Best vegan pizza I have ever had! I don’t even get that nasty Daiya cheese on it. The garlic sauce makes it so you won’t even miss the cheese. The hot sauce and basil oil at the end just make the pizza. I love all the toppings and personalization they do here. The girl who finished my pizza at the end was even courteous enough to tell me, that since she knew I was vegan, she wanted me to know she was going to change her gloves before touching my pizza(she was touching my husbands pizza with meat on it). Not too many people recognize the need for this. So, not only is the pizza amazeballs, their customer service is out of this world too!

Normally I do a «craft your own» here, but I was intrigued by an item they are currently pitching — a Reuben«sandwich» on a pizza. So today I departed from my usual — I ordered the Reuben — and I have to say that, if you suspend your ideas of what a pizza is supposed to taste like, this is a pretty good lunch! Some of the ingredients are run along one side and others along the other, so you really need to fold it over to put it all together. But since, instead of bread, you get a thin pizza crust, when you bite into it you get more of what goes inside and less bread than you would in a sandwich — a big plus for me. I still believe that most of the time I will stick to pizzas with more typical toppings for pizza, but their special creations — or at least this one — are pleasant alternatives.

I’m not a believer in pizza always being good by default, especially if you’re not drunk and stumbling around a college town looking for jumbo slice. This place takes the crown in customizable pizza– with as many toppings as you’d like(tried really hard not to type this in caps to convey mucho excitement)!!!1! As someone who is at times too particular for preset toppings anywhere outside of Papa Johns, the abundance of options in pizza dough and toppings makes me a happy spherical gal. Ancient grains dough? yes I’ll try to have healthy pizza. Spicy tomato sauce blended with roasted garlic purée? mm yaaas. Fresh, chunky mozzarella? yas pls. Mushrooms, grilled onions, and so many veggie options? so much yaaaas. Even more options for protein? oh yaaas. Basil leaves to top it all off? yas yas yas. Get in my bellayyyy.

So overall I liked this place I went with coworkers the place sort of has a hipster vibe sort of industrial look inside. It’s located at Pike and Rose which has been coming along rather quickly. For those of you who haven’t experienced it you go in and they make you a flatbread pizza to order. They have sort of pizza combos you can order or you can make your own. The pizzas looked amazing. I made a big mistake and got a salad. The salad wasn’t terrible but it was far from great. My coworkers who were wise and got pizza loved it. The best part of my salad was the generous portion of flatbread crust. The service was good I’d return but will certainly try the pizza.

First a question, is it «And Pizza» or is it «Ampersand Pizza»? I believe that the first is correct, but that the second is way more fun and appeals to my nerdside. &pizza is basically a Chipotle with pizza. Pick your crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. They slide it through the oven and out comes a delicious pie for one or two. Add on some fresh toppings like basil or fresh cracked pepper and enjoy! Came in before a movie at iPic and it was perfect. Things were a little slow as a pair of folks order several pizzas so it slowed down the line. It was relatively clean, though not enough tables during the dinner rush. I had the Gnarlic and it was delicious. I would recommend it.

I heard raves but was sadly disappointed. This is not my kind of experience or my kind of pizza. But even apart from my subjective disagreements, there are some things here that just make no sense. For example, they delivered my pie and only THEN asked for payment. So my pie is cooling off while they’re handling the payment — and none too fast. Plus, I then had to ask for the drinks that I had already paid for. This is just backward. Finally, I get my pie and I see it hasn’t been cut. I say this. The cashier says«yes, it has» and so I pick up a piece to check, clearly demonstrating it has not been cut. She then brings it over to another employee to ask if it’s been cut!(Obviously, she didn’t cut it — she was just assuming it was cut.) The other employee agrees that it has not been cut. So she cuts it. All the while the pizza is cooling. It’s thin crust so it cools quickly, folks! Sheesh. On to the more subjective: I tried the Ancient Grain crust. It was anything but crusty. Such a disappointment. I wondered if they accidentally gave me the gluten-free dough as the pie had no body to it. Wasn’t thrilled by the ordering process either. I asked which veggie pie was the most popular and was told«Most vegetarians order custom pies.» so I felt obliged to do that — but I know little about choosing ingredients for a pie from such a wide range. I asked for some advice and the server just asked«Do you want spinach?»(Me: «Sure, I like spinach.») followed by her asking about everything else one after the next. In other words, I got no advice about what combos worked well or how many/much to put on. The music was on full blast in the dining area. I asked them to turn it down since we were the only people in the dining area. They turned it off. When another group walked in, they turned the music back to full blast again. Sadly, I don’t think they realize how loud the music is in the dining area. The music can hardly be heard in the food prep area so I think they only way for the staff to hear music is to really crank it up. I may return in the future to try a traditional crust(surely all the raves must be for some good reason!) but it will only be for takeout. I won’t eat there again. In the meantime, I give it 1 star.

