This turned out to be very nice. I have to be honest, I was alarmed when we pulled up, because there was NO signage, anywhere. But it turns out the owners are converting it to a Best Western, so that’s why the signs were down. A new carpet had just been put in the room, so we slept with the window open — it locked partway open, so I wasn’t worried about security. It was clean, and nice. We were on a completely non-smoking hall. I LOVED the exercise room. We would happily stay here again. However, the bathroom was small, and the food at the hot breakfast was so-so. That’s why I gave this hotel only 4 stars. The price was just a bit more than $ 100 for 2 double beds. Call ahead. We called only a few hours in advance, and received literally THELAST room. Other hotels in the area were already sold out. This was the third or fourth hotel I had called. Turned out to be a good one.

I can’t believe I forgot to review this place after our stay in late August. In my defense, we were in the process of moving cross country. Originally we were going to stay in a Motel 6 in Des Moines due to pets and a tight budget. However, after arriving to possible drug deals in progress, we moved on to a Holiday Inn Express, which was booked but arranged for us to stay at another Holiday Inn Express in a neighboring town. The cost was reasonable for the quality of accommodations, and we were relieved they allowed our small travelling circus to stay when most non-Motel 6s have a 1 or 2 dog limit. We had a good night’s rest in a safe, clean room and awoke to a decent continental breakfast. The only dark spot was when a bunch of drunken men went screaming down the hallway at some odd hour in the morning and upset our dogs, but it wasn’t an ongoing problem so I can’t hold that against the hotel. If you’re travelling across country or intentionally visiting the area, this is a safe, clean pet friendly place to stay. As far as I can tell, once you’re past Nebraska, Motel 6 is no longer a viable option.

Absolutely the worst IHG property I have ever stayed at. Near a hospital or some other medical buildings in a run down part of downtown with no where to eat within walking distance that I would eat at. When I exited the elevator to go to my non-smoking room I immediately smelled the overwhelming odor of cigarettes. I’m not a cigarette nazi by any means and this was STRONG. My room was one of two non-smoking rooms in a hallway of ALL smoking rooms. My room smelled of cigarette smoke as well. I went to the front desk and told the clerk that I was not going to be able to stay in that room because of the smoke smell and asked for another room. She told me that she could not move me because then they would not be able to rent«my room» if they filled up that night. She did reach under the front desk and hand me a can of commercial smoke odor remover and suggested I try that. Makes me pretty sure this was not the first stinking room complaint they had experienced if they keep cans of that stuff at at the front desk within easy reach. I cancelled the second night of my reservation which did not seem to bother her anpryed my room down. Didn’t help much. Bathroom floor was tacky… like too much cleaner had been used. When I stepped in the shower I almost busted my butt. The tub floor was so slick I had to rinse it with a towel with the shower running just to get my shower. I was tired after a long day so I had decided to stay the one night. A better decision would have been to check out immediately, crawl on broken glass for three miles, and check into a homeless shelter. Horrible… The one good thing I can say is that when I checked out in the morning the lady at the desk asked if everything was okay so I told her my sad sad story. She apologized and seemed to really care that my stay had been so bad. That’s not enough reason to ever stay here again though.

The staff is so helpful and accommodating. They found us a room last minute after a terrible hotel down the road. Clean room, beds and linens!

Yo We take ya to the hotel To the motel To the Holiday Inn Say what… If that place is nice enough Then we check on in This Holiday Inn was very nice for small town Iowa. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. They have a continental breakfast every morning which is pretty standard. According to my dad, I’d skip the omelets. They were pre-made and not good. There’s free coffee every morning, and all day long, actually. The pool looks like a coffin and I didn’t swim in it. We spent two nights here and had a good time. Being around family made it much more pleasant.
