IHOP

I was in the mood for some breakfast food, because who doesn’t love and crave that morning meal? But it turned out to be a disappointing experience…
Right away there was poor service and low quality food. I had to tell the waiters 4 times for a refill for water. I guess they don’t comprehend basic english. Hmm.
Food was definitely all made from ages ago and has the color of an old shoe. Fresh food… straight from the microwave. Crepes were completely soggy as well as straight disgusting. Nice attempt at trying to compensate it with fruit and high fructose syrup. The bacon had no fresh color and looked blacker than a Nigerian prince. The boiled eggs were days old and thought I had bitten into a piece of mold. Jesus.
In all, this establishment had poor quality food and service. Definitely would not recommend going here for any reason unless you have kids to let loose and have them running around and screaming.

Stopped coming to what was my go to place several years ago when pancakes were uncooked in the middle. Came today 02÷01÷16 pancakes ok but hash browns uncooked and cold. Just like a few years ago when we told the waitress, she disappeared until billing time. Bill came, told her again and she disappeared for good. I give up.

I very much like IHOP for breakfast. I especially like this location the food and service are always good. Today we had a nice waiter named Sergio who was very attentive and polite. He made sure our beverages were filled and asked several times how we were doing and if we needed anything. We have a 1 year old toddler and Sergio was very patient with us as we requested an extra plate and juice for our son. I appreciate service like this and I hope Sergio is still working there next time we come in. Will definitely ask to be seated in his area.

I was pleasantly surprised!
Country Fried steak was good, but I forgot it came with pancakes, so those were wasted.
Daughter had a craving again for the Swedish pancakes and they did not disappoint.
Will return!

Where to start. Service is ok for the most part I come early morning on sundays before work with my fam so for the most part I cant complained about seat time.
Ordering can be a hit or miss most of the waitresses hear seem to be really nice but sometimes a bit slow but again it mite just be the time I come in.
Ordering food seems to be perty easy you tell them what you want and they bring so not much to say.
Now food: I am not shure in what order they bring it out but this past 2 times my food seems to be cold or lukewarm. I ask my waitress to reheat and to bring me a second hot chocolate becuse it was cold. Her reaponse was «it just came out, but I can take it back if you like, it has not been touch has it». Hmmm so how was I to know if it’s hot or not if it has not been touch anyhow like I said she took it back re heated and brought it back. I do feel like ther morning staff needs to wake up I know is early but you are at work and the place is not pack for you to be taking to long and bringing coold food.
Hope next weeks goes better or I will need to fine onither place for sunday breakfast wit fam

What can I say? I feel like all IHOP restaurants are the same. There servers here are great most of the time. But when you come on Sunday morning, don’t expect the service to be quick. When I go any other time, usually at night for dinner, the service is exceptional and the food doesn’t take long to come out. But Sunday brunch resulted in everyone getting their breakfast foods, eating, and ready to leave. That was when my bleu cheese bacon burger came out.
Since we don’t have many small business breakfast/​brunch places open late, I’ll have to settle coming back here. Don’t get the chicken and waffles because the chicken is more on the dry side.

Warmly served during today’s visit in this restaurant. Have heard much about it but their food turned out to be nothing but disappointment. My friend paid $ 15.99 for the medium cooked T-​Bone (never try that) half of which is too raw to chew. The hash-​brown is bad too. Would rather go to Country Way for the same money. Service is the only reason for 2 stars

I like this IHOP compared to the one in Union Landing as that location is always busy especially on the weekends! I still love having breakfast for lunch or dinner or anytime! I am pretty regular here as I go during work lunches.
They have other regular meals with good portions and good drinks. IHOP in generation is my go to favorite place for crepes or pancakes. You have to try the strawberries and cream crepes, pancakes or waffles! I loved the International Passport which was crepes with Nutella and berries or strawberries. They don’t offer that anymore since Nutella is expensive and nut allergic to others from what they said? Banana pancakes are good, too. For meals, I get the crepes florentine, chicken waffles or Tilapia fish. All good portions where you never leave hungry! Not good for my diet! ;-p.
You pay at the front after done; easy… This location has good customer service and I see regular waiters for the last few years. I will be dedicated at least to this location! :-)

This IHOP is a lot bigger than most. Seating was quick for a sunday morning and the waitress catered to our many demands and requests.

