I lived in Fremont my whole life and have driven passed this place almost everyday. Finally I decided to try it. I give this place 2 stars because when I came inside to dine in, there was seriously no ventilation. I left with my clothes smelling like food. The service was not that wonderful. It took a long time for our food to come out… When it’s so easy to make. It wasn’t even crowded so we didn’t understand why it was taking so long. When all of the food came out, we noticed that some of plates weren’t warm anymore… They should’ve just given our food as they were finished made, and not all together at once. Overall, I probably wouldn’t come back here.

I enjoyed my visit! Could’ve been a bit better but nonetheless it was a nice diner. I got garlic fries and a couple eggs under 9 $!

Ordered from doordash: I called the restaurant with a question and the lady who answered was very nice and very helpful… so, great customer service. I got the bacon cheeseburger(I also Ordered an over easy egg and put it on the burger) and apple pie with a little melted cheddar cheese on the top. The burger was HUUUUUGE! I actually had to take a little bit of the toppings off because it was so big I couldn’t fit it in my mouth. I took two bites of the burger and I ate about half the fries and was totally full! The only reason I gave the diner four stars instead of five is because of the pie… It didn’t even look like a piece of pie at all it was just mashed up mess. It was pretty unappealing to look at and it tasted overdone. I was really sorry to see this because everything else was good.

I’ve passed by this place for YEARS! I stopped by nation’s up the street and realized it was closed down(They moved). It was just then that I somehow remembered this place. I always wanted to try it but never really popped into my head when I was hungry and in the area. I came in and had a seat right away. The first table I sat at didn’t work for me(Guy behind me ordered the liver and onions plate, I cant stand that smell). Im glad only because I was able to move to a window seat and the brightness just had a better vibe than the table I originally sat at, plus I got fresh air from being so close to the front doors. Anyway, I ordered a Be Bopper with Beer Battered Onion Rings. I really enjoyed my burger and the onion rings. The bread they used for the burger was really good, but the thick generous bacon was what did it for me. The onion rings were slightly over done, but to be honest, Im that guy that likes my fries/onion rings extra crispy so this didn’t bother me one bit. My only regret was not ordering a shake to go with my meal. I wasn’t thinking strait from being hungry and honestly, the one thing you always order at a 50’s diner is a milk shake and I failed to meet this tradition. lol Service was also really good, prompt service and my drink never went dry. For sure I will be back again, I have to make things right and order a milk shake!

I’ve ordered take-out before coming here in person and it was just as lousy. I gave it a second chance because I really wanted to have a nice regular place to come to. Pros: –Elvis statue Cons: –dirty table –bright pink lipstick on my cup –dirty fruit cup(which consists of a handful of rotting grapes and a wedge of orange) –dry and burnt patty –old vegetables served –bad waiting service(no knowledge of the menu, no listening skills)

I’m not very fond of 50’s era décor, and dreaded having to walk past that Elvis statue to enter, but grabbed a choice window booth offering a view of traffic as a distraction. I had been here once before, and remembered the burger I had wasn’t that great, but it was time to give them another chance. Right after being seated, the waitress came by with the menu, and took my drink order for a hot tea. The tea came with both a lemon wedge and a honey packet. Since menu is so enormous, I just ordered the first thing that jumped out at me — a BLT. After fifteen minutes my order was up. I took fries as the side. These fries are the kind that are eatable only with ketchup, as they wern’t to tasty. The BLT on the other hand was really delicious! Right off the stove bacon, fresh, crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes. This is what a BLT is meant to be! The waitress checked several times to make sure everything was OK. I’ll be back to try some of their dinners.

My bf & I went to breakfast here a couple weekends ago since we were waiting for his car tires to be replaced at America’s Tire Co.(about a block or two away). We were walking around and stumbled upon Classic Diner. It says«50s Diner» on the outside and it resembles Johnny Rocket’s but a bit more casual when you walk inside. You seat yourself and the service is really quick! The menu is full of all the good stuff — scrambles, pancakes, omelettes, etc. and fairly priced, especially considering how much food they give you! We were stuffed by the time we left and will definitely be coming back soon.

Came in for lunch on a rainy day one afternoon. I’ve dined here several times during the 16 years I’ve been a resident of Fremont. It’s exactly as the name implies … a classic diner with classic diner food. It’s a nice spot to get breakfast and lunch, although I’ve never had dinner here… This visit I had the California chicken sandwich. It was nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. A lean piece of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, avocado with mayo and a side of French fries. If you’re looking for some classic and simple, this is your place. The décor is great with a nice 50’s theme to it. Hint: Order anything that’s on a bun as they bake their own buns in house…

We like to bring our Llasa Apso, Mocha so can appreciate that they have outside seating. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is absolutely fantastic. I had the All American with a short stack and Beth tried the Eggs Florentine

Fine for breakfast once in a while. The place has become a bit old and does need a makeover. Service is average and maybe better than your local IHOP but nothing great to rave about. The food is standard.

