Under new management/ownership…very disappointing service and food! The manager had a very abrupt and rude demeanor and didn’t appear to have much experience. We were very sad to see the former husband and wife co-owners move on — the husband was the former cook. We’ll miss them!

i used to love this diner, but after spending 2 solid hours waiting for a table and food that takes less than 5 minutes to cook, i won’t be going back again any time soon. my biggest issue is that i saw customers, who were sat after us, receive their food, eat, and pay before we ever saw our very simple order. i also watched 3 big to-go orders get ordered and walk out the door before we received our food. the owner and staff are friendly but diner food isn’t worth 2 hours of my day, nor the frustration of waiting.

This place has fine print at the bottom of the menu that tells you when you share a dish, that’ll be an extra $ 2. What? I’ve never seen this before anywhere, so I was kind of surprised– especially with portions so large! I ordered a burger and fries– can’t really go wrong with that. The burger was okay but the fries were mushy and limp, and my Coke was flat and really watery. The waitstaff were quite nice, and I didn’t wait long to get my food at all. Friends of mine have recommended it, but I definitely won’t go back. It was cramped, loud, and looking back, I would much rather have gone to Sonic. And don’t come with a group over three or four– there’s no room.

Great location right next door to Schlitterbaun. Unfortunately the service was very slow, made worse when the little ones just want to be in the water park. Food was OK at best, except for the buttermilk biscuit which was fantastic.

Second visit. Potato soup is white water. Chili is ketchup. Brought the entirely wrong meal. Argued about that. Honestly believed I had ordered a bowl of chili to go with my cup of chili.

Very dissatisfied! My family and I decided to stop here for breakfast never again! First and Last. The French toast were dry and thin. Lacking the taste of cinnamon and vanilla. The pancake taste like bisquick mix without the extra effort to make them a signature dish. Pancakes flat and dry. Overall it was«ok» just take the drive and visit magnolia haus!

What a cute intimate place to stop for breakfast. I had one of their 55 omelet choices that included avocados. It was great! Fluffy, light and not greasy-an important thing for an omelet. Also comes with a choice of options for sides including refried beans and a pancake! More food than one small woman could eat. But I’m okay leaving food on my plate. Staff was friendly and attentive in the crowded little space. Stop in and try it.

The other day my friend who was really busy at work asked me to bring her food, the only place«open» in walking distance was Union Street. I walked in at 2:04pm the placed had already closed at 2, the owner informed me of that, I told them oh sorry I didn’t realize, and I turned to walk out. He then stopped me and asked what I needed and I told him how I was grabbing food for a friend. He found something on the menu she could eat(she has dietary restrictions) and he didn’t even charge me for the full meal. I can’t emphasize enough how kind and accommodating the owners were. My friend loved the food she got and we will definitely be going back during business hours.

The wait for 2 people was short for a Saturday morning — place is typically packed and this time it was a lobby filled with larger parties. Tasty standard breakfast items, huge selection of omelettes if that’s your thing. Small space and busy, but our server was very attentive even though every table was occupied during our visit. We found this restaurant before relocating here and were just on vacation, and 4 years later the food and service is still very good.

Excellent atmosphere and friendly service. The restaurant is small so plan to wait on weekends. I arrived at 0830 on a Sunday and got right in but it filled up quickly. The biscuits are really good and obviously made fresh. My omelet was good but I am giving hem four stars because my hash browns were cold and under cooked. My GF went with the home fries I would suggest that over the hash Browns. Overall pleasant experience but not anything to go out of your way for.

Waited about 40 minutes in the freezing lobby for a table at 9:30. Finally sit down order. Cramped in our table for 2 but we’re a party of 3. Fine. Food arrives at 11. And it was wrong. Ate it anyway. It was tasty but wasn’t worth the fuss and the time wasted.

The biscuits and gravy was very good. The corned beef hash was okay, lacked flavor. But everything else was good.

Visited on Sunday, November 15th. Waited a few minutes for a table, ordered quickly and literally waited 45 – 50 minutes for our food. There was only two of us and our order was pretty basic, eggs, toast, sausauge, hash browns. In that amount of time I could have driven to HEB from my house, purchased everything I needed for breakfast, gone home and cooked it myself! To beat it all, my husband ordered home fries and they brought hash browns. 15 minutes later, still no hash browns. Food was nothing special, but if they could have gotten it to us in a reasonable amount of time we would have considered visiting again… We won’t be back.

