I was reading the reviews of this place and it seems some of the complaints are of all Jersey Mikes and not just this one. I like this one because I always have friendly people helping me. The vibe they give off is friendly and inviting. As with all Jersey Mikes I don’t prefer the complicated pay screens. I do appreciate being able to to tip, a good sandwich made with love is way better than someone opening a beer for me. Service is service and I appreciate being able to pay for it. Again Jersey Mikes as a whole, I hate being asked five times what I ordered. I do if they are validating my order but it feels like are asking me again as if they have no idea. Again its how all Jersey Mikes are.

When my cousin had suggested getting a sandwich at Jersey Mike’s I was all in as I had heard good things of the chain and wanted to give it a try. She raved about the bread. Yes, the bread was good(I had the rosemary Parmesan) but I was disappointed in the sandwich as a whole. I had a turkey sandwich Mike’s Way. Even with the oil, vinegar and spices, the sandwich was very bland. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming. I liked that the meat was sliced to order, just wish it had some flavor.

…this is a review of this Mike’s Sub’s «LACKOFSERVICE»!!! We are regulars at this Newbury Park Mike’s and the food, usually #13’s has been really tasty. The manager’s(owners?) are good when they’re there… buuut…they weren’t!!! Last Friday we called in an order at about 6:15 they said 10 to 15 minutes… we got there about 6:40 I stayed in the car while my wife went in to pick up the sandwiches. The place was empty except for two people in line and one guy helping the first one behind the counter. She saw our sandwich sitting by the cash register so she walked over to the counter where the guy was making the sandwich and told him she was there for the takeout at the register… he never acknowledged her and kept talking to the guy he was making the sandwich for. She saw another guy working in the back but Mr. Sandwich did not call him out. So she just stood there waiting… then a girl came in from her break and my wife said that our sandwich was waiting at the register… the girl also ignored her and walked to the back and washed her hands… and then proceeded to speak to the guy who had just walked out from the back room. .they stood there talking to each other while staring at my wife!!! Now my wife really started fuming… Mr. Sandwich then finished the one he was working on and was about to start on the next in line who seeing how mad my wife was suggested they give her our sandwich first… about then the girl stopped gabbing and finally went over to the register to check my wife out… I had been sitting in the car checking E-Mails when all of a sudden I realized 15 or 20 minutes had passed when my wife came out the door with smoke coming out her ears… she really wanted to kill someone!!! I just noticed from your other Unilocal’S here, that this isn’t the only service complaint for this Mike’s Sub!!! We’re NOTGOINGBACK!!!

Went in last night. Two guys and one girl working there. No other customers except the girl’s mother whom she was making her sub’s for. Girl uses grill for mom’s subs while one guy takes my order of a Philly cheese steak and a Kahuna. When I was ordering, I asked if people really order the New York Steak sub. I tell him the menu overhead behind him doesn’t say«cheese.» He says, why, what does or say? I just told you, you douchebag illegitimate son of moronic Bill and Ted. He says, oh don’t worry it has cheese on it. My thought bubble says back to him, Oh, don’t worry, I’ll be sure to share this moment on Unilocal that I’m having here with an idiot Jersey Mike’s sandwich artist. Other guy then rings me up, complete with the tacky begging for a tip on the debit card swiper. Girl finishes and wraps mom’s sub’s, but order taking guy delays starting my subs for no apparent reason except he’s part sloth and is ignorant of the words«good and efficient service.» I actually thought the girl was making my sub’s until they were handed to mom. Guy finally gets the fixins going on the grill for my subs. Flavor and value: The only good thing was the roll on the subs. Neither sub had a satisfying amount of cheese. The Kahuna even said extra cheese. Right. The Kahuna had jalapeños, but they’re the gross pickled ones with a sweetness to them. Blech. Neither sub had enough grilled peppers in the mix, just lots of onions. And the peppers were red. I like green peppers on my cheese steak, and I can taste the difference. Both sub’s were waaaaay too salty. And overpriced. When this Mike’s opened years ago, there was a nice pro attitude and no sloth. Its obvious why this one rarely has customers in it or is busy with take out. I don’t recommend and won’t be back.

Went on Monday, March 30th at 8:48& asked if they were still open. I got a loud and very cheerful YES! I ordered a Giant Pastrami. Excellent service and tasty sub. $ 15 was a little high-priced, but food was great.

They sure were in a hurry to get rid of me tonight. I showed up at 8:45(closing is 9:00). The first thing I hear after asking how they were doing was, «Just getting ready to leave.» They were in the middle of disassembling the slicing equipment, so after I placed my order I get, «You might just want to have a seat, this sandwich is going to take a while.» Finally, before even asking what I want on my sandwich, I get some other pre-adult hurrying me up to pay. I will admit, they do have great food but tonight’s bad customer service is not even my biggest complaint. The biggest problem is after spending nearly $ 20 on a combo, they have the nerve to add in a gratuity option on their credit card machine. Really??? Subway doesn’t ask for a gratuity. They make sandwiches to order too, at 1⁄3 the price I might add. Why is Jersey Mike’s so special? Ridiculous!

