I love this take-out chicken place in HMART. If you know how fried chicken tastes like in Korea and misses the taste, you will not be disappointed! Prices in $ 15 — 20 range and the portion could easily feed 3 people. The package also comes with several pairs of vinyl gloves(for you to use to pick up and eat the chicken), white radish, and honey mustards. The owner seems to be a young guy but he is business-oriented. I asked him if I could purchase some additional white radish and he gave one extra for free. Not sure if this will always happen though.

Toreore has the best Korean Fried Chicken. It is so tasty and mouthwatering even just thinking about it. I would make an hour trip for this chicken! My favorite are the chicken nugget and garlic chicken. One thing though, they can be better at their customer service, like greet your customer with smile, and say thank you after — don’t be rude!

We make the special trip out to the Super H Mart to do all our Asian grocery shopping about once a month so I was excited to hear about this fried chicken place within the store. We usually eat at the mini-food court on the right side of the entrance, but never considered there’s a place to eat on the left side. There are several options to choose from, with the original fried chicken as option 1. Others include sweet and spicy, tasty garlic, and spicy. We ordered half original and half sweet and spicy. The order is for a whole chicken and comes with 3 sides of pickled radishes. Everything is made cooked to order, so we were told to come back in 45 minutes… plenty of time to finish our shopping(apparently wait times can vary from 25 – 45 minutes). I didn’t mind since we had to shop anyway. They delivered at the promised time. The original fried chicken was nice and crispy, but lacked any seasoning and was pretty plain. The sweet and spicy had a nice flavor, but the sauce made the batter soggy. The pickled radishes were delicious. Plenty of food for two people(and we had left overs we ended up eating the next day). It’s good to know there’s a fried chicken joint within H Mart when the craving hits while I’m shopping. I’d be willing to try the garlic one the next go around.

Delicious delicious food… but…you have to wait 30 minutes for your food. It’s best to call and order your food in advance… or plan to shop at H-Mart for 30 minutes. Also, the guy that takes your order isn’t super friendly so don’t expect a smile or any small talk. It’s all business when it comes to Korean-style fried chicken YO! I like the half garlic half sweet and spicy combo. It’s LEGIT!

Good Chicken however If you’re not Korean expect to be hung up on, and a 45 min wait. if you’re Korean expect a 25min wait. I would suggest this place to be more friendly especially for first time orders.

If you love fried chicken, you will love it. If you love friend chicken and are part Asian like me, you will want to move next store to the building. Like folks have posted, order your food it will take a while. I got all garlic chicken. I ate it until I couldn’t feel my legs.

After being spoiled by LA’s Koreatown for several years, I’ve been on the lookout for some really good Korean chicken since my move to Chicago. Located conveniently in H-Mart, I’ve always had interest in trying this place out and finally took the step. As many people recommended in their posts, I would highly suggest calling in to order beforehand since they take around 15 – 25 minutes to prepare your order. I got half-half of the garlic chicken(highly recommended here) and the sweet and spicy chicken, which was actually a pretty good combo. The garlic chicken was absolutely crispy and the garlic was not overwhelming at all. The sweet and spicy chicken was nothing special, but still good. For $ 17, I thought it was slightly overpriced, but for the amount of chicken and flavor, I think it’s worth it once in a while. The best part is the Korean radishes(mooh) which goes perfectly with Korean chicken! Ohh. and I can’t forget about the super cute packaging the chicken comes in.

The garlic flavor is the absolute best. Despite its name, it doesn’t taste garlicky at all. I also find fried chicken to be a bit dry and too crunchy sometimes, but this wasn’t an issue with this flavor. The spicy one was delicious but waaaay too hot for me to handle. I wish they would allow us to pick the spice level because as much as I love the flavor of the sauce, I don’t want to have my tongue burst into flames every time I eat it. The regular fried chicken was pretty mediocre. I don’t think there was much that distinguished it from KFC fried chicken. It came with a honey mustard sauce, which I constantly used since the chicken itself was kind of hard and dry.