So we came back this past Sunday again because my fiancé really liked his chorizo breakfast last time. We got here around 10:30 and didn’t get our food until 11:30. That was a little crazy but we didn’t have too much to do so we just rolled with it. I got the french toast, which was good but the portion was pretty small. I think it has to do with the bread they used because it turned into a tiny little triangle after cooking. There was 4 pieces but it really was the size of 2. My bf once again like his food a lot but I am still not convinced. I think maybe sitting inside might get us noticed and serviced on faster next time and Ill make a note to maybe order something else on the side. Increased a star since the fiancé liked his food but 1 hour wait from sitting down to getting our food was a bit much. Lets hope third time will be perfect!

Something about eating in a classic 50’s style diner that just evokes memories of movies like«Grease» and«Pleasantville». Tunes to The Platters will croon to you as you sip on a milk shake. Photos of Brando, Marilyn, and James Dean smirk at you as you nosh on a burger. What is not to like?! Love having late lunches here. It is so laid back, as I grab a paper from the front and indulge in very comforting diner fare. Sometimes I’ll do a breakfast plate, other times a no frills burger with a home baked bun. While other times I’ll delve into a more substantial dinner plate where I will be forced to take a to-go box due to the generous servings. Things I love here: Sausage and Pancake breakfast. Classic. Jalapeño Burger. The buns here make their burger experience. Tri-tip Dinner. Massive serving of seared roast tri tip with au jus for dipping. Feeling sleepy just talking about it. The Shakes. Wished they had more flavors like coffee, but a chocolate-banana is straight from childhood. A meal here always gets me to shake my hips like Elvis in his prime. Not sure if that’s entirely a good thing though. : /

We tried it for the first time, for breakfast. We walk in and first thing we see is a sign that says to seat yourself, and no one was there to assist us. We could see only one big enough table in the room we were in, so we start walking towards it. Then we finally see an employee who is walking towards that table and tells us that it is taken as she is bringing another party to the table. Uh, I thought we were supposed to seat ourselves, so we should have been able to sit there? So then I think, is there no space left for us? A waiter told us to go on the other side of the restaurant all the way to the back. So we go over there where booths are and there are 2 empty in the very back. We start to sit at the first one and then an employee coming with another party is saying they are coming to sit there. I felt like everyone else was getting lead in by people to tables and taking the ones we were going to sit at, while no one was helping us. We didn’t even want the last one that was right next to the restroom, and did not have a good odor there. At this point my husband wanted to leave already, but it would have been a huge nuisance since we were running out of time to eat since we had to be somewhere. Then that party at that first table I guess decided not to stay there, so we got to take that table. I was impressed with the variety of the menu and prices were reasonable. We were happy to finally have our food and started to enjoy our meal when all of a sudden our eyes started to sting and tear up. They must have been cutting onions! My son’s eyes were like in pain and he had to run outside. I let the staff at the front know, to see what they would do for us, and apparently they were not offering us any solutions. When I went outside I saw there was an empty table there so I told my son to sit there. I told the staff that we could not stay inside where we were, especially my son, and that we going to move outside. I had to bring out our meals/drinks by myself carrying them all from the very back of the restaurant, no one from the restaurant bothered to help, even though I told them what was going on. So my son and I finished our dishes outside while the other half of my family stayed inside to finish their meals quickly since they were almost done, even though their eyes were stinging. While outside, no servers ever bothered to come over and ask if we needed anything. We needed a to-go box, so when my other son was finished and came out I had him go back inside to get us one. We left quickly and I was so disappointed at such a ruined meal and felt like no employees there bothered to assist us at all when we really needed help. It was horrible meal experience, I seriously felt like a 3rd class citizen there because of the way we were treated and not getting any help when there was a big problem. We were completely on our own there. I will never be back.

I just ordered 3 breakfasts for 2 people — and it was great. The value is as sweet as their syrup, and the food was as good as the new muffler I’m about to install on my ride. Come here, get full, and enjoy your 4th of July. Because this is Murica. And Classic Diner is Murica.

This is my NEW go to place for a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on Marble bread(I think that’s what it is called). They are the BEST, and the fries were perfect as well. I will definitely be back for more. Diner was very clean, friendly staff, prices reasonable!!!

Updated review: After reading my review, owner e-mailed me and apologized for the service. I apprecaite the effort. It sounds like they had a busy day and are generally better at service. I will stop by to give another shot. Nice 80s ambience. however service is very slow and sloppy. I got breakfast combo which included meat, egg and waffle. It was ok. Nothing spectacular. Given so many options, I may check out some other places.

I was pretty impressed with their food! Service was great the girl that attended to us was really nice and never gave us an attitude for our back n forth requests. I asked for egg whites and they said ok =) Only one complaint… Their hot chocolate taste like water. We did end up getting it replaced and done right. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back for their all you can eat for $ 10!