I want to commend the friendly staff, especially the manager who is always busting his butt keeping things moving. I was like 5th in line and he yelled out, «Anyone having a hot sandwich»? I was the only one who indicated yes, so he took started cooking my hot pastrami while I waited in line. Now that is smart and efficient! Quality meats, very good portions. Prices a bit high, but I’d rather pay a few bucks more for the upgrade in quality compared to those ‘other’ sandwich places. I will say paying is slightly annoying, often getting bombarded with hard sells on reward card, charities, tips. I just want my sandwich man, don’t go overboard on me. I don’t like being asked to tip either, bad form and can make many customers uncomfortable. Overall, great sandwich shop!

The sandwiches here are ok… nothing special. As others have noted, the. staff here do talk a lot… not a big deal if i didn’t have to repeat my order twice. However, the checkout process really turned me off… A series of annoying questions and a really tacky(for a deli) gratuity suggestion onscreen when i swiped my card. No thanks… we need something better in NP

Great sandwiches, made to order so made the way each person likes. What made this place even better than the sandwiches was the friendly chatty attitude of both the guys behind the counter. Service wasn’t fast, but the time did go by quickly, making it a good experience.

Good sandwiches, friendly staff, and some outside seating. They have an NFC reader on the pay terminal so you can pay with Google Wallet or Apple pay

I love Jersey Mike but not this location. If you want large, you better say Medium as their Medium is large and Large is Giant. All workers suffer from ADD. They can ask you what you want but then they focus on other orders coming from behind and then they ask you again only to switch back to other orders. They are also not attentive. I asked to toast the bread but they did not do that. I also do not like that they use a dirty cloth to wipe out the preparation board and whatever falls on the board is put back on the sandwich. Checkout is lengthy and exhaustive. I hate the fact that I have to put in a tip or decline it. I decline the tip and they looked at me like they were going to kill me.

Sometimes, I just want to simply grab a sandwich on my lunch break and not be subjected to a 5-minute survey upon checking out. «Do I want chips and a drink?» Thanks for asking, but I’m good. «Are you sure? You’ll get to donate a dollar to some charity?» That’s nice, but I just want the sandwich. «Well, do you have a rewards card?» No I don’t. «Do you want a rewards card?» No –_-. «Alright, how are you paying?» Credit card. «Would you like to leave a tip?» No. I spent more time paying than I did ordering and having them make the sandwich.

I keep coming back and each time it’s just as good if not better. I’ve visited a few different locations and this one is by far the friendliest and cleanest in the area. The staff is always friendly and the bread and meat always fresh. My favorite sandwich is the Italian Combo done Mike’s Way with all the goodies. Every day after 5pm they have happy hour specials where you can add an additional Giant sized sandwich for only $ 5. These sandwiches are enough to feed 2 people twice. Thanks Jersey Mike’s for always giving consistent good food and service!

We get these subs catered to work every couple of weeks. which would be the only reason why I’d eat them. Free food is free food… The sandwiches are very standard, nothing that blows you away. The regular fixings: ham, tuna, turkey, roast beef, etc. The bread is a bit dry and sometimes hard… kind of like styrofoam. I’m just not a fan. Two points because they have good cookies.

#56 Big Kahuna Cheese steak, extra onions & peppers, add Chipotle & the hubby & I are loving it! Oh, we get it on wheat bread, cause somehow the wheat will counter act the cheese…

Gotta tell you, I love Jersey Mike’s on most occasions — but today I knew it was going to be a challenge. Usually, Ricardo and the staff are terrific. They love to talk it up and engage with the guests. Tonight was going to be tough. 2 people behind the counter and 10 people waiting to be helped. This is the time NOT to ask questions and tell stories. As Gerald Ford once discovered, it’s difficult to walk and chew gum at the same time. I ordered a ‘sub in the tub’ and a hot sandwich. Both were sub par in their creation. Too many sandwiches to make and not enough time to really put enough effort into them. The wife said the salad was awful in comparison to what she’s had in the past. She asked me if they even put any lettuce on it, meaning they short changed her on the veggies. My son asked if they heated up the sandwich on the grill and I said it was supposed to be, well you get it. I even watched the sandwich artist(that’s what I think they call them), slap mustard on someone’s sandwich(per request) and drip it all over the sides of the bread. maybe not an artist, more like finger painting. To top it all off, there was a third employee and she was sitting at one of the tables eating. One would think when it’s busy, you all help or sit somewhere out of sight. Come on Ricardo, your store can do better.

Customer services goes a long way. I’ll say this — I love Jersey Mike’s food and there are some people working at Jersey Mikes that are really fantastic(one man in particular who is always upbeat and friendly — I’m assuming he’s a manager). I am shooting a film in the Newbury Park area and thought it would be a nice treat to cater lunch from Jersey Mikes! We always do Subway, but Jersey Mikes is so much more flavorful. Anyways, I called yesterday to get pricing and see if catering was in my budget for the shoot. The guy I spoke to had zero idea about pricing and then asked a manager, who also didn’t know, but was supposed to check. The guy then took down my number saying that a female manager would be calling me back. Guess what? No phone call. That’s a big, no-no, as somebody that has worked for years in customer service. Even if she was to say, «I couldn’t find out the pricing yet, but I’ll be in touch.» NOTHING. So I call back today asking for pricing. This guy also doesn’t know about catering or pricing and when I tell him nobody called back yesterday– he then recommends giving me another number to call to get the information. I was driving so I could not take down the number. What would have been EXCELLENT service would be to apologize for the lack of follow up and then proceed to take down MY number so that he can pass it on to the appropriate person to call ME. Instead of gaining a potentially great order — they lost my business — permanently.
