Great food, great people. If you haven’t tried this place out, give it a shot, you won’t be dissatisfied. If you are on a tight budget, the prices will be a little more than expected. Great for a date nite, get there at 5 because it can get pretty busy.

It was a good place to eat, but it is way to expensive we ordered 3 sandwich and one desert and we just had water and it was $ 60 for all of our food you can make those sandwiches at home I don’t see what is so special about this place

Super awesome place to eat because the food and staff are great. Really refreshing to not have a waiter, which provides a social interaction with the kitchen. Walk in, grab a menu, decide, place your order at the counter, relax at your table, pick up your order, enjoy a great meal, bus your table, order a delicious desert. Repeat.

A slice of heaven in New Castle, CO! We saw this new little restaurant in New Castle a few days ago when driving through Town on a different mission! We decided to drive out from Glenwood Springs last night to try it out! Hubby and I both had the steak with au gratin potatoes! The steak was beautifully seasoned with tarragon, the zucchini sautéed al dente with garlic(and not bastardized) and the au gratin potatoes were homemade and TODIEFOR! The bread was all homemade and served with nice room temp real butter. Everything made from scratch and delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the owners and laughing with them for a few minutes after dinner! I am a chef and very critical about food. Maud’s is a breath of fresh air and well worth the short trip from neighboring towns! We WILL be back… REALLYSOON! Kudos to the great concept and fantastic little eatery!!!

Foodie heaven in little New Castle! SO worth the 10 minute drive if you’re staying in Glenwood Springs. I was blown away by the food. Everything is made in-house, and made well. I got lunch, then ordered more to-go for dinner and dessert later. It’s not cheap, but I don’t think they are overcharging. If your sandwich has two kinds of homemade bread, and is perfection on a plate, the higher price is justified. Go to Subway if cheap is your priority. The Jenwich(see photo) was way too tall to fit in anybody’s mouth, except maybe a competitive eater. But it was handy that when opened, each side was the same(see photo again). The sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m a sandwich fanatic! The turkey breast was perfectly roasted(in-house), thick sliced, and didn’t have that icky turkey lunch meat flavor. There was light rye on top, and pumpernickel on the bottom… yes, both fresh baked. There were sauteed onions & mushrooms, provolone, mayo, and the ripe red kind of tomato you don’t want to pull off your sandwich. Every morsel of food on the plate was delicious! The staff was very friendly and circulated there small dining room to chat up customers. I am in town for a few days and will be back to Maud’s one more time.

I don’t mind going to the counter to order as long as the food is this good! I had the almond crusted chicken and cream of cauliflower soup and it was delicious. My companions also loved their selections. I will be back!

Very good, new restaurant in downtown New Castle. You have to order at the counter and get your own water, so that’s a little confusing for first timers, but was easily overcome with how fast we picked this up. Excellent food and amazing dessert-highly recommended-pull off the interstate and find this place!

We stopped into Maud’s last night for dinner because I didn’t feel like cooking, and because we’ve been wanting to try it out. This restaurant is quaint and cozy and small… inside it seats roughly 20 – 26(I didn’t count) and outside there are two bistro tables. The prices are a bit high, but the food is made fresh, it’s delicious and well worth it. ~ They have a nice selection of red and white wines, and foreign and domestic beers. ~ The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, too! ~ I had The Molly Cristo which is made on french toast with turkey, ham and broccoli, and two cheeses, with a raspberry sauce. It was just too much for one sitting so I ate half and gave the other half to my husband for his lunch today. He ordered the Reuben and he absolutely loved it. It was the best Reuben he’s found since moving to Colorado six years ago, and he’s a bit of a Reuben Connoisseur. We’re not talking cheap deli meat here. This is shaved off the roast with the 1000 Island on the side. ~ We ordered a slice of Coconut Cream Pie to go, and we were not disappointed with that deliciousness either. ~ Yep! We are definitely fans.

We tried the new place in town — we had heard that food was good but expensive. The word around town is correct. The place is very nicely remodeled and has a nice color scheme. Does not have a ton of seating. There is no children’s menu so if taking children expect $ 10-$ 14 per sandwich. Only have bottle and canned beverages at $ 2 – 3 each. We ordered 2 sandwiches which the menu states comes with the daily salad. Neither one had a salad with it; when asked they said our mistake but I then only got one side instead of two. My husband got a $ 7 piece of pie and we have had better. You bus your own table which for the price of the food seems out of place. The sandwiches were ok but a $ 12 hamburger with no side(ours was forgotten) seems very high. My sandwich the Molly cristo was good but not great.

This has been some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time, let alone in this town. Walking in you notice how beautiful the place is, and every detail down to the lightbulbs have been perfected. The self service is new for me, but it does work well. The best part was definitely the delicious food. You really could tell that everything was made in the restaurant and not frozen. It was extremely fresh, and delicious. I would have never thought that the combination of Apple sauce, cheese, sour kraut, and eggs would be so good. While I can’t explain the flavor, I can explain that it was delicious! As a vegetarian, ordering was great. The woman seemed very passionate about her cooking, and was happily able to confirm that the meal would be vegetarian, but warned me that it may not be vegan or gluten-free. I really appreciated knowing exactly what I was getting. The salad and bread were also very good. I particularly enjoyed the upscale drink menu– containing San Pellegrino, Snapple, and more local tea. Finally, the desert was extremely good. I’d say that might have been the best pie I’ve ever had. The amount of raspberries in the pie were amazing– the amount of raspberries alone should have cost more than the entire piece. The crust was buttery, and the homemade whipped cream was fantastic. The great service, classy interior, and perfect food will definitely have us returning.

Great new place in town! For being a small town, New Castle is lucky to have so many decent restaurants. Maud’s sets a new standard. Wonderful flavors and homemade desserts. Hubby had Perogies and he loved them. I had Steak with Au Gratin potatoes. Meat was very well seasoned and great! However, the self-service water and bussing our own tables is a little out of place for such a nice little restaurant. We’ll be back often!
