Honestly we come here because it’s the best among your choice of a handful of places for Korean-style Chinese food. We usually get the Jjajangmyeon(, Peking noodles, aka black bean noodles) or the Jjamppong(, the seafood udon) and an order of the sweet and sour pork. If you’re craving both and, you can order the which comes served in a bowl that is divided in half with a half order of each noodle. We like to keep the deep fried pork crispy by asking for the sweet and sour sauce on the side. Service and speed is inconsistent. Usually we don’t have any problems. It helps to speak Korean. But try and keep it monolingual, speaking to them in Korean and English can just confuse them.

The quality and authenticity of our food was spectacular, but the service was poor and unacceptable. My boyfriend is a huge aficionado of this restaurant and recommended it. It started off okay, we placed our order and the food came in a timely matter. Not once did our waiter check on us and we had to ask other staff for refills and napkins. We did not finish all of our food and I really wanted to take home the crispy fried pork but again our waiter never came. Other waiters were standing around looking at us as if they wanted us to leave. We never even received the check, when a table next to us who came after us received theirs and left before us. After approximately 15 – 20 minutes of waiting time, I was fed up and we left our cash payment on the table and simply left. Would’ve definitely given a better review but it was the worst service I have ever received.

One of the best korean/chinese restaurants in the area. They have generous portions and I have no complaints about their quality. This is my default korean/chinese restaurant.

My mom and I went on a very snowy first day of Spring and were already turned down at one restaurant that said they were closing due to snow. We were in the mood for some Korean style Chinese food and so we drove out a bit for this place. We have been to Sanghi before but haven’t been back in a while so didn’t know if it would be the same. It was actually better than we remembered it to be :) We both ordered the same dish as our main– the jja jang myun(black bean noodles) and an appetizer called tang soo yook(korean styled sweet and sour pork). You have the option to choose the tang soo yook in either beef or pork but the original dish was first created as a pork dish and I’ve always found fried pork to taste better than fried beef so I always get the pork version. Both the noodles and tang soo yook were delicious! The sauce on the noodles was amazing and although the noodles weren’t hand made they were nicely cooked. This type of noodle is not supposed to be al dente so don’t be disappointed when it’s not. Sometimes depending the restaurant the tang soo yook sauce is too sweet but sanghi’s sauce was perfect. The pork was fried just right– the batter was crispy but light and the pork tender. Giving it 4 stars because I haven’t had a chance to try more of their dishes but from what I’ve experienced so far, it’s one of my favorites for jja jang myun in the Philadelphia suburban areas :)

My favorite Korean style Chinese restaurant is in Korea, like 40 mins away from city center near a casino. It’s tucked away in a little back alley and offers(what I think is) authentic Chinese food, so says my Hong Kong friend says. They also offer jjajanmyun and jjamppong. This is the best Korean-style chinese food I’ve found in Korea. But this review isn’t about that place. Sang gi’s food has the same taste that brought me back to that place, I swear if I closed my eyes to that restaurant near Walkerhill. Or even if I kept them open, it looks/is authentic and prices are pretty decent! The combo is awesome, a half bowl of spicy creamy broth and chewy noodles, and the other full of «black spaghetti». I have yet to meet a person that doesn’t love this stuff. The seafood in the jjambong is higher quality than normal. I slurped every bit of that broth right up!

Omg. Thank you food Gods for bringing a legit Korean/Chinese restaurant near me lol. I actually gave up on the notion of eating really good JJang for a while because either the good ones were to far or the ones close by sucked or are half as$. This place satisfies my craving and that’s all I can ask for. I don’t care if it’s a hole in the wall or food theme circus ride. All I know is that the food taste like what it should and it’s consistent. I have to stress the key word — CONSISTENT. I know what I’m going to get when I go there and honestly that’s what really matters if you like what they’re serving.

Service was kind but slow. Ordered the Ja jang myun and jambbong combo for lunch. It was a lot of food for one person. The ja jang myun was standard, nothing different and the seafood in the jambbong was… very fishy. I’d rather eat at the food court in Assi.

Not bad for the burbs the only other decent place in the suburbs in Ming’s in hatboro. We had the jjajjangmyun(noodles with black bean sauce) and jjambbong(noodles in spicy soup usually with seafoood) combo and the gampoongee.(boneless pieces of fried chicken in a sweet/spicy sauce. Their chicken was hot, fresh, crispy and delicious. I think next time I won’t get the combo. Although I love the best of both worlds, I feel like the quality of each one suffered a bit… I’m almost positive they would taste better if I were to order them separately. Good enough to go back for more but I didn’t think it was as good as Tae Haw Gwan or other places in the 5th street area. I will say the service here is excellent! The staff is extremely attentive and polite. We always had water and we didn’t have to wait long for food. Definitely give it a try and see for yourself

It’s good to have a decent Korean-Chinese place in the area because I(with many others, I’m sure), get pregnant cravings for jja jang myun and tang soo yook. The owners of this restaurant is from the 5th street Tae Hwa Kwan, which is now closed, so you know that this place is a safe bet for these black bean noodles. The kkanpoongi(fried chicken in spicy sauce) is a bit on the salty, but tasty. The jjambong(spicy seafood noodle soup) is ok as well, but not as good as their jja jang myun.
