I was not impressed with the quality and quantity of food or the price. The don’t smoke the chicken I am fine with that. So I got the bbq chicken and brisket plate. It comes with a side, slaw and a roll. That seems like a lot. When I actually got the plate, the chicken was hiding the thinly slice brisket. It wasn’t even much on the plate. I almost threw my side of slaw away because of it’s small size. I didn’t even realize that condiment cup(the same type and size that the barbeque sauce came in), had my food in it. I’m disappointed that I paid almost 15 dollars for something that should have been a 7 dollar plate. To top it off the disrespectful/off color comments was almost enough for me to walk out. I would have if I hadn’t paid already.

Yikes, came here with some friends and none of the beers I wanted were available. The food was atrocious. All frozen foods that were not even heated properly. I will not be back.

This place has been going downhill for the last year and tonight was the last straw. Even though we literally live within walking distance, we will never go back. When we sat down, our waitress told us it was happy hour and showed up the drink and menu specials. We normally don’t order drinks or appetizers, but decided why not since they had mixed drinks for $ 5 and appetizers for half off. The service was not great — our waitress was super awkward the entire time, and the food was average. But then we get the check… and everything is full price. We call the waitress back and she tells us that it was her mistake, it actually was not happy hour, so we had to pay full price. She kept apologizing, but it was total BS. She told us «just don’t leave me a tip.» Well I wasn’t going to leave her that good of a tip anyway! They should have honored the price she told us. We ended up spending $ 16 on two drinks that were mostly ice. I’m so livid right now. A manager could have at least stopped by our table to apologize. I will never, ever be back, and we also have a vacation rental and easily send 100+ people there every summer to have dinner with our recommendation. They are losing all of that business. And I will note, this isn’t an isolated situation. We were there once a few months ago for wing night, and got charged the full price for wings because our order was put in at 6:58 and it didn’t officially start until 7. Seriously, the waitress(a different one) even said«are y’all here for wings?» She could have told us it didn’t start for two minutes. They seriously have horrible customer service.

We stopped here for lunch one weekend when we were in the area. We were the only people in the place. It seemed like a typical bbq joint. The food was decent and the décor seemed like it was probably a pretty lively music place in the evenings. We just tried it again on a Friday evening and was so disappointed I decided I should actually write my first review. First thing I noticed were we were once again the only people eating. Should have been a clue. The bar seemed to be doing pretty good business though. The whole place smelled like a sour bar rag or mop. The two waitresses were very new to serving. The one that served us was trying really hard. The other one just didn’t seem to care at all about anything and was pretty rude when she«greeted» us. My son ordered a burger and got what seemed like a frozen Bubba burger. He ordered hush puppies for his side, but they were out. I got the rib and brisket combo which was $ 22 and way less food than I expected. I don’t eat a lot normally and I easily finished this whole meal. The ribs and brisket were good. That’s the only reason I gave it two stars. No dessert offerings and they charged for refills on soda and TEA. But, didn’t offer up that info until the check came they had refilled our mini solo cups three times each.

Have not been to Mojo Bones in a while and the husband wanted barbecue. We both ordered combo plates. He got brisket and pulled pork and I got ribs and brisket. You used to get two sides and two rolls and now you only get one of each, was told the second side would be $ 2.00. I was a tad disappointed when our food arrived. For $ 22.99 my basket looked pitiful. Three or four small ribs and three small slices of brisket, itty bitty sauce container of Cole slaw and my deviled eggs looked like a child had made them. The roll was straight out of a package. Overall, the meat was flavorful but I don’t think we will be back anytime soon.

So far. So lame. The wait staff is so under trained. With the exception of Andy! So smooth and executive ! She was beautiful. Needs to to teach others to emulate her. Stronghold of the establishment!!! lame fried bull shit.

Went here with a friend who had seen an article about open mic night on Thursdays. I thought okay I’ll give it a try. I had the knuckle burger with a side of Cajun fries which the burger was ok nothing overly exciting about the burger but overall was good. I wished I had asked for lettuce and tomato on it. The fries were ok as well I had their Cajun fries. I expected them to have a little heat to them since they we’re suppose to be Cajun but to me they were just regular fries. I will say they have a good choice of cold beers .The service I will say was really good the waitress was very polite and smiling and friendly and she didn’t try to rush us. Because of the good service I bumped my rating up a star also she was a honest waitress. I had left my credit card on the tip tray. She took the tip tray and within less than 5 minuets she returned with my credit card I hadn’t even realized I left it. But the one thing I did notice the next day on my bill was a CC charge of .50 which kind of surprised me and the fact I didn’t remember seeing a sign that there will be a CC charge of .50 if paying with a credit card. Oh well I’ll remember that if I go back.

