Ordered take-out sandwiches for a boat picnic and the food was delicious! Matt was very helpful, and helped me pick a variety of sandwiches our group of six ladies. Also, the gluten-free bread is amazing! Thanks, Sessions!

Girlfriend had the zephyr, I had the strami. Both were really good. Crunchy bread, fresh veggies, perfect amount of sauce. My favorite part was the coleslaw on the pastrami. It was nice and vinegary, a nice break from the mayo based stuff. Oh… Get the Shaka spuds. Just do it.

Just picked randomly and have to say pleasant surprise. Great location just on the left after Pavilions supermarket on Newport Blvd after crossing over the overpass of PCH. Parking is limited. It’s a windowless sandwich shop(has breakfast too) with a wonderful kickback beach feel. We had the Yogi and it was fantastic. Make sure to check in on Unilocal for a free coffee

I’ve been coming here for the past month, at least twice a week. The food is fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Yogi and the banana bread is to die for. The staff is very friendly.

3.5 to 4 stars. I am a first time fan, employees are super ultra nice and friendly, atmosphere is casual and they have a location in Huntington Beach as well on PCH and Main. The only slight hesitation I have is that I felt extremely gassy and bloated-sorry tmi– after eating here, but I will still give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. Came in for a late lunch and decided to eat in instead of take it to go. Love the Free Unilocal check in coffee, they brew Kean which is a great OC roaster. I ordered a cold brew and really enjoyed it. I ordered the most popular sandwich on the menu, the Summer Zephyr which is basically a caprese sandwich but with marinated tomatoes, arugula, balsamic, mozzarella and some type of aioli spread and pickled onions. The pickled onions were very mellow, I could not even taste that there were onions in the sandwich, all of the flavors just screamed summer and worked very well together. I also ordered the house made chips which were kept warm under a heat lamp, fried perfectly, and delicious with fried herbs such as sage and rosemary, salt, and thinly shaved pieces of parmesan. This is located in the middle of the street when Newport and Balboa Blvd split and only go one direction each way with businesses in the middle, even so, the parking lot can be accessed from N or S bound.

I had high hopes for this place because of its reviews. Unfortunately, I did not think the food items here were that great. Since I was a new customer, I trusted the suggestions from the workers. I asked, «what is your best specialty sandwich?» She recommended I get the summer zephyr because that was the most popular sandwich. Along with the sandwich, I got the cheesecake brownie. I took a first bite of the summer zephyr, and it tasted like a salad sandwich. This did not give me any impression that this sandwich was popular because if anything, it probably would be the worst choice to recommend as a sandwich. The cheesecake brownie was REALLY dry, and tasted like dirt.(not even exaggerating). I also asked the worker if I should get the potatoe salad or the pasta salad, and she told me to get the potato salad. The potato salad was definitely gross. I tried my friend’s pasta salad, and it was way better in comparison of taste. I trusted the worker to make the best recommendations and it did not work out in my favor. Please steer clear from these two food items unless you like eating a salad sandwich or dirt clods as a brownie ANDJUSTMAKEYOUROWNDECISIONS. I learned my mistake that not everyone has the same taste. The workers were polite which is why I gave them an additional star, but the food was definitely a deal breaker for me.

Really chill place maybe a half mile or so from the pier. We got the Greatfella and Meddock Mêlée sandwiches. The Greatfella was really good… just know it’s a little spicy from the cherry peppers… that’s coming from someone that doesn’t really like too much spice. But that combined with the salami, ham, and provolone on ciabatta goes really good. The Meddock Mêlée is really good as well… on ciabatta with turkey and to me what really sets this off is the mix between guacamole and sprouts combined with the spice of jalapeño Jack, cherry pepper, and spicy ranch. Greatfella is actually spicier even though it doesn’t sound like it. Overall really good place with reasonable prices and best of all close to the beach.

Newport Sundays are my favorite Sundays. We stopped in for a quick bite between errands but this is a perfect spot to grab a meal before or after you hit the beach and bars. Sessions has its own parking lot which in this part of NB is a huge plus, but since we aren’t in the prime days of summer yet, we did spot plenty of available metered parking on Newport Blvd. We sampled two sandwiches the Meddock Mêlée and the Baller. We liked both. If you check in using your Unilocal app you can get a free Kean coffee.

I would eat here weekly, maybe more, if I lived close. Ordered up the Summer Zephyr with some help from the guy behind the counter. Told him I was a rookie & he eagerly walked me through it & their«story». Got it to-go, all picnic style, went & hiked Laguna Beach. Beautiful day. Beautiful food. Love this place. WIsh I could eat there right now!

The best sandwich EVER! OMG. Summer Zephyr is a very simple sandwich with mozzarella, arugula, tomatoes, pickled onions, balsamic reduction on a french roll yet it is incredibly flavor and nothing like the similar ones at other sandwich joints. The french roll gives it a perfect crunch every bite and it is just amazingly delicious! The vinegar based potato salad with bacon, red onions, parsley and dijon mustard is another winner! Tangy and sweet :) Love this place!

