I love every single taco. The Seoul one is probably my favorite, but they are all delish! I just hate having to find the location.

The best– nothing better on a laid back night than a beer and Taceaux Loceaux. Get the messin’ with Texas– like no brisket you have ever had!

AMAZING I love tacos, and Taceaux Loceaux has amazing tacos. And then its gets better: avocado fries. Fried to crispy deliciousness and served with a sriracha dipping sauce, you can’t get much better than that. Unfortunately, avo fries are not a regular occurrence, so you can be like me and stalk them on Facebook or twitter to see if they have them that night. Great tacos, fresh ingredients, quick service and reasonable prices.

I just love everything about Taceaux Loceaux. I always try to bring out of town guests to try it out, especially the ones from CA and they’re always impressed with the flavors! Keep it up!

TL, I WANT to love you. I want to so badly. You’re always at the King Pin which is a stone’s throw away, and the tacos are so. delicious. But last time, I waited for FORTYMINUTESFOR A DANGTACO. OUTOF A TRUCK. Seriously, forty minutes. The peeps inside were apologizing, but seriously. Look, this isn’t a deal breaker for me. I still love you. But I am seriously hesitant now. I would have just ditched and gone somewhere else if I hadn’t been bringing the tacos back to someone who was stuck in bed and dying for them… But on the real, all the tacos are delicious. But that wait…

This review will be revised in the future but my first experience at Taceaux Loceaux was not a good one and it was partly my fault. I ordered the beef brisket tacos and they were ok though when I looked at the bottom of the plate and saw the pool of grease I almost vomited. Then to compound the problem I wanted to try some of their hot sauce and it would flow out the bottle easily so when I squeezed I got way more than I wanted and after finishing the tacos I mad a b-line to Wendy’s for a frostee to cool my burning mouth. I am sure my next experience will be much better thoughI dont often trek that far uptown.

Gabe and I finally chased this truck down at The Kingpin. We got there late, around 10, and there were a good crowd in line for these tacos. This location doesn’t have any place to sit outside so we took our food and beer to the curb and used the pavement as our table. It was great! The avocado fries were good. We look forward to eating more of these tacos at another location soon.

The tortillas are not very good. I think I like traditional tacos better. I don’t like cheez-wiz ever. I tried two kinds of tacos — both had the wiz. It’s better than a fast food place if you happen upon it and want a snack. But, I will not ever be going out of my way to eat this. The best I’ve had in this city are outside of BJ’s in the Bywater at a table late on a Thursday night. They made the tortillas and the ingredients were perfect — with a lime wedge. Must have a lime wedge.

Damned fine tacos and excellent service. Finally made my way to the truck tonihgt after seeing so many positive Unilocal reviews for so long. Looked it up on Twitter and it said they were located at «The Kingpin.» I looked it up and saw it was a dive bar. Not really my thing, but I was craving these things after reading the reviews. Upon arriving at The Kingpin, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a stone’s throw from Creole Creamery. I told myself,“At the very least, this was worth the trip because the damned fine Creole Creamery will compensate for any possible(albeit unlikely) shortcomings of Taceaux Loceaux. Thankfully, Taceaux Loceaux didn’t disappoint, and here we are giving credence to a 5 start review. I don’t remember the names of all of the tacos, but I tried all 5. We had a group of 3 and thought it best to get them all. At this point I want to address a complaint someone had in another review about the price of the tacos. Each order of a single type of taco will run you $ 5 – 7, and that comes with two tacos. You can make a meal off of one order easily. Or you can gorge yourself with 10 tacos and 3 friends. :D The brisket and pork(Carnalitas) tacos blew our fsking minds. This is to take absolutely nothing away from the remainder of the menu. Their vegetarian option is extremely flavorful and hard to put down. That leaves us with two remaining taco options; a second pork option(Kermit’s BBQ) and a chicken taco. Both were very flavorful and absolutely delicious. The sauces accompanying the table were excellent as well. I could wax eloquent about every single taco, but it’s 2:20am and I’ve got laundry to do before I can get to bed. Quit reading and get your ass to Taceaux Loceaux. Ask for Trevor. He’s a bearded gentleman who was extremely informative and patient as we discussed each option with him. Remember, you don’t need cash because they take cards, but if you are going to the truck and it’s near Creole Creamery, bring some cash because those jagaloons still refuse to take my plastic.