Taste good as hell! The ingredients from the dough to the pepperoni got me eating like a pig. The taste keeps you going far after your stomach is done! The place and staff is top notch as well. I also enjoyed the dark cherry coke

I finally made it to &pizza. Ive heard rave reviews from a number of people and wanted to go for a while. I tried once but the line was just too long. This time we walked right in. It is a very bright open atmosphere. You go down the line and assemble your pizza or you can choose from different kinds. You start with the crust, white wheat or gluten free. Next the sauce, tomato, spicy tomato and a few alternative ones. Cheese choice is a five cheese blend, fresh mozz or vegan mozz. To me its no choice, if you love pizza you always choose fresh mozzarella! The toping choices are abundant. Veggies, meats, even shrimp. Some are an additional charge. But all looked fresh. Your pizza then goes through the oven. Couldnt be more than 2 – 3 minutes and u can add more toppings. Fresh arugula, garlic oil or parmsean to name a few. They also offer salads, beer and homeade sodas. The pizza is very good. Crispy crust, fresh ingredients. Its a good size. If you are really hungry like i was, you may be able to finish but you will be full. My gf only finished half. Always good to have leftover pizza. I had pepperoni amd chicken with mozz and peppers and caramelized onions. I will def be back to mix up the choices. I can see why this place is killing it. Well done.

OK Sam B… I finally made it to the location close to home. Although I was having drinks with a friend at another location, their menu was not in the mix for me. Hence, the go ahead I got from our Server to go next door & get my specialized vegan pie was a foodie clutch move. Same great customer service when you walk through the door. I just simply & Unilocally love how everyone behind the serving station is so full of happy sicilian social skills. There was a pie maker in training & the season employee was really cool in schooling her along the way. It was announced that the Vegan & Gluten Free pie was heading their way, the pie makers changed their gloves & got to work on my pie. One of the perks of coming here besides the Vegan option, is the plentiful ingredients that is generously given & not being charged extra, extra & extra. Not sure if its across the board for all the locations, but this one is no longer offering Falafel, so I did a double dose of the charred & spicy chickpeas. Another tidbit noticed on this visit, was the selection of Chai Teas, had some great concoctions going on. I almost got my signature Ginger Berry Lemonade, but couldn’t think of better pairing for my pie then my glasses of Malbec that was waiting on my return. The cashier was kind enough to mix some of the finishing sauces for me & prepared a special to-go container for me so I could take my soon to be leftovers home for dinner. So I’ve knocked out 3 locations in the last 2 weeks & must state I’m really pleased with my experiences. From the fan-tabulous customer service, the cleanliness of the restaurants & of course my special pie creations that always taste so darn good… I just can’t see how my visits can get any better. I really enjoy spending money here LOL. the LevelUp App is a great & convenient way to pay & earn points.