This place is great! While visiting we(wife and I) ate at this restaurant twice. The food is phenomenal, and the prices even better. I recommend everyone in the area to at least try breakfast here.

I have been coming to this place for years, and have always been happy with the service, food, and experience. They are quick and always greeting customers with a smile. So happy to have this place in New Braunfels for a great go to. Breakfast or lunch, either way it is always delicious. I would definitely recommend to friends.

Nothing special just another breakfast place… The one thing about this place… You wait forever… For food for drinks and for your table… Plus there was one cook on Saturday morning…

Had high hopes to find a great local breakfast place. Reviews seemed great. 12:00pm. Place was busy and we had to wait about 30 min. No worries. Food took awhile. Another 20 min wait. They had a help wanted sign. Short some employees? When we got our food my pancakes… were cold. Not even like warm… Really? Then my wife’s order she wanted a side of eggs and bacon. Waitress forgot it. Wife reminded. Still never brought them out… But found time to make sure they were included in the bill. No worries… Right? Well… didn’t get the greatest response when I mentioned it when paying the check. No apology. But did take care and deleted it off. The décor and uniqueness of the building is great. Location is good. Parking is ok. Food was better than average but the cold pancakes and never making it right with bringing out food that was ordered. You get 2 stars.

Hands down probably my favorite place for brunch or breakfast in New Braunfels. There are limited tables so the wait can be anywhere from 20−45min. plan a head. However, the food is delicious(I have never ordered something I didn’t like) and the staff is even better. They definitely make you feel like you have been a long term customer. I’ve ordered omeletes a few times and even bit has fillings. They don’t take any shortcuts. Biscuits are to die for. If you are looking for a place, give it a shot!

The food is fantastic, the corned beef was cooked superb. Bisquits are light and fluffy, but the waitress leaves something to be desired. Seemed to tick her off that I only wanted water to drink, so she showed me who was boss, never came back to my table except to leave the check and snatch up my unused straw. She cheated with all the tables around me but not one word to me. All’s good the food was great & the cashier was a real sweetheart.

Been eating at this restaurant for 8+ years, good food, great wait staff. Loved it until this past Father’s day. Took father in law, had great meal, waitress good, she picked up our plates and we decided to visit and finish our coffee. That was until the greeter/sitter person decided to put 4 new menus and silverware on table in front of us. We immediately asked the waitress, her reply was«I’m sorry, I just work here — the owner(standing at the cash register staring at everyone, not a smile one) expects so many people per table per time period… Blah, blah I have never been so insulted at a restaurant. I am a local, I can understand having that mentality for tourists… But not someone who comes in there frequently. I will take my money and recommendation elsewhere… done with this place.

Visiting from out of town, this was one of the recommended places to eat! It’s a cute small railroad station building. We came here for lunch. Breakfast served all day! Staff was friendly. I ordered an omelette with zucchini, mushrooms, avocados, and cheese! It was soooo good! Had everything in an omelette that I love. Potato fries were ok. I barely touched it. English muffin was loaded with butter, hopefully it was«light.» ;) Unfortunately, there was some salsa on the table, but it looked like it was from the previous customer that was there… not too appetizing to touch. Nothing special, but definitely worth trying!

Yummy food and overly friendly service. This is my third visit in the past 2 years and the food is pretty good. They don’t overly season, some things are just plain. Kinda reminds me of a place that I could take my grandparents to for the reason that it would be ideal for someone who’s watching their salt/sugar intake. The portions are huge and 2 – 3 people can share one lunch plate. The woman whom I encounter at the drive-thru window is always a delight! Some turn-offs: They charge you 50 cents for all credit and debit uses. The mashed potatoes are the instant Idahoan potatoes… bleh! The parking is incredibly cramped and those waiting in the drive-thru line fear for their cars lives when people are pulling out of nearby spaces. I would recommend getting off your car and picking up your orders. Their salad dressings are store bought and not homemade.
