend toward the burgers. I recently had the onion rings, which were okay, though I felt the portion was really small and they didn’t seem«greasy enough»(is that okay to say?) :) The vegan shakes are always amazing!

Where to start? Though the menu is simple compared to the fancy highly marked up vegan/vegetarian restaurants of Manhattan(i.e. Pure food), Blossom du Jour offers quick and delicious bang for the buck. I order from the 81st location roughly 3 – 4 times a week, and have also whipped out their app to satisfy the tummies of family and friends who are over at mine — from the finicky one that’s allergic to life, to the carnivores, and the vegans; all are grinning like Cheshire cats, before and after the meal. Success! After trying the entire menu a few times over, here are the items that are all time personal favorites: Kale Salad Protein Bowl Rosemary lemon chicken sandwich Karmic kale wrap(gluten free brown rice wrap version is much better) Skip the breakfast. Unless you like cheesy tofu, a lot. The snacks are underwhelming. Smoothies: all of them are thick and perfect amount of sweetness. Simple ingredients, but good add/ons(ex: spirulina) for the smoothie connoisseurs who desire ingredient lists within double digit range. In summary: feast here and enjoy the perk of saving a creature or two while you’re at it

Really amazing tasting food — even if you think you’re not into vegan. The buffalo wrap, midtown melt, chili and Butterfinger milkshake are amazing. Unfortunately, the shop is badly run. Very inconsistent. You can’t guarantee they’ll have anything on any given day. Disappointing.

The food is good and the service is actually quite fast. Everything is vegan, so the options can be overwhelming for those of vegetarians used to typical quick service places where there are only a couple options. We had: –Un-chicken Avocado Griller. The sandwich was great overall, but the standout was the great bread. –Power-up! Kale Salad. Quite delicious, particularly the dressing. It is just sitting in the fridge so you can grab and go. –Green Giant Smoothie. So good! Creamy and filling. Made in about two minutes. Will get again! Most stuff is around $ 10 so more reasonable than other vegetarian places in the city, but it is quick service so I suppose that is to be expected.

Blossom Du Jour is the vegan go-to equivalent of fast food made somewhat-healthy-without-sacrificing-greasy-goodness. Things you need to know before coming here: 1) Get the«Midtown Melt», extra avocado 2) Get the fried onion rings(one of the only places in NYC with vegan onion rings! 3) 100% vegan 4) Repeat #1 and #2 Things to consider if you still have room or want something for later: + All sandwiches and wraps here are amazing, the meatball sandwich isn’t a favorite of mine but I never liked those even as an omnivore. + There are some seating but it is really a quick-stop kind of place to get some deliciously greasy food in large portions, cheap. + Service here is always friendly and you’re always helped with a smiling, bright young face behind the counter. +/-A lot of people enjoy their desserts, but honestly I’m not the biggest fan. They register maybe a 6.0÷10.0 on this fat vegan’s tummy-rumbling Richter Scale.

Awesome healthy comfort food, vegan style and inexpensive. Yes, all those concepts happen together here. They also have breakfast all day everyday too. Open early, close pretty late too! M-F own at 7:30 am, 9 am Sat, 10 am Sun! Earliest vegan breakfast around the UWS! Breakfast try the«Egg, cheese, & bacon muffin»(vegan) and add their v-hollandaise. For other times I like the Midtown Melt or Karmic Kale Wrap. Mmmm.

So happy Blossom came to my neighborhood. I love the gluten free bread they use for their sandwiches. They could use a few new gluten free options, but overall I’m a big fan.

Amazing vegan fast food! My faves: THEBENEDICTWRAP! *canteven* Buffalo tenders/wrap Powerup Kale Salad– awesome dressing!(kinda pricey at $ 11.50) Always friendly service and the food comes out pretty fast. I MUST know what they are marinating their tofu! So much flavor! I love love love meat, but if you’re trying to convince a friend to try something different, take them to Blossom du Jour, then take them to Blossom(full service restaurant) — life. changing. Go now!