So… I come here at least once a week. I’ve tried maybe half of everything on their menu but I will eventually try it all, I’m sure. Summer Zephyr is the best for a summer day. It’s light and crisp. No meat so if you’re dieting or looking to go vegetarian this would be a great choice. My favorite to date: THEBALLER. I was looking for a cheese melt kind of sandwich but also wanted something meaty. This is everything I wanted and more. I believe it says cherry peppers in the description but I found jalapeños in my sandwich. The spice gives it a good kick without me dying over. Will reorder! I was a little disappointed with the tuna melt though. Maybe because I had to to-go when I finally got back home to eat it — it was cold and dry. And also not enough tuna was in the sandwich. Their cookies are soft and really good. But be prepare to shell out $ 3+ for one. If it makes you feel better, check in and get a cold brew to break even. I’ll be coming back again and again soon!

Saw this place on Unilocal a bit ago and knew I had to try… I’m a sucker for a good sandwich especially a good breakfast sandwich. The morning zephyr is very good! I have also tried the summer zephyr with chicken also great flavors. So this morning I wanted something on the lighter side but was still craving eggs… when going through the pics I saw that someone posted«you can make any sandwich into a salad» I was thinking how did I not know about this?! So I go to order online and yes you can get any sandwich made into a bowl and they have all these fixens you can add(a lot apparently for free… yea I don’t think of myself as cheap… let’s go with frugal at times). So I ordered the morning zephyr make it a bowl(same shit as a salad) and please add cucumber, red onions, and sprouts. Amazing… And it was still $ 9 and I feel you get a lot more bang for your buck doing it this way as long as you don’t care about the lack of bread. I always get it to go, but the place does have a chill vibe with friendly staff!

Tea came with Lemon self served so I appreciated that décor was amazing g everything was very modern edgy hipster whatever you call it. Will have to come back for a sandwich. Thank you to the kind workers here :)

Sessions is yet another sandwich shop to grace the OC food scene. The Newport location is its primary restaurant, but they recently opened a new shop in Huntington. 1. What is it like inside? It is a casual restaurant, exhibiting a beach-like atmosphere. It is obvious that the ocean is just right outside, especially with many of the patrons decked out in beach wear. 2. What should you get? The most popular sandwiches include the Summer Zephyr and the Meddock Mêlée. When we visited Sessions, we ordered: Meddock Mêlée(turkey, jalapeño jack, tomato, onion, cherry pepper, homemade guac, sprouts, adobo buttermilk dressing, on fresh baked squaw) — This seemingly healthy entrée aspires to be flavorful, but just falls flat. Overhyped. Sloppy Barney(spicy bbq pulled pork, jalapeño jack, house pickle, red onion, SoCal slaw on fresh baked ciabatta) — We enjoyed this sandwich more than the Meddock Mêlée. The pulled pork is tender and moist. The jalapeño jack and SoCal slaw takes the flavor profile of the sandwich one step further. Homemade chips — These kettle-cooked potato chips are generously sprinkled with parmesan cheese and rosemary sprigs. They are very tasty and are a nice accompaniment to the sandwiches. 3. Anything else to know? — The bread is locally sourced from OC Baking Company. — They serve Kean Coffee here. — Breakfast is served all day. The sandwiches are worth a try if you’re in the area, but they don’t warrant an intentional visit.

A whole lotta GOODVIBES emanate from Sessions West Coast Deli. There are even positive messages written on the outside ceiling, before entering the place. The positivity continues inside. On the side of the trash receptacle to the left, reads the following deep message, written in white bistro chalk marker. «When I was 5 years old my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life-When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’ they told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand LIFE». –JL Sessions has a surfer theme to it, where its surroundings convey that certain comradery, understanding, and solidarity found amongst those in the surf culture. To the right is a wall covered with wooden slats, stacked like Jenga-like pieces. In its cubby holes lay surfboard fins and skateboard wheels. The adjacent wall is covered with plastic greenery with a flat screen television showing video clips of beach activity. Behind the counter are wooden signs affixed to the ceiling, painted with the adjectives, LOCAL, ARTISAN, ALLNATURAL, ORIGINAL, ORGANIC, SCRATCH-MADE. We’ve come here several times before, after our morning sessions at Newport Beach. Cody usually takes our order. He’s awesome, but so is the rest of the Sessions crew. They are all very helpful and no superficial smiles. We’ve had all of their Signature sandwiches, which we have tried to rank below, starting from our most favorite. Sessions offers unique sandwiches, ALL of which are very delicious, so it made it very difficult to rank. 1) Summer Zephyr 2) Meddock Mêlée 3) Makena 4) Sloppy Barney Their Classic Reuben and Original El Cubano were some other tasty sandwiches we had tried. Their sandwiches must contain some secret dressing or sauce because there was just something different about each and every one of them, including the so called ‘Classics’. We also tried their Wake & Bake and Morning Zephyr Breakfast sandwiches. Best breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever had. Whatever sandwich it is that you choose, I’d suggest pairing it with their Shaka Spuds, which are sprinkled with lots of Parmesan flakes and dried rosemary leaves. I must say though that the Summer Zephyr will always be my personal favorite. The balsamic reduction and fresh mozzarella makes me keep coming back for more. As I took the last bite into my sandwich, I noticed the green metal beam overhead that read, «The best sandwich to hit the lip». That made me smile. To our Sessions Braddahs, we give you a big Shaka sign for sharing all of your good eats and good vibes.