TL;DR: &pizza’s last name is ever, first name greatest, middle name pizza joint. I’m so happy this location opened up in the Pike & Rose development. It’s a blessing and a curse for me that it’s dangerously close to where I hang my hat. I might be too tempted to work towards the MAVERICK status. Very consistent in quality of ingredients and friendly staff as other locations. If you’re reading this and you’ve never been then just go and try it. It’s hard to be let down unless you get too crazy with your toppings. And even then it’s pretty hard. I don’t think this location has beer on tap or the &wines but I hope to see the booze flow soon. But their housemade soda offerings are great. I’m not a big soda drinker but I love their unique flavors here. This summer’s Cherry Bomb flavor might still be around when you read this but my favorite still has to be Fig Pear Elixir. Hooo-weeee. Free parking in the Bank of America/Chipotle/Starbucks/Tutti Frutti parking lot, as well as Pike & Rose garage(one entrance is down by Shop House/Roti).

Amazing!!! Quick service, friendly staff, the manager is super funny! Food was delicious, i love the spicy sauce and all the choices. Love how quick the pizza is made yet tastes better than 99% of the other places that take longer to make it. Great for a quick lunch pick up. I will be back. I think i found my new lunch spot!

This location is kind of hidden and hard to find. My gps kept trying to take me to a totally different restaurant. This is located in the park and rose shopping area. There is also free parking in the park and rose parking garage. The first two hours are free at this garage. So definitely take advantage of that. As far as &pizza, I have been raving about it forever. It’s the chipotle of pizza.

&pizza or @pizza? Maybe they should have named it the second way? Well I don’t know but after seeing these long boxes all over the place and walking by it about a million times on U st I finally had some of their pizza. The crust is really light and tasty. I think I tried both the original and the ancient grains. Delicious. I tried maybe 3 different pizzas and I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called but I’m just going to show you pictures and blow you away with my photography skills. I am also available for weddings and bar mitzvahs.

Went for their pre-opening in June 2015. I have had the Maverick Specialty pizza before at both the Germantown and Gaithersburg locations, so on this visit, I decided to try something different and got the Gnarlic Pizza(it was very good). One of the first things that caught my attention as I opened the door to this location was the space… Love the Space — it is much bigger than the other 2 locations I have been to(something I was happy about). Even though it is communal, you still have space to yourself — that got its own star. The folks were great at the pre-opening and the place was not crowded. I did get to take home a box of pizellies, however, it may have been sitting for a while as it was a bit stale. That is okay though, as I still love their pizza. Kudos to Sam.

(Vegetarians & Vegans welcomed) What can I say that hasn’t already been said about &pizza? Love, love, love, love, love! I have been to three different locations and they never disappoint. Thin and crispy crust like a flatbread makes this girl happy, happy, happy! The best part is it is made to order with the freshest ingredients. You can order one of their popular pizzas or you can create your own. I know, it sounds like every other pizza joint… but they use local, fresh ingredients AND they make their mozzarella cheese on-site(very cool to watch and ask to sample it!)…plus, they have to be doing something right with 13 locations in 3 years(with #14 on the way)! Their signature pizzas have creative names that practically tell you what the toppings are. My favorite is Gnarlic because it is «gnarly» and«garlicky». Kiss & Fire is a little sweet and a little spicy. Farmer’s Daughter is a salad with eggs. Moonstruck is loaded with mushrooms and goat cheese(I love my goat cheese!!). Maverick for you meat lovers. Backyard garden is eponymous(look it is because it is today’s word of the day) and not surprisingly vegetarian. Trying to cut down on carbs and can’t see yourself in a pizza joint? Not to worry, there are salads to die for! I was told that the Wilma Jean is the most popular. I can see why. Chicken, roasted peppers, their world famous caramelized onions(IMHO) and bacon… winner, winner, chicken dinner! But my hands-down, slap-me-in-the-face, I-can’t-get-enough favorite is the Don Goat. Mushrooms, caramelized onions(food of the gods), chicken and goat cheese… mmmmmmmm…goat cheese… need I say more? Need something sweet to finish every meal? Try the dessert pizza. It is healthy because there are berries! Seriously, it is not overly sweet with ricotta and white chocolate. Try the craft sodas before you go. They are tasty as is, or if you mix them. Last tip. Be patient. This place is very popular. It is pretty quick all things considered… a made to order pizza from one end of the counter to the other. You can see them rolling out the dough, proofing it, topping it, baking it, topping it some more with their«finishes» and to you after you pay for it. That is fast. **If your visit is less than perfect, let someone know. Nicely. Customer service is important here and they want you to walk out happy.**

