VERYDISAPPOINTED with today’s experience, and we’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. My mother and I have been loyal customers and stopped by on Tuesday May 31 for lunch. We were served by a man named Alex. We wanted to do Kalbi(Korean BBQ ribs) and Alex up-sold us to a combo of the BBQ ribs, sodas, and a soup. The soup we ordered(Kimchi Ji-gae) was Terrible and smaller than normal. We’ve had this soup from this restaurant before and it has been good. The meat came out and looked like it had been marinating for a long time and wasn’t the freshest… but it was a Tuesday afternoon so we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. The server usually places the meat on the grill and cuts it for you, he just placed the meat there and left. We had to ask several times to get some side dishes of kimchi and then the lettuce that come out to wrap the meat was also very old. He didn’t bring out our sodas, I had to ask about them, he forgot and brought them about halfway through our meal. The sodas were flat and had 2 cubes of ice. This server was very lazy and very indifferent about being at work today, he could have cared less. I was very disappointed since we’ve always had good service in the past with bimbimbap and kimchi ji-gae and other dishes. We asked to speak to a manager. Alex said that there was no manager on duty. The soup was too sour and old eat, so we asked to get something else. They offered to make a bean paste soup instead which we gladly accepted. Then the server came out 10 minutes later saying they don’t have bean paste to make the soup. They offered to call the manager and came back saying they would take off the combo price and just make us pay for the meat price since they couldn’t fulfill the soup portion of the combo. When I went to pay, the other server said he tried calling but couldn’t get a hold of the manager. The 2 different servers’ stories did not line up, so one was lying — either they got a hold of the manager and explained the situation or they did not want to lose face with their manager and said they called him but never even told him of the situation. It felt childish and silly, and if you’re the manager reading this, you should always be accessible to your employees if you want to have a successful restaurant — it seemed as though it was a free-for-all without a manager walking around the place. Very sorry, but after years of patronage this debacle of an experience was enough to keep me away and I will not be coming back. Old food, poor service, and lack of care to improve an already bad experience = lost customer.

It used to be the best Korean option in the area isn’t really saying much when you consider its competition. Sadly I think it can even hold onto such a claim. IMO the short rib soup, galbi tang you can order at the food court at Assi is cheaper and tastier. I order it when I know I won’t enjoy most other offerings. The galbi tang used to be pretty good. Maybe it was an off night or a bad batch, however you describe it, it was junk. Two stars because it’s still better than Korea Garden in Blue Bell. That place is awful.

I had the boneless short ribs, it was fabulous! All the sides and salads were part of the price. We did the bbq. I would definitely recommend this place!

Very good Korean BBQ. Visiting the area from NYC so we’ve had our fair share of Korean food. This holds up pretty well. The food is really good, and you can go here if you want a light meal or a big meal. The price is also reasonable. Kamsa hamnida.

I’ve been coming here for about 2 years. I enjoy the food and atmosphere. They are a tiny bit pricey, but they make up for it bringing lots of food and allow us to take home if any leftovers. This past time it was my friend’s birthday, and the nice waiter said he would allow us four to have a free hour of karaōke, which they gave us no hassle or evil eye when we left after the hour. We even asked the bar guy to follow up after an hour and he did. That impressed me(cause some places try to trick you into getting more money out of you), and now we will probably come back because of the honesty and kindness we received. Karaōke was blast and food was good. A+ service this last time. Thanks!

A decent place to eat when your tastebuds crave for Korean dishes. They serve the usual Korean bbq cuisines with sides of veggies. But they are way too overpriced. Staff were fast enough to get our orders. But when it’s time to grill those meats, the table seems to get so messy and overcrowded. Their tables are too tiny for 2. With all those ceramics with side dishes, I fear they would sometimes spill over. Overall their food is great but nothing special. I may still come here tho because of the location.

Ate here last night and it was authentic and awesome. The food was great, kewl vibe. If your not Korean don’t worry the wait staff is very helpful thanks Kang. The karaōke next door was a great way to end the night. Must try for a different night out. Everything was great and the bill for four people with drinks was extremely reasonable.

A little on the pricy side, but almost identical to the meals I had in my time spent in Korea. Everything is very authentic(non americanized) straight Korean food.

