We’ve been here several times over the years, but started visiting regularly when we moved to New Castle. I experimented with several items before trying the Burrito Grande, now that’s just about the only thing I order! Try it with the jalapeño cream sauce.

We’ve been coming here for years and invited our friends after our boys played an away game in Rifle on our way home. Embarrassed by the food and service on a Tuesday night. Steaks were cold and had way too much gristle. When asked for two sides and my friend asked if she could get a double side salad they said yes but then they gave her a smaller salad than the rest of the party. I had a Cobb salad. For nearly $ 12 I got one egg, no more than two thinly sliced pieces of chopped turkey, a few dried cranberries, no cheese at all, no bacon, no tomatoes. It was awful. Couldn’t find the wait staff to take dirty plates away, order dessert or pay for our check. The only one working hard was the high school busser/hostess who worked her tail off. This will be our last trip to Elk Creek.

Love this place! Burgers are fantastic, sandwiches are delicious! Great atmosphere, it’s easy to support this local restaurant. This has been me and my husbands go to spot when I don’t feel like cooking and it is always phenomenal!

It’s ok, I have a few different things on menu. Breakfast really good. But everything else is like primo out of can. It’s ok, with good service but there menu is all over the place… Maybe it’s just me, my wife likes it but me not so much. I’d prefer it was more of a specially place. Steakhouse or something. Good luck guys, great location

Pretty good food. Some things can be bland. The steak can be tough. The nachos are good and they are huge. Often my husband and I come and just order nachos and drinks for dinner. I also like the build your own pasta. I don’t like the fajitas, they are tough. The service is always fast and friendly.

Traveling in a bluegrass band we stop a lot at bars and pubs along the way from coast to coast, and I have to say that this place is absolutely fantastic. Attentive and friendly service, great breakfast menu done right(not to mention delicious), $ 6 bloody bar, ice cold beer(coming from a fridge and then placed in ice), everything you’re looking for in a stop in along the road. This coming from a Portlander, and for some reason Portland claims to have«reinvented brunch,» and the Elk Creek Mining Co’s Benedict rivals and even beats some of those hoity-toity establishments. High ten, and stop in here.

I’ve gotten a variety of dishes from here now and have loved every one(the fajita salad with angus is awesome). Delicious food and great drinks. Highly recommend. If you’re a margarita fan, try the moonshine margarita, it’s so good.

Bloody Mary bar Sundays! Great breakfast. Great Service! The owners actually work here, and are very pleasant and hard working. They take pride in their business, and welcome feedback. Very nice folks.

Such a disappointment. Our service was terrible! No one ever asked us if we needed anything and we did not even get what we ordered. When we brought this to the waitresses attention(30 minutes later because we couldn’t find her) she simply said«oh yea, they changed the food but forgot to change the menu» we still had to pay for it all!!! Bad customer service!

I don’t get up to Glennwood Springs area as much as I wish but when we do go up we eat at Elk Creek Mining. I love their prime rib, the problem is it used to seem like their prices have gone up. The staff here are wonderful and treat you like family. My salad was great. My prime rib was cooked really well but it was much smaller then I remember from the time before from the price. I got a baked potato and let’s face it that’s hard to screw up so it was good. It’s a good place to eat but with the price change I might venture out to some new places in my future travels

Have been here two different times. Both times there has been something wrong with our order-food not received sane as menu description. Our daughter ordered a kids pasta and it was less than 20 small bow tie pasta in a bowl with some sauce — needless to say she left very hungry. Restaurant definitely not worse the price.

I have eaten many, many times at Elk Creek and for the most part, had decent meals. During the month of October, I ordered take out 2 different times, and 2 different times they did not get my order correct. The second time, not only was my order wrong, when I arrived one of the 2 items was sitting in the window ready to go. I had to wait almost 10 more minutes for the 2nd item to be ready. Needless to say the first item was cold and soggy by the time I got it home(3 minutes away). I can honestly say I have not plans of getting take out again and was so annoyed with the whole situation that I haven’t been back for dinner. I am sure I will go back, but only for dine in where I can send my food back if it is wrong.

It was OK. My daughter ordered a buffalo chicken salad and ended up with a buffalo chicken sandwich, so we sent it back and she ended up with some other salad with cold pre-grilled chicken in it and some weird dill cheese. We probably would have sent THAT back but I’d already had my food for 15 minutes and she was starving. Buffalo chips are good, but I got about 10… not what I’d consider a serving… A bit overpriced for the service and the servings.

We love Elk Creek Mining Co. When we get into town, that is one of our first stops. The Green Chile is fabulous!

Well, I’m a vegatarian, so I would have to rate it pretty low. There’s really not much to get for myself, but I could see how some people would like it. I just get a grilled cheese, or something simple like that. What I get usally isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. It’s just something that I could easily make at home for half of the price. The other thing that really bothers me about this place is the layout. Everything is very split up and there are just rows of tables to the back, as if you were eating in a hallway with tables in it. It just feels wrong. The bar seems like it could be nice to watch a game at, but I would reccomend going to White River bar and Grille down the street for MUCH better TV’s, and an overall better layout. The place is cute, and has character while going along with the whole mining theme. Wouldn’t reccomend it.

The food was ok. It was a cute place with some charm. Nothing is bad but will not overwhelm you. Basic side salad and the bake potato was very small. Friendly service. May go back and give another try.