When I first saw this location, I thought it was odd that an &pizza would sprout up at such a deserted area. Clearly, I was mistaken, as an enormous new development with a fancy movie theater, a free(for 2 hours) parking garage, and several other restaurants has appeared since I was last here. Speaking of the area, &pizza has taken sides on the ongoing controversy of what to call this particular region, and I am not a fan of «North Bethesda». Once you’re outside of the Beltway, you’re in Rockville. Call it White Flint if you want to get fancy. Even more confusingly, this &pizza is actually on the same street as the other Bethesda location, albeit quite a ways away. Naming aside, it’s just business as usual. Another delicious array of toppings that you can put on your pizza for a flat price. This one, I tried mixing the spicy tomato and chickpea purée sauces, which was far tastier than chickpea alone. My increasingly large mound of favored toppings was no less palatable than at &pizza’s other locations; if their expansion is going to lead to deterioration in quality, I’ve not seen it yet. Some of the other fast casual chains are nearby, highlighting the comparison that invariably favors the ampersand. Honestly, I’d rather get falafel at &pizza than at a Roti. And it’s a pizza place. There’s not a ton negative to say about it at this point. Their service is consistent and considerate. The location is great and has plenty of seating. The biggest downers for me are having so many toppings on my pizza that it’s hard to keep it all together, and I wish they’d de-seed their jalepeno peppers more. That’s nitpicky. If all I can do is nitpick, I’ll just have to give them five stars.

&Pizza you have done it again, delicious pizza and warm welcoming staff. Have it your way at &Pizza, although they have their own selection of pizza combinations, you can create your own. You can even do half one way and half another. My favorite is the Gnarlic pizza. I was able to combine that with the Backyard pizza. There is a large variety of toppings. They even have shrimp to put on your pizza. Each pizza is made fresh and only takes about 5 minutes from selection to your table. I came in at the end if the day and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and efficient. Located at the Pike and Rose Shopping Center there are plenty of tables and room to sit. They have some healthy drink selections and cookies or dessert pizza to satisfy your sweet tooth. Congratulations &Pizza you have made my day.

Love &pizza! It’s awesome fast, cheap(~ $ 9), made-to-order pizza! They have so many sauces, spreads, and fresh toppings to choose from! It’s thin crust pizza, kind of like flatbread. It’s not authentic or the best pizza you will ever eat, but still really good. I came here for their soft opening and got to try one of their signature pizzas. Usually when I go to &pizza, I prefer to create my own, but I’m glad I got to try a signature. I went with the Kiss and Fire, which had spicy tomato sauce, ricotta spread, mushrooms, meatballs, and strawberry balsamic. It was a delicious pizza, but I wasn’t a fan of the strawberry balsamic, making it a little sweet. I also wish it had some veggies on it. I got to try my friend’s Farmer’s Daughter. That was a really good choice too, with spicy tomato sauce, spinach, sausage, eggs, and red pepper chili oil! Next time, I’ll try MoonStruck and Backyard Garden. It’s great that this opened up at Pike & Rose. It’s a much better fast-casual option than Roti and ShopHouse. Plus, this &pizza is a lot bigger than the Germantown and Gaithersburg-Downtown Crown locations. There are multiple tables instead of just one communal table. There is parking in the garages. First 2 hours are free. For you &pizza lovers, don’t forget to get the app and start earning your rewards!

So glad this place joined the line up of good eats at Pike & Rose. I got to attend a soft opening(Thanks, Annie!) lunch today. They very extremely efficient, and kept the line moving. We got a free pizza of our choice from their list of signature pizzas. I had the meat-free Moonstruck which has a mushroom truffle base as opposed to a traditional tomato sauce base. It’s delicious! I love mushrooms, so I would get it again, or create my own with their house– made mozzarella. The dining space is small with one long communal table and several six seater tables along one wall. Be prepared to share your table space, it’s the nice thing to do. With two hours of free parking in the nearby garage, &Pizza is the newest go-to place for fresh and fast pizza.