Ahhh it just doesn’t do much for me. I’m just not the food truck type of person I guess. When I walked up to order the truck was surrounded by what looked like a vagabond band of gypsies but as I got closer it was just a bunch of nasty hipsters. None of them seemed to be giving any business to Dos Jefes where the truck was parked and if I were a business owner I don’t think I would like this ragged band of really stoned looking kids hanging around outside my place of business scaring off my customers. I got the brisket and chicken tacos which for the price of $ 13 I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and gotten an iced tea, a table, and service along with my food. One of the primary benefits of truck food I thought would be fast service but not so much as there was a decently long wait as there were so many hipsters waiting for their stoner fix munchies. I thought the chicken tacos were ok while I found the brisket to be really greasy. My favorite thing was the spicy habanero pepper sauce which gave a nice burn and flavor to the tacos. When I think of a taco food truck I’m thinking of paying $ 2-$ 3 for some super spicy real Mexican tacos that take about 2 seconds to get as that’s what I got all the time in Texas. I’m all in favor of doing any sort of business we can in New Orleans so I’m very happy these food trucks are doing well and its great they make some people happy but they definitely are NOT my thing!

Ehhh. Really not all that impressed. If you’ve had The Kogi Truck in LA you will be terribly disappointed. Place is alright for NOLA truck food, but nothing that should blow your mind. More hype than anything.

Brisket and pork tacos are out of this world. After having Taceaux Loceaux the first time outside of 45 Tchoup I immediately began stalking the truck on Twitter to find out where it was. Get some.

I have only tried the Carnital Knowledge, which comes with pulled pork, radishes, cabbage and a chipotle aioli, but I will definitely be coming back to try the others. The veggies tasted fresh and the pork was soft, moist, and warm. I loved how they matched light sweetness of the corn tortilla, cabbage, and radish with the mild tanginess of the aioli and the pork; well composed, simple, absolutely delicious. Someone had taken the last menu before I ordered, but the guy behind the counter gave me a quick description of each option to get me going in the right direction and brought my food out within the next 5 minutes; so needless to say, I was pretty happy with the service as well. I’m very interested in seeing where this small business is headed because they have a lot to offer.

Considering that I have had these yummy tacos for two Friday night dinners in a row, I think I might be hooked on this stuff. I keep trying something new each time so that I can be sure I am not missing out on something fabulous, so far the«Mess with Texas» is a favorite! I hope to eat my way through all option by the end of the summer! p. s. the only reason they didn’t get 5 stars(BOBBY B.) is the fresh fried chips were super greasy and stuck together so that some were crisp and some were totally soggy, the salsas, however, were great!

I’ve had Taceaux Loceaux from their truck on night in front of The Kingpin. I wanted to write a glowing review for their iSupercabre! goat taceaux but a mobile truck doesn’t really have much of a listing, so I included it on my review for Kingpin. Where to start? Best. Fries. Ever. They call it the BFE and they are right. Sliced fried avocado lightly fried and served with chipotle aioli. WHEREHAVEYOUBEENALLMYLIFE? I can’t praise these enough. What about the taceaux? the iSupercabre! is a truck only so this night I decided to go with the Seoul Man, «Bulgogi Chix, Shredded Cabbage, Cilantro, Pickled Red Onions, Sriracha Aioli on Flour Tortilla». The flavor profile on this is incredible. The pickled onions work amazing against the aioli and cilantro. This is my second favorite taceaux. So we’ve got the what and the who, now for the where. Normally Taceaux Loceaux is served from a truck but this kitchen is set up right inside Chickie Wah Wah, a pretty nice bar/music venue. Only been there this once and it was loud, but it’s a music venue so that’s expected. They have a patio area I didn’t try since the New Orleans heat was in full effect. Combine the bar with delicious taceaux and this is a good place to get some grub and listen to some tunes. One last note: Best. Fries. Ever. And only at this Taceaux Loceaux location.