I super enjoy this place. I’ve only tried two of their sandwiches, but I’m hooked on both of them enough to say that this place is delicious. 1. Sloppy Barney 2. Cubano Get them, enjoy. Little bit of parking in the lot. Close to the beach. Good lounging seating. Every time I’ve gone there are very few people. Super chill vibe going– perfect!

I’ve had time to mull this over and feel that Sessions Deli doesn’t deserve the hype around it. Pros: Greatfella, a pretty tasty sandwich of Italian meats on fresh bread with the smoked provolone standing out. A surprise to me was the southern chow chow, a mustard pickle relish concoction, which I asked for on the side as I was worried I might not like, but I did. Service was friendly. Cons: no a/c and not even a ceiling fan during the hot humid summer! It definitely brought down the enjoyment of eating there. Greek pasta salad side was not cold enough and there was nothing Greek about it, more Italian. I had a bite of hubbys sandwich the Baller, basically meatballs and cheese and while it was good, nothing to rave about. I felt Sessions price point was too high for what was being served up and unfortunately I found the menu lacking, as I was literally only interested in what I got and nothing else. So while I wouldnt go out of my way and drive back, it might be right up your alley of taste.

The guys here were super friendly The atmosphere was perfect chill/beach vibe And the sandwich was amazing! I got the Summer Zephyr, which is their most popular, and added turkey. I am a sandwich fiend & this definitely lived up to the hype. Perfectly balanced with the sauces, bread, mozzarella & turkey. I am a big fan of this place! Stopped in to the new Huntington location too and it was a great vibe.

After a relaxing walk around Balboa Island(daydreaming about owning a home on the island), the better half decided to have lunch on the peninsula and knock off another bookmark. Rohlinism: If you are going to walk around in a dream, might as well do it while looking at million dollar homes! Sessions West Coast Deli( ) has a small parking lot it shares with another business and there is also metered parking on Newport Boulevard. I believe there is an entrance to the parking lot on the south bound side of Newport Blvd., otherwise you have to turn onto 30th street and back north on Newport Blvd.(this street is one way) to enter the parking lot. Upon entering there is a counter and a large menu( ) right in front of you. The print is rather rough on these old eyes, so we immediately grabbed a to-go menu and started looking at the choices. After our eyes readjusted from attempting to read the menu board, we read the to-go menu and made our selections. My lovely wife went with the Greatfella(Smoked Ham, Spicy Capicola, Genoa Salami, Smoked Provolone, Southern Chow-Chow, Razor Onion, Cherry Pepper and Shredded Iceberg Lettuce) on a Fresh Baked Ciabatta sans the Cherry Pepper. I selected the Baller( ) with a small side of Greek Pasta Salad. We were able to find a corner booth and notice an interesting bit of signage( ) hanging off the ceiling. While the booth was comfortable, the temperature in the deli was very uncomfortable. There is no AC in the deli, which on most days wouldn’t be a problem being close to the ocean, but today there was no escaping the repressive heat! Our sandwiches were brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time. My better half really enjoyed the quality of the meats and cheese(nice smokiness from the provolone) and the ciabatta bread was very fresh. She decided to get the southern chow-chow on the side, because the combination of mustard, mayonnaise and relish didn’t sound very appealing, but after trying it with a bite of sandwich, the chow-chow received her seal of approval. This sandwich was a winner in her book. My Baller was stuffed full of tender and flavorful meatballs, a good amount of the smoked provolone and the red pepper marinara had an interesting sweetness from the peppers not usually found in marinara. The ciabatta was just as soft and fresh as my lovely wife’s bread. The Greek pasta salad was good, but I am not sure why it is was called Greek, it didn’t really have a Greek flavor and was more like an Italian pasta salad. Other than the odd name, it was a very good side. The service was helpful and knowledgeable. The person behind the counter was able to answer all our questions and the workers were all cheerful during our visit. Definitely would be willing to return, however not during a heat wave in California! Not«the best sandwich to ever hit my lips,» but a worthy sandwich option.