Okay this is one of my favorite vegan places… everything here is so delicious AND it’s super close to where I live. score I’ve only done take-out because there isn’t much seating here(plus I have yet to find many people who are willing to eat at vegan restaurants with me) but the sandwiches have held up very nicely and are always extremely filling. I love their midtown melt and the unchicken avocado griller. I’ve also tried the unchicken tenders which is kind of a small portion(but it’s also relatively cheap) and their oatmeal harvest cookie(a tad sweet for my liking, but very delicious and satisfying!).

What’s delicious, Kosher and Pareve(vegan)? You’ve guessed it, the food at Blossom Du Jour! The seitan philly cheese«steak» was even better than the typical philly cheese sandwich(not to mention it’s guilt free). The food was pipping hot, and packed with flavor, they did not skimp on the onions and peppers. The chipotle aioli was a nice touch. Oh and did I mention it was oozing with cheddar, it might as well have been a wrap concert(that almost worked, if it wasn’t on a baguette and the cheese is daiya). You can always go for the salad, gluten free wraps, or cold pressed juice if you want something light. If you have a sweet tooth like me, they have shakes and desserts(brownie, anyone?). As far as ambience: clean, bright, and simple. There is limited seating, a few small tables by the wall and numerous seats along the window. I didn’t bother to ask if the ingredients are locally sourced, organic, fair trade, etc. but I know one thing for sure, this is a great fast food restaurant and a healthier alternative to the typical work week lunch menu. The sweets and Philly cheese steak, not so much.

The farthest-north PayPal-accepting spot at the time, I dropped in to redeem a $ 10 offer and the service was down(PayPal server side, not Blossom’s issue). The staff(5 of them, which I imagine they’ve scaled down as they’ve been open longer) just awkwardly kept my shake and cookie order in a holding pattern. Their brownie is really forgettable, and their Blossom Butterfinger shake is decent given the circumstances, served with the thinnest shake straw ever(not something to be proud of). Tiny Edamame Quinoa(misspelled as ‘edmame’ on menu WAY above registers) $ 4.75 Tax $ 0.42 Special Offer -$ 5.00 Total $ 0.17

I am in hog heaven lately with the proliferance of vegan and vegetarian casual dining options springing up in NYC– and so too I’m sure are the hogs! Blossom Du Jour, Blossom’s casual vegan takeaway version, recently reopened on the UWS on Amsterdam Ave. The location is clean and bright with a few seats at the window counter if you want to dine-in. Staff was friendly and helpful, made some great suggestions when I was torn between all the yummy options. They have sandwiches, wraps, salads and«burgers» as well as an array of beverage options. I tried the«Chikn» Cesar sandwich the first time and found it to be delicious! The taste was excellent and even though I found it a little pricey, the amount of food you get makes it pretty worthwhile. $ 8 – 11 is the general price range. Vegan, vegetarian friendly and very inviting for the meat eater as well.

This is a new location of Blossom that opened about a week ago. I had previously gotten take out from Blossom Du Jour II(nearby also on Amsterdam) so was curious about this new one. Same menu but this location is awesome! Definitely worth checking out. It is a small café but there is a good amount of seating, with two small tables when you first walk in, and also a bar-style seating area with stools. I sat at the bar which overlooks the window outside and has plenty of room. The staff at this location are great! The cashier recommended that I try The Little Italy, which is basically a vegan meatball sub. It was delicious. The second time I was here, she recommended that I try the Un-Chicken Avocado Griller, which was also a great choice. The sandwiches are very filling and best of all, everything in the café is vegan. I can’t wait to try more items. The nice seating area makes me more inclined to go to this location than the other one on Amsterdam. At the other location, I wanted to sit and eat but there are only a few chairs and the seating area is kind of crammed in the corner. At this new location, I felt much more comfortable as it is more spacious and inviting. The overhead music was also nice– not too loud and great songs. Even though it is a vegan«fast food» place, it doesn’t have that type of vibe that accompanies say, McDonalds. Overall yes– go visit Blossom! If you are looking for a sit down with table service then this is not the place for you, but for a quick bite it is wonderful.