I did my last review on the old address so let’s put one up here too and give it the respect it deserves. The girly(Should I just start capitalizing the G?) loves tacos. It’s a craving she’s had to live without quenching since we moved her here. Personally, I’ve never been a big fan. Who wants some greasy unidentifiable mess with questionable toppings and gritty tortillas? Sounds like a winner to me. But what they serve here(And on their truck) are anything but greasy or questionable. What they serve here are innovative spins on what I normally consider a boring subject. They call these taceaux… and they deserve a name of their own. Whoever came up with the idea for the Messin’ with Texas gets a well deserved hats off. Seasoned Slow Roasted Brisket, Shredded Cabbage, Radish, Cilantro, Crema & Salsa Picante on Flour Tortilla. Savory, not too spicy but not boring in any way. In a way, it’s the taco equivalent of a perfect roast beef poboy with gravy and debris. You feel like they just couldn’t cook the meat for less than 12 hours. It’s that good. We also like like the Carnital Knowledge. Slow Cooked Pork, Shredded Cabbage, Radish, Cilantro, Chipotle Aioli on Corn Tortillas. ANd yes. that actually reads radish. And i don’t know who came up with radish on a taco, but bless them. If you are into a little spice(read heat) then I’d suggest doing one of two things. Either buying an order of the AIEEE! Which is their hot taco of choice. Andouille, Sauteed Jalapenos/Serrano/Chipotles, Spicy Beans & Rice, Green Onions, Crema & Salsa Picante on Corn Tortillas. It’s a great little spicy taco, but my personal choice is just getting your regular favorite(Messin’ with Texas) and slathering on some of their awesome home made Habanero sauce. So good. As Jess said, they have some amazingly creative veg-head options as well. Couple that with friendly staff and being inside a wonderful non-smoking club/music venue, then what you have is a little heaven for those of us who like food, like music, like adult beverages and like clean air.

Two words: Fried. Avocado. I’m not kidding. They call this dish BFE: Best. Fries. Ever. Which is a great way to describe them, if you ask me. Why didn’t someone think of this long, long ago? Seriously. Everything is good when it’s fried. And avocado is good on, like, everything. Food Epiphany: Fried. Avocado. The dude who came up with this should get a raise. And have a national holiday named in his honor. National BFE Appreciation Day. We could replace President’s Day or something. Anyway, I always thought Taceaux Loceaux was a food truck or something, which I’d become ambient-ly aware of via the Twitterverse and the Facebook. They’ve been great at leveraging social media to communicate with the world about their taco truck business(and I think, now that you mention it, that I did once see a truck outside Dos Jeffes… that night is a little hazy), so they managed to infiltrate my social media streams successfully, and thus I was aware there were taco trucks with a really hard to spell name floating around somewhere. Since I’m mostly vegetarian-ish, I never thought to go out of my way to get food from Taceaux Loceaux, because I assumed they wouldn’t have anything I could eat. Tacos are meat, right? Nope. Taceaux are apparently available in vegetarian and vegan form, as well. Oh, and they make fish tacos, too. Taco Truck: Fried. Avocado. Had I known that they served«jessie chow» from their taco trucks, I probably would’ve been more interested. If I’d known that they were selling heaven on earth in the form of… Fried! Avocado! With aioli dipping sauce. Tonight I learned that Taceaux Loceaux is more than a food truck. They are also serving EPIC bar food(!!FRIEDAVOCADO!!!) at my new favorite bar ever, Chicke Wah Wah. So they now have a shiny new business listing for their shiny new kitchen on Canal Street. Other things that impressed me: They take credit cards, using Square, the iPhone/iPad credit card processing app/device/thing. At first I thought they were cash only. Brilliant! Friendly staff. Vegetarian and vegan options. Chefs/Owners who are excited about making great food and take it very seriously. How seriously? Fried. Avocado. Okay, I think that’s all you need to know for now. Go! Check out the BFE. They’re the new Tacho.(Sorry, 13 Monaghan. The best thing to do would be to deploy a 13 Tacho Truck or three and sell tachos, as well as deliver them to my house. That would be awesome.) One last time. Fried! Avocado! BFE! Best fries ever!