This has been a bookmark for far too long and that was mainly due to the length of the preparation time necessary which is roughly twenty to thirty minutes. On this fated trial date however, I decided to meander the store and have a leisurely longer-than-usual, grocery shopping experience. Note:(It must have been lunch time for the employees, because the Mom and two kids working the counter were sharing a pizza within customer view. I think it was Pizza hut variety. I find it very, what is the word I’m thinking of… Hmm. Tacky. Tacky when employees eat their lunch(which is from elsewhere) in view of customers. If you guys are eating pizza and not chicken, then why the heck am I eating your chicken?) Before starting my grocery shopping, I placed an order for a box of chicken which cost about $ 17 dollars plus(close to $ 20 with tax) for approximately ten pieces. Like many other reviewers had previously stated, I went with a ½ & ½ box. Half of the order was sweet and spicy and the other garlic.(The chicken is best when it’s freshly prepared. So, don’t travel too far before indulging or just eat it on the premises. If reheating at home; try tossing it into a hot wok and top with sriracha or bake it to crispy.) So, I’ve eaten a ton of Korean popcorn chicken(bar food), Korean-Chinese chicken dishes, and other types of Korean chicken wing varieties(sold in K grocery stores) etc I dunno, maybe my tastes have changed over the years or I’ve somehow become some kind of chicken wing elitist. I wasn’t very impressed or fond of the sweet and spicy chicken. I had tried a few pieces soon after picking them up. The chicken was okay but the breading had become mushy from the sauce which could have come straight out of a bottle sold within H-Mart. The sauce sucked actually. I wonder whether they make it or its store bought. It was too sweet and didn’t work with the chicken. Tasted like a sweet and sour mixed with run-of-the-mill hot sauce. I also wonder whether they removed the chicken from the oil too early? The garlic was good but I’d have to try it again to know for sure. What I realized afterwards, was that I spent too much money on decent chicken. Also, not that I’m complaining about it, but they must have run out of the«cute» boxes. Because I got a pizza box. If I ever go back.(?) I might opt for the popcorn chicken and definitely a few pieces of the garlic.(I wonder whether it could be made«extra garlic-ky».)

A little pricey for what you get, but the chicken was cooked perfectly. Very tasty stuff. The lady that made it took the time to literally paint sauce on each piece making sure she got just the right amount. We ordered the garlic, and the sweet/spicy. I don’t think we got the garlic, but whatever we got was yummy. Next time we eat at that food court we will definitely get some chicken with our soup or bulgogi to ruin how healthy or meal is.

This place is my favorite korean fried chicken joint. I always order half/half of 2 and 3(garlic chicken and sweet and spicy) although I think the garlic chicken is better. I called in to order before because I knew that they only make a certain amount of chicken a day.(They close when they run out). I shared amongst three friends and we had some leftovers. They provide pickled radish, gloves, and chopsticks on the side. Everything is packaged in a cute box. Definitely worth the $ 17!

What’s better than getting fresh crispy Korean chicken while buying Korean groceries!!! The best one on the menu is the tasty garlic marinade! TIP: It takes 30+ minutes for them to fry the deliciousness so I would highly suggest ordering before you start shopping OR we now have started calling in our order before we get to H Mart.

You probably wouldn’t expect it, but Toreore is pretty legit considering the price point and the fact that it’s a joint within H Mart. Out of all the options, the garlic chicken is definitely the best. Very tasteful and crispy. You’d think the sweet and spicy would be good too, but it’s just too saucy. Ordering the box is the way to go. At around $ 17, it probably feeds two and comes with around 14 pieces of chicken. If you’re a neat freak, Toreore offers plastic gloves to keep your hands clean.

If you want more favor then the usual popeyes or kfc, this is the place to go to. As they have really crispy juicy fried chicken. My favor is the garlic and their spicy. The best part is their pickle radish on the side. The only downside is that all order but you can always order first and grocery shop while you wait.

Wow. I was pleasantly surprised trying this place out. My kids and I were at h mart and my 4 year old was set on only wanting chicken nuggets for lunch so we went here. The closest thing was the non-spicy popcorn chicken. Having never tried anything here, I did not know what to expect. It took about 15 minutes to get the food. Luckily I had gotten some soup from another place at the food court to feed their hungry tummies first. Anyway it came with so much chicken and also came with rice and a non spicy pickled radish. My son chowed the chicken down and he is a picky eater! He was even hesitant at first because he doesn’t try things that doesn’t look like the way he is used to seeing it. He was expecting nuggets not the long pieces that it came in. Plus the batter is different than typical chicken nuggets too but I got him to eat it with some encouragement. The chicken was a little salty to just eat by itself so the radish and rice balance it out well. They were long pieces. It was more than enough for the three of us and we had some leftovers because I had ordered korean dish elsewhere for myself. Only con is that it was quite pricey for a meal. $ 16! Although is it meant to be shared?

It is not because I am a Korean, but I think this way of cooking fried chicken is very tasty. Unlike American style fried chicken(KFC, popeyes, etc) the pieces are smaller and there are more variety of flavors(garlic, bbq, spicy, etc). The price may feel a little steep considering the size, but I think it is still good for 2 people. There are a couple of perks with this place. First, their honey mustard sauce is very good. Also you have the ticket puncher that you get a stamp for each purchase. Every 8(now 10) purchases, you will get a free fried chicken. If you are a regular it is not bad at all. One reminder, their«spicy» chicken is extremely spicy. I am usually good at taking those kind, but I could barely eat a couple because it was too spicy. Just FYI.

