As a 100% 2nd generation Italian, let me tell you Aiello’s is the real deal. Coming from Roxbury back in the day when we were surrounded by Italian immigrant-run delicatessens with exceptional cold cuts, all of the Aiello stores stand up to those long ago standards. You can smell the freshness as soon as you enter the store! Their Italian sub could rival any of those from the North End(or even NYC) freshly sliced fresh onto the crusty roll with your choice of add-ons. They also carry FRESH ricotta and speck(smoked prosciutto) along with many other Italian delicacies, breads and desserts. Although I make the majority of my meals myself, I have to admit Aiello’s chicken parm is delicious! Not that oily fried variety either. Theirs is tender, lightly breaded and surrounded by an amazingly good marinara sauce. Try it, you’ll like it!

Alfredo Aiello sells some of the finest food around, Italian or otherwise. I used to patronize their Norwell store quite frequently when I lived in the area and never came away unsatisfied. They carry a wide variety of delicious prepared dinners, Italian meats, desserts… you name it! You can really taste the quality in all of their foods. Of particular note are the chicken parmesan, scali bread, cannolis, Sicilian pizza, Anise cookies, and homemade pasta/ravioli. They additionally sell some tasty homemade Italian cheeses and sauces which complement both their products, as well as meals of your own creation! Also worth noting is the sizable selection of Italian imports: they carry lots of hard-to-find Italian cookies, sodas, candies, and sweets here. Customer service is always top-notch, as well. I have interacted with many of their employees and they are always so friendly and eager to help. The only downside would be the higher-than-average prices, but it’s a small premium to pay given the unparalleled quality. The South Shore is very lucky to have Alfredo Aiello, especially since there are few other Italian restaurants/markets of this caliber in the area.

Best sandwich in the area. Each sandwich sliced to order. Meatball & cutlets as well. Yum. Crusty roll makes it a winner

I love Aiello’s– great pizza, tasty frozen meals, and a nice selection of Italian foods. I do have to say I am disappointed that they are offering veal. It endorses animal cruelty.

I am as annoyed as I could possibly be from my first time here. I pass it every day because it’s close to where I work. Today I had a terrible craving for a GOOD tomato and mozzarella sandwich and I figured a nice Italian market could do it well. I went in and there was only one other customer. I had beat the lunch rush. I went up to the deli and asked for a tomato and mozzarella sandwich with prosciutto and balsamic vinegar. The guy asked if I wanted anything else on it and I said no. A woman came over to help him and he told her what he was making. She took over. She asked if I wanted lettuce on it. I said no, just the tomato. She wraps it up and sends me on my way. I get back to work and am ready to dig in only, there’s no friggin tomatoes on my sandwich! It’s a tomato mozzarella sandwich. Caprese people. How do you leave out the main component?! I’m disgusted. They earned two stars for having quality prosciutto and a selection of nice goods on store. The prosciutto and fresh mozzarella are great but stupidity can’t get you above that. Two people, one sandwich, four components.

Certain things here warrant 5 stars — the pizza is awesome, and we just ordered 2 giant ones for a party — our guests loved the pizza and it was definitely kid-friendly! The butternut squash ravioli is awesome, and the gnocchi, too. However, the frozen prepared meals are not fabulous — I have given them numerous tries, thinking maybe each time will be better than the time before, but after trying the lasagna, the pasta melanzana, the chicken marsala, and the eggplant parm — each one has been mediocre. But, I will continue to return for the items I love!

They do have great square pizza that is served warm(located behind their cash register). They also sell San Marzano tomatoes which are not easy to find. Don’t be fooled by thinking any can labeled San Marzano are the real one’s. The one’s they sell are. Always read the back label.

I hate to be the only person to write a negative review but I was majorly disappointed after purchasing a bunch of stuff here. After reading all the rave reviews, I purchased the pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin sauce, and the chicken penne with broccoli, and garlic bread. All of them were just mediocre at best with the exception of the pumpkin sauce which was totally inedible. The texture of the sauce was gritty and lacked flavor. I wanted desperately to like this place but unfortunately won’t be returning.

Warning: my review is only for the piece of square pizza I ordered and will not serve as a useful commentary for any of the packaged or frozen foods sold here. Now for my review: Anyone who raves abut that«school cafeteria quality» square pizza at Galleria Umberto’s, better get their ass to Alfredo Aiello’s to try their pizza. THIS is good square pizza. I felt I needed to set the record straight, and now I have.

Alfredo Aiello Italian Foods in Norwell is a great store to pick some fresh pasta and sauces at very reasonable prices. This store is clean and pretty organized with the price lists clearly posted throughout the store. They carry a good variety of fresh pasta including stuffed pastas(raviolis, tortellini, stuffed shells, manicotti), linguine, fettuccine, angel hair, gnocchi, cavatelli, and sheet pasta. Sauces in stock include tomato sauce, meat sauce, alfredo, garlic parmesan, sweet pumpkin, and pink lobster sauce. They also carry frozen entrees/trays, soups, Italian groceries, cookies, desserts, and breads. There’s also a full service deli counter offering imported meats and cheese, deli platters, and made to order sandwiches. On Thurs, Fri, & Sat, they offer thick crust pizza by the slice and calzones. I had some cheese pizza slices(squares) for lunch which were really good and had a thick soft crust with a thick layer of cheese and a hearty sauce. I just served some fresh fettuccine with meat sauce for dinner, which my family really enjoyed! If you happen to be in the Norwell area and craving authentic Italian food to bring home, stop in here! Mangia! Closed on Sundays

This place is so good. Their bread is to die for, and you can get pre-made delicious pastas or the fixings to make your own. Even the Italians will love this place(I know because I am one).

Fantastic place. Greatest chicken parm. Get there early to get the freshly baked bread. There’s also one in Quincy, and the two places are almost identical– read my Quincy review for more details.