First time in here and I can guarantee I’ll be back. The bluesy jazz feeling and atmosphere are both very relaxing and while not normally my cup of tea musically, the upbeat nature of the particular songs being played kept it up. I actually really enjoyed the picnic BBQ feel of the place and the burger was perfect. Also loved the mojo chicken and the deviled eggs. I’m normally not a big fan of BBQ restaurants but the personal touch by our server Amy and the welcoming by the person who seated us guaranteed I’ll be back. Awesome ace, if you want no frills good food at a low price this place is banging.

Service is horrible, like any typical bar, you wait forever for service. The food is overly priced $$$ and it’s not even all that great, they just slap it on your plate and it tastes like they cooked it for a long time, dry! another hole in a wall.

If you are a burger fan, you need to try their jalapeño cheddar burger… it’s delicious. The atmosphere is fun and loud, so leave the kids at home.

Exceedingly average. Mojo Bones is one of those places that really tries hard. They just happen to be in an area that has much better BBQ joints available. The serve was terrific, fast, and polite; the restaurant is clean and welcoming. On those factors they could earn an easy 4 – 5 stars. The food is average and servings are kind of small for the price. On the table they have two kinds of BBQ sauce. One for the pulled pork and one for everything else. They need a sauce with some spice to it. Tonight we split the BBQ dinner. It had brisket, pulled pork, 1⁄3 rack of ribs and two pieces of chicken with two sides, coleslaw, and two rolls. We picked hush puppies and sweet potato fries. The hush puppies were small and there was no butter served. When I asked for some the server brought clarified butter from the kitchen. The fries were very bland. So the question is «Would I come back?». Yes. The place has a fun vibe. Come for a beer and have some wings. «Would I bring someone here?». Again yes, it’s fun and the staff try hard. «Would I recommend the BBQ?». Unfortunately, no. There are just too many good places around.

Let’s get straight to the point. Honestly, I don’t think this place is the best barbeque joint in the area however thought its not also the bad one. My trouble is, its so much hype were as most customer expect that the food would be extravagant when its frankly not. On the brighter side, I must say its a pretty decent restaurant with a lot of potential and personality. I love the eclectic décor and divey ambience. The customer service is absolutely fantastic, its fast and efficient. They staff is attentive, friendly and polite. I admire people who shows positive attitude and passion of what the do. I came here with my BFF for dinner since we both had a craving for BBQ. Also, I heard a lot of positive feedback about this place. For today’s, I ordered the Mama’s Cornbread to start with. For the main course, a friend and I split up the dinner platter consisting of chicken barbeque, pulled pork, brisket and 1⁄3 ribs with a sides of hush puppies and sweet potato fries. The food was extremely average and yes its tender and juicy. Thought its seasoned well and perfectly cooked however I find them very one dimensional. The flavor profile has lack of depth. Overall, it was truly a wonderful visit. I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it. I’m debating myself if I’m willing to give it another try. I’m not closing my door, who knows?

Probably some of the better BBQ around(and I consider myself a BBQ connoisseur of sorts). This is definitely in the top two in the area. If I can’t pick up my ribs, then they’re doing it right — the bones fall out clean! Their cornbread is at the top of the list! It could pass as a dessert!

I worked near this place for a few years, and lived in the neighborhood for 5. Better then Greenies by far, it’s a friendly place for the most part, sometimes the *girls* who work there get a bit nasty, as far as working/doing their jobs. You would think they were asked to feed you, not bring you a menu. The guys though are always polite, and make you want to return. It can be loud, and slow service, but it’s a bar… in a place where everyone hangs at the bar. the food is over priced, but the drinks. OHMOMMA! the special/new drinks are crazy good. expensive, but just damn delicious.

1 I went on the wrong day huge party from the base did not call in advance so kitchen was backed up. Décor is cool jazz club meets smokey dive without the cigarette smoke. Deviled eggs on the menu heck yeah! Great dry rubbed ribs super yummy, server was attentive and kept the ice tea full and brought over some hush puppies for waiting so long for food. I will be back for dinner to try their Bourbon menu of drinks and some more RIBS!

The wings are no longer on happy hour everyday. Just on wednesdays. They are really good though. The bartenders are really friendly and the cajun cheese fries are still impeccable!
