This is the best Chinese restaurant in chicago. My family has been coming here forever. We love the food here. I travel all the way from glenview just to eat this food.

This is truly top-notch Chinese food. My mother is a major foodie and this is her favorite. Once I tried it I was hooked. It’s a small place and not much on the eyes, but who cares when the food is super fresh and fantastic. Their wonton soup is fantastic, their rice dishes and poultry and beef are excellent. The owners are good people that are extremely friendly. This place is definitely a staple. I took my fiancé here once and she kind of rolled her eyes at the look of it, but ask her if she’s been back… yup. ;-)

Killer. Great food. Nice people. Every time a plate/bowl was placed in front of me, the food stood no chance. Didn’t leave 1 crumb of anything because it was too good. This is probably the only place I’ll ever go back for Chinese food because I feel spoiled.

Some if the best Chinese in area! Actually probably the best Chinese I’ve had! Everything is so fresh and hot when you get if. The egg rolls are amazing and you can’t beat the cheap prices. Recommend this place to anyone that loves good food or Chinese food! Overall amazing and the owners are very friendly and loving people.

This is one of my favorite divey chinese restaurant near my chiropractor’s office. I’ve been coming here for years. It’s located within a strip mall. I can only review about the food and take out. For dinning in, they do need a serious face lift. Everything looks old, like over 15 years old! Think of this place like one of those divey establishments in Chinatown, place is old looking but damn good food! I’ve had their egg rolls and crab Rangoon all crispy and tasty just like Chinatown flavors! I bet they use peanut oil for frying. I also order their shrimp fried rice, extra crispy cantonese noodles with chicken and vegetables. Their lunch specials are pretty tasty as well and you have enough for leftovers. The lady at the counter is very nice. She even remembered my face when I haven’t been there for about a year or so. Overall, if you want that Chinatown flavored Chinese food, then come here and enjoy!

I like the food here, the portions are nice. If your a big eater and planing to get full, go ahead. I ate like a quarter of mine and took the rest to go.

Great food. Every time I’ve ordered from here the food has been fresh and delicious. Try the shrimp with lobster sauce dinner special. The staff are always friendly when I call in and pick up too. Another plus, when I called in and asked to make a substitution for my rice, it was no problem and no extra charge. I’ll definitely be ordering from here for my Chinese food fix again and again.

We got the sesame chicken it was dry and hard. Not your typical sesame chicken very weird taste to it. Fried rice is good, egg rolls ok…

This place is rock solid. Hidden little gem for a weekday work lunch. Décor leaves a lot to be desired, but I don’t come here for the décor. Food is fantastic, service is good. Best fried rice I’ve had in town. Awesome egg rolls. Great General Tso’s. Amazing Mongolian Beef and Beef Broccoli.

Have sampled this place over the years when I’m in the area. A great mom-and-pop place. There may be a slight wait. But everything is made from scratch. Check out their great affordable lunch specials. Be careful Thursdays and Fridays lunch can be busy

Went there in Fall 2012 with hubby for dinner. Wait was extreme. Another couple came and I almost got up to knock on the door to see if they’d forgotten that both of us(both couples) were in the dining room. We started talking with each other to guess what they were doing back there. No one else was there for customers, but I noticed that a take out order went fast. Hm. I liked the combination fried rice– smoky flavor. Hubby did not like it. He always gets sweet and sour chicken and fried rice wherever he goes. I usually do something different to try the menu. His chix– nasty with hints of dish washing liquid flavor. My soup was supposed to be egg drop. It was a thick, congealed egg drop gravy. His chicken soup was the same texture, and just warm, not hot. My dish was not memorable and made me wonder what they were doing in the back that was so focus-intensive that customers weren’t important. By the end of it, I wanted to like the place– fun name, close, but the food was just NOT the best and the service was the worst I’ve had in years. My husband’s been doing Chinese every Friday for lunch for ten years and continues his tradition since we married. We do not plan return business after trying this place.

Hoa My is one of my favorite places for Chinese carry out. They are located in a small strip mall west of Cumberland on Lawrence. The place is small and is best to pick up food though you can dine in if you choose. Hoa My is family owned and the husband and wife team are very friendly and customer focused. All items are made to order so you can spice up or down as you desire. When I have a cold my go to for feeling better is their Hot and Sour Soup. They have some of the best egg rolls around, both veggie and meat. My go to items are: General Tso’s Chicken Shrimp and Chicken Lo Mein Beef Satay Chicken with Pea Pods Chicken Fried Rice Orange Chicken Mongolian Beef Call ahead for your order, stop in and meet the owners and have a great meal

Hoa My is my favorite chinese spot, hands down! I wish I lived closer. You will never find a hot and sour soup to match theirs. Never! Their lucnh is amazing. They have so much food and for a great price. Lunch usually consists of a drink, an entrée, that could easily feed two people, and an egg roll or crab rangoon and soup for around $ 7. You can’t beat that. The place is a bit small but we never have a problem with seating.

Great food! I have been going to this place for about 20 years now. My grandparents used to bring me as a child! The quality of food is always consistently good. Friendly staff but they can be slow, so be patient. Especially during their busier times. If it werent for the wait at times, I would give this place 5 stars. The food definetly deserves it.

YUM… very good chinese food. Their chicken chop suey is to die for. They take no more than half an hour to deliver your food also which is always a plus when your hungry. The workers are always kind and curtious.