I really enjoy this place very much! Why do I love galbi, pork belly, and bulgolgi? I prefer this place over some located in philly. Super plus that I don’t smell like charcoal when I leave. I’ve been here twice so far, but I’ll be back again! Especially for their side dishes and scallion green salad because the dressing on it is yums.

Being that this is the closest Korean restaurant to my home, this is the one I frequent the most when my mom or uncle wants Korean food and not drive too far for it. It’s got a decent selection but I found some of their items to be way overpriced(therefore a hit in the ratings). The food is decent and it’ll do the job if you’re craving Korean food but nothing specific. It’s usually not too busy here and because this is not really a Korean bbq spot(though their name says it) it’s not that smelly/smoky inside. Also, their bbq is not worth it in my opinion. The cuts are thin(especially their pork) and the amount you get for the price is 1⁄3 of what you’d normally expect anywhere else. Service is decent and it’d help if you spoke Korean since most of the staff here are first or 1.5 gen Korean. Parking: Shared lot Price: $ 9+ Wait: 15 mins after ordering

I just had the weakest Korean food of my life, I am legitimately mad at the people who run this restaurant. All the dishes were salt city. Their grills produced the weakest heat(it’s not a fire grill) that cooked our meat by the hour and the server came by to flip it as it was still raw. Naw. Service was not bad, but a smile never hurt nobody.

Best Korean BBQ without having to drive to Philly.(I’m in Allentown) I always get the combo of pork beef and duck with bibambap. I’ve also had the Shumai and seafood pancake and everything is always delicious! Service is great, the waiters are always super nice and can answer any questions about your food. And there’s an extensive karaōke bar in the connecting room that I have yet to try but it always looks packed! I will be back soon

Came last night for me birthday dinner. Staff was friendly and good was amazing! Kalbi, soonduboo, bibimbap(our usuals… Spelling varies per restaurant). We were satisfied with everything but the soonduboo. It was not as flavorful as I was used to. I love their rice! It’s this purple rice! Need to get the name!

I really, really, truly love Korean BBQ. And I really, really, truly would come back here. Food is great. Prices were fine. And the wait staff is spot on. Not too much waiting on, and not too little either. It’s tough to find that balance in a Korean BBQ setting, you know what I mean? You don’t want to feel like they are cooking your food too fast, turning your meat, watching you like a hawk and at the same time, you don’t want to have to wait for them either. Overall, I loved it. I will return.

Whenever I’m in the mood for some Korean bbq, I always pop in here for some galbi. While it is pretty pricey, I always feel that it’s worth it for good food. There are other dishes that are cheaper, but galbi is my favorite so I rarely deviate from it. My kids, on the other hand, order dukkbokki and udon all the time. I personally am not a fan because the first is overly sweet and the second is usually overcooked. In the end, I’d still recommend Koko’s if you’re hungry for some Korean bbq. The service wasn’t bad and the atmosphere is very casual and friendly.

IMINLOVEWITHTHATKOKO! The guys who work there have just the right amount of customer service. I had the bibimbap. It was good insofar that they used black rice instead of white rice. But the sauce that was used could have been a bit better. The food is 4 stars Service is 5.

I. Love. Korean. BBQ. Bring me all the gochujang, bring me all the chili sauce, and bring me all the meats and vegetables you’ve got. I’ve only ever gotten takeout from here(I swear, I’ll eat in soon!!!) However it’s always bustling and full of conversation and phenomenal smells wafting from the grill tables that you’ll only find in a Korean BBQ joint. If you’re not familiar with Korean cuisine(I was fortunate enough to grow up in an area which provided me with many Korean friends and Korean mothers to stuff me full of Bulgogi and Kim chi when I so much as crossed the threshold of the house) go in with an open mind and speak with the staff, or even those around you to find recommendations of what to try. You’ll have sides coming out of your ears, and try some new flavor combinations that you soon won’t be able to imagine living without(I think I have every chili sauce or hot sauce which is for sale at Assi right now, because I have a love for flavorful heat and spice). The ingredients seem to be high quality and served in am amount which is perfect — not too much(say goodbye to American portions. your waist will thank you) and not too little(you won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure) ! If you eat in, Korean BBQ is truly a unique and social experience which puts you in control ! Enjoy, unwind and gain cultural and culinary insight instead of judging something without truly being open to the experiential journey!
