Ever since I was a freshman at Rutgers University, I’ve enjoyed coming to I’s! I actually used them for a event for over 1000 people and they delivered bubble tea on time and as good as I would have it if I went by myself, or even better! I would even go as far as to say that I’s is the best bubble tea around. Look forward to coming back soon.

The bubble tea shop has an interesting story behind it… well not really, a Rutgers alumna actually open this is little shop up. This is one of three main bubble tea shop on Easton Ave, personally I prefer Hokkaido. They have a lot of other bake goods that are being sold here. I am just rating this shop by there bubble tea, you have to try the goods yourself. The bubble tea here is good, but it is much better than Noodle Gourmet. However, I still find it too sweet and the drinks tend to have too much powder, which makes them very gritty.

I’s Café has a great variety of bubble tea flavors available. Starting from classical taro milk tea to sophisticated oreo cookies and cream almod fusion, I give credit to I’s for their creativeness. If you walk in to I’s Café, you’ll be overwhelmed by numerous posters on their walls.(If you don’t know what you want, you can take into considerations of their top 10 bubble teas!) Overall my friends and I loved exploring the different flavors that I’s offers. However, I wish we could«adjust» the sweetness. I ordered a rose lychee smoothie. It was waaaayyyyy too sweet for me to even sip. I loved the tea flavor, but I just couldn’t handle it’s «abnormally extreme sweetness.» I may be acting kind of picky, but if they have perhaps asked something like«how would you like your tea to be sweetened?» I would have given 5 stars.

Recognizing that I’m somewhat of a bubble tea snob(because I used to work in a bubble tea store), the bubble tea was still sub par. Flavor overall was off and it generally just seemed like they forgot to add enough flavored powder. The second star was given only because the server was really friendly.

The is by far the best bubble tea I have ever had along with french macarons. They have so much variety and choices that you will want to try them all. Nothing like those boring flavor bubble tea place on the block. If you want the best bubble tea and bakery then this is the best place to go in New Brunswick hands down. Keep up the good work I’s Café and always look forward to my next drink!

My friends and I have been coming here for two years and we love it. We know the owner and always advertise her products on Instagram when we make our weekly after class bubble tea runs. Friendly place with great bubble tea and a crap ton of options. Located right on easton ave, you can get noodles across the street and then top it off with a sweet drink. Thumbs up!

Ahh I have Missed i’s since graduating Rutgers. I was feeling nostalgic and went to Rutger’s gardens and I’s for some boba. Same cute little shop with an extensive menu of delicious combos you don’t normally see. My go to drink is the rose lychee, very clean, light and not as icy. Since it was blazing hot out I wanted something really frozen so o went for the taro coconut. Yum!

So this will be the second year Im coming here. I’s Café is by far my favorite boba shop down Easton, not only is there bubble tea but there’s also sweets and ramen. I come at least once a week! The owner is UHMAZING. One time I told her I wanted something fruity buy nutty and she recommended this flavor called«cantaloupe almond». All of her recommendations are amazing! Every employee I’ve met there is also very nice ! And there’s FREEWIFI. It’s great when people recognize you and already know your order !!

Had a strawberry milk tea with green tea. It wasn’t bad but way to sweet. No taste of the green tea what so ever. Could’ve done better, so I’ll defiantly give it another try.

This is the second saddest bubble tea I’ve ever had. The worst one is right down the block. Birds of a feather? I don’t know if their bubbles are usually hard(some of them just broke apart when I attempted to chew them) or if they usually give you the stingiest serving possible(I could count the number of bubbles I had) or if I looked like someone who didn’t know what good bubble tea is, but this was both awful and pitiful. There was one table for sitting, which was occupied, so if you want to have a sip and a sit, you’re out of luck. The server didn’t even say hi, but that’s cool, why would I expect good customer service? The tea is good if that’s all you want. Everything else was disappointing.