I am glad we tried this Korean fried chicken place. I recommend you place an order in advance as it takes about 20mins after the order. They have seven different sauces to choose from. All are good. Also they offer half and half with different sauce.

I came here on a Friday evening with friends at around 6:00PM.It wasn’t busy at all; however, we still had to wait for our chicken to be fried/cooked.(i guess this is a good thing. since it’s fresh and warm… but not good if you want something to go ASAP). the wait is about 20 – 30 mins, but the wait for the food isn’t too bad though since the restaurant is located inside H-Mart. you have some options while you wait… you can walk around and eat samples at H-Mart or. end up buying more food which will slowly start to fill you up by the time that the chicken is ready… there’s a bakery right around the corner if you want to eat bread with your chicken. or kimbbap at H-Mart if you want some type of rice w/your chicken…:) Garlic chicken: delicious, crispy, and served hot(warm hot)… :) Sweet & Spicy chicken: I didn’t enjoy this one as much… the sauce is just ok. **chicken comes with korean pickled radish. very delicious… goes perfectly w/chicken… has a vinegary & sweet taste to it… so if you aren’t a fan of vinegar. you might not like it… Costs: we got 1 order of half Garlic chicken and half Sweet & Sour chicken for around $ 16.99+ …yay for being able to have half & half. so you can try more than one flavor. Food portions: 4 ppl can share with one order of chicken. *4 ppl that eat moderately(2 – 3 pieces each?)… Atmosphere: it’s like a chicken joint at a food court… you can come here with friends or family… Miscellaneous tip: you should probably go to H-Mart and buy some drinks while you are waiting since it’ll probably be cheaper than the ones they sell at Toreore…:) I would come here again because I would like to try the other chicken flavors. :)

I’ve always said I wish I could be a vegetarian but chicken is what really messes me up! Case in point — Toreore. They have amazing chicken!!! What would a life be without such mouthwatering chicken? I’m happy with this new-ish(two years old now!) edition to H-Mart in Niles because it brings some seriously good chicken to their food court area. I’m a dork and I love the name — Toreore Chicken & Joy with the cute logo picture of a fox. ^_^ Even their boxes are super cute. I don’t see how I can go to H-Mart and not get their chicken now that I know it exists! They use vegetable oil which means No Trans Fat… and that makes me feel healthy while consuming deep fried white meat. Toreore offers varying levels of spice on their wings. My friends got the hottest level they have and they were dying. I have a picture of them wearing the provided plastic gloves & sweating while eating the wings and am debating putting it up. My evil side says yes, the world needs to see what these super spicy wings do to a couple of adult men who have grown up eating super spicy food their whole life! My angelic side says no, they will pinch you if you post the picture. Decisions, decisions! Personally, I stick with the non spicy girly stuff. I also like to stick with no bones, so I ordered their ‘chicken nuggets’(konglish Takteggim as I call it — popcorn chicken) for $ 15.99. That may sound like a lot but the portion is huge! I shared the box with my friend and it was still way too much for the two of us. Even the two guys sharing their box of super duper spicy wings couldn’t finish that off. Considering you can feed a few people with one order, it’s a good deal! Once you order, it takes them 20 minutes to fry it up. I love knowing I’m getting my meal just out of the bubbling oil. The chicken is moist, succulent and rivals my all time favorite popcorn chicken at Yewosaii. The nuggets include a yummy dipping sauce that only adds to the flavor. The orders include moo(radish) which I’m not a fan of at all but it definitely helps if you’re getting a spicy order of chicken. I’ve fallen in love with Toreore!

Fantastic Korean Fried chicken! This was my first time having Korean Fried Chicken, so I may have a different perspective but I was needless to say – incredibly impressed. I had the Garlic and Tasty Chicken and it exceeded my expectations. It tasted FANTASTIC. I liked how the meat was more moist and less oily than typical American Fried Chicken. Not to mention, they include pickled radishes that help dilute the taste of the oily chicken and GLOVES! The Marinade Fried Chicken is pretty tasty too. That comes with honey mustard too! The gloves are actually really helpful so you don’t get dirty, or if you’re eating them on a car trip home because you simply can’t wait any longer. Only downside is it is a little pricey and you have to wait 20 minutes – which is odd for fast food. However, you can easily do some shopping at H-Mart while waiting for the food! When you get your food, it will be BUBBLING hot so it’s worth the wait. This is no KFC or Popeyes :)