Forgot to tell our server I did not want a side of grease YUCK! I have no idea why there was funny tasting and looking pot roast type meat in my omelet?! I didn’t even finish my meal as it was making me sick. Service was not so great due to lack of refilling drinks and not checking in and forgetting parts of our order.

I’ve been going to this iHop for a couple years now. The pancakes are ALWAYS good and amazingly always run into the same waitress. She always recognizes me and my friend which is very welcoming each visit :). Her name is Rosie and she is half the reason why I go here everytime! I will always love this place!

The breakfast was super. Love the new stuffed waffle crousant thing. Mine had a cheese sauce filling with strawberries on top. Hilda was a really nice and attentive server. Did not expect it to be busy on a Friday brunch time but it was and now I know why. Good food and good service will win every time

Great service good breakfast. Great experience today. I walked the lake got fit fare walked back. Good way to start mornings in Newark. Don’t forget to use your AAA!!!

Ordered to go on the phone: raspberry white chocolate chips pancake, stuffed french toast and crispy chicken tenders with fries. I repeated my orders to the person and he confirmed yes. We just got home and it was missing the stuffed french toast and my fries were soggy! On top of that, $ 9 for a freaking pancakes!!! Ridiculous!!! Never coming back again!!!

Nice and clean. Came here for breakfast. French toast was good but a bit soggy for my taste.
Server was really nice, but I feel she had too many tables. Service was a bit slow because of that.
When we came there was no wait… which is good!
Anyway, I like ihop so I will come again.

— Valentine’s Day Lunch with my family @1:46PM Check #3860. We were greeted very genuinely with the 3 hosts (3 young guys) They asked us how we were, said happy Valentine’s Day & showed us to our table, offered to help my mother (older) & my brother (on crutches).
— Corrina was the best server! She was very friendly & was super sweet to my daughter. She brought my daughters food out before everyone else’s which is thoughtful (anxious hungry 2 yr old) All our food was great. We never had to ask for anything, she was that attentive — things just appeared. extra water, more napkins, hot sauce, to go box, etc.
— Truly loved my experience at this location especially on this day!

Service is definitely 5 stars but the food is so-​so. Been here twice and great waitress both times. And there seems to be a culture of service with everyone. It’s so great to eat in a place where it’s like that. Food is my only reason not giving them 5 stars. It’s not awful though. It’s that Demnys/​Cocos/​Carrows/​IHOP taste. But definitely top of that list. Be specific about your expectations on the food and the waitress will make it happen

2 stars only because the food had always been good, but the experience and the service are absolutely terrible.
Both times server «Rolf» has helped us and both time worst experience ever. First time we went in he smelled terribly of cigarette smoke and continuously touched his face and hair, along with this he kept going into the back room or kitchen and not coming out for 10 – 15 minutes so we just sat there with no food no drinks, nothing. It took him 3 – 4 tried to get our order correct and was just very slow in general.
Went again and to out dismay we got the same waiter. This time he and a coworker were sitting in a booth talking for most of the time. He took our order and sat down, then we waited a long time for our food, he got our food and then disappeared. We finished eating and waited almost 20 minutes for him to come back with a check or to see how we were doing. Finally I had to wave at him to get him to stop chatting with his buddy. Took incredibly long time to do anything and kept sitting down to chat instead of doing his job.
Do yourself a favour and drive to another ihop if you see him.

My family and I have come to this IHOP for ages, and up until recently the service had been great.
I am writing this review specifically about my visit tonight. We were served by Rolf, who smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke each time he came to our table (the few times he did anyway) that the smell stuck to our clothes when we left. He came to our table all of 3 times, and would CONSTANTLY rub his head while handling our food.
I was completely disgusted with the service and do not plan to come back to this location again.

I really like coming to this IHOP whenever I feel like having a big American-​style breakfast. Been here a few times in the past and tried many items off their menu. I’m not a pancake-​kinda guy (do not like the mushy sensation in my mouth) so I usually go with some kind of french toast or vegetable omelette.
In all my times coming here, I’ve always had a great experience with the service. The food comes out in a timely fashion and the waiters/​waitresses never get my order wrong. When I ask for my hashed brown to be more crisp, my hash brown comes out more crisp. When I ask for my eggs not to be too drippy, my eggs come out not too drippy. Basically, I get what I ask for… exactly how it should be for all restaurants.
Price is reasonable. Service is excellent. Food is not bad.