A great place for bubble tea! Hey Iris(owner) i know you will read this so let me be completely honest. This place is a great place for bubble tea. It has great bubble tea. Let me start of this. I like bubble tea. At the time of this review, june 23rd, 2015, i only came here twice. and i came in for the first time with some high expectations. It was surprising satisfied. :D. i was a bit confused with the enormous menu. The owner/operator is a great lady named Iris C. :D. Really nice as if she really wanted to socialize. lol. i had did a bit of searching of reviews and info on this place. Iris originally wanted to be a teacher so i can see where the bubbly attitude and friendliness came from. I also confess she knows décor. its a sublime green with a nice touch of pink. lovely. Overall, i find this place great and welcoming. only downside is the street parking, which is a pain to get. plus the building is a bit hard to find since it looks like a house. in to. so yeah. good luck with that. my suggestion for improvement: make the sign BIGGER. i mean, something noticeable like a person in a passing car would easily catch like the mcdonalds sign. Cheers to you IRis for some good bubble tea.

If you are a bubble tea noob, dont come here. Every time I go here I never know what to get. I personally think simple is better with bubble tea. I’s Café has so many different flavors and mixes of flavors in their menu that it gets super overwhelming, especially for me who is indecisive. Their bubble tea is okay, but it really depends on what you order — some are too sweet for me. I am very particular about my bubble teas tasting like actual tea and not like sugar on sugar on sugar. In addition, I had issues on my last visit with customer service. I ordered a drink that was layered and the worker kept pushing my order back. People who came in 30 mins after me got their drinks before I did. The layered drink wasnt even good! I dont even like slushie bubble tea! My friend just told me to order it, and I didn’t feel like picking a drink off the menu because of incredible amount of different flavors!

I’d give this place 4 stars but took a star off for the credit card minimum. We went in and spent about $ 10. I was INCREDIBLY unsatisfied with my rose lychee smoothie(too sweet and has actual chunks of rose that are hard to chew in it) and went up to purchase another drink. No discount was offered, which was fine given that I was completely content with purchasing a new drink — but they refused to charge my card for less than $ 5. I thought this was a little ridiculous. Get rid of the credit card minimum.

I first tried I’s in 2006, and since then they’ve really expanded their menu to include desserts. They have such big variety of bubble teas, including hot /cold /iced. And they use great ingredients, less powdery, more natural. Overall, reminds of bubble tea shops similar to California Minus 1 star because their prices are inconsistent and kind of high.

I’ve been here many times over the course of the years. I find the staff extremely friendly. For example in May right before my final Iris(the owner) gave me a pumpkin spice bbt with a shot of coffee even though pumpkin spice is a seasonal drink. Also today I went there for some pre exam reviewing, Iris volunteered to turn down the music so that I could study in peace. Also the macaroons are excellent! They are freshly made however all flavors aren’t available everyday. A con is the quality of tapioca. Sometimes it is perfect while at other times it is too hard or too soft. It’s just luck on what you get.

Being a Taiwanese I am very particular about bubble tea. I used to live in NYC where bubble tea are right down the street ans never disappoints me. However, since I relocated to new brunswick getting a good cup of bubble tea became impossible until I found I’s café. A sidenote, I only buy it when the owner Iris is there. Iris made the tea perfect and she knows exactly what I mean when I said I hate it when the bubbles are overcooked or undercooked. The bubbles at nearby joints are always overcooked which defeat the purpose of having them in the tea. However, I did go three times on the day that iris was not there and the bubble are either too overcook and soft or the tea was way too sweet. If they can train everyone to make a perfect bubble tea then I would be back more often.

I really wanted to like this place. I tried their bubble tea, but it was — by far — the least enjoyable of all the bubble tea places I’ve visited in New Brunswick.(Super powdery! As another reviewer noted). However, when I found out they made their own macarons, I decided to give them another shot. The macarons were awful — ma granted, my other experiences with macarons were in NYC and Paris, but I know they shouldn’t taste stale. I figured maybe I had a bad batch, and returned later in the week to try them after they’d been freshly restocked — still subpar. This is the only bubble tea place in the area that I don’t frequent. Such a bummer — I’d have loved a good macaron/tea combo.
