Slow horrible service, bland tasteless food there were potatoes in my taco meat yuck we had to wait about 30 minutes just for our queso to show up and it was not hot temperature wise it was lukewarm we had to ask for silverware and napkins the hot sauce was blah blah and tasted like flavored tomato sauce I do not recommend this place at all save your money and go to Taco Bell

I love Las Palapas! It’s just nice Mexican food. Not fancy. It’s like your family home kitchen food. The employees are fantastic. They are very nice, personal & helpful. Part of the Las Palapas charm is thru treat everyone like family. Love the warmth they give to everyone!

Good chips — good iced tea — but slow server. A table seated after us got their food already. We were about 30 seconds from walking out. I sort of wish we had now. I got Vegetable Enchiladas and an East LA Taco. Wife ordered chicken fajita nachos and got beef — but we don’t have time to reorder. Overall we were hoping to find a new«go to» Mexican place but based on this experience this probably won’t be it…

Excellent food, service and margaritas. Friendly staff that greets you properly. Chips and salsa are fantastic. Margaritas are of good strength. Bathrooms are clean. We frequent this place because of the quality of service and food.

Come here for breakfast tacos! We came several times to dine in and the food is fine but the service is iffy. Drinks were strong so maybe that is a good thing. I forgot they offered drive thru service! Take advantage of it! We have had their breakfast tacos many times and we LOVE them. Go tos are barbacoa(not very greasy), bean and cheese and even the potato and egg are fab. My daughter loves their bacon and egg because they use while slices of egg. Their tortillas are very good and very fresh.

Hopefully you are never in Dayne’s section(or however you spell her name). She is old, impatient, and rude. At the end of one of my times eating there she literally threw my friend’s change at them. I will not go to a place where I spend money to be mistreated.

Love the cheese enchiladas here! The carne guisada is my fav anywhere. Very good flour tortillas & lemonade.

This place has the worst Mexican food and service. We went through the drive thru this time and of course — the order was incomplete. I should have checked before I left but when I got home I did not get everything I was charged for. I called to complain and was told the manager would call back but that did not happen. Spend your money elsewhere. There are restaurants in New Braunfels with better food and customer service.

Came in at 1 pm after the lunch crowd. Food came out fast and was enjoyable. Not bad. Service was good and attentive.

Worst service. Waitress took order and didn’t return except to bring check. Food service person(aka bartender) brought half if our order after 20 minutes. Had to ask for chips & queso, water and drinks. Finally got drinks after 25 minutes. Food was okay but didn’t make up for lack of efficient service Good thing we weren’t mystery diners from corporate or manager would be out of a job!

All the food was bland. Eggs were over cooked. Refried beans had no flavor, the potatoes had zero seasoning. Must say I will not go back.

Just made my last trip to Las Palapas New Braunfels for at least a year. I only drive through and always order the same thing. I’ve been doing the same order at Las Palapas since 1983 or so at the now«Ruthies» store. Las Palapas Special Plate with Beef Fajitas, mild salsa, 2 extra tortillas, Large drink. Six times… six times with NO extra tortillas and the third or fourth time with NO salsa. This time… NOFAJITAMEAT. The Bimbos they have up front are totally worthless. They check NOTHING. They don’t even smile. Whatever you are paying them… it is too much. The garnish was less than half a teaspoon of lettuce and one… yes one… small piece of diced tomato. The rice and beans were about ½ portions. I’ve only been in the dining room once. Looks great. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast with only two other tables in the place. My omelet was more cheese than egg. Love the LP food… I’ll try it again in a year if you’re still there. Thought this would be the best Mexican food in NB… FAIL!!!

I’m a big fan of the Las Palapas restaurant chain, the quality and service has always been great. I was really excited when I found out they were building one in New Braunfels, and finally got to try it on Saturday, August 16th around 1:00 P.M. Although it was busy, we were quickly seated and given chips and salsa. Our waitress took a long time to come by initially and take our drink order. Water came out quickly as asked for, but the bottle beer took about 15 mins to arrive(right about the time we were getting ready to cancel them, too). The waitress was obviously new because every time we ordered something, she would ask a question which didn’t go with what we trying to order(«did I want beef or chicken enchiladas?» when the menu said they were cheese enchiladas, for example), which resulted in us having to point to the menu to make sure she knew what we were talking about. Made us nervous because she didn’t write anything down Ordered a half-order of the Super Nachos, which were really only bean-cheese nachos with a bit of sour cream and avacado and alot of jalapenos. I ordered the enchiladas con crema, which was supposed to be a cilantro cream topping over enchiladas — they are awesome at the location at the Forum in San Antonio– here it was pure straight up milk cream with no hint of the cilantro at all… A puffy taco was ordered, but came out so soggy that it fell apart the minute my companion picked it up. A fish taco also ordered was severely over fried and was just plain bad. Just because it is frozen fish they could still use some care when they cook this… Seemed to take longer than normal to pay our bill, have to pay at the table and our waitress. With so many good Mexican restaurants in NB I doubt we will ever come back here

There are several of these restaurants in San Antonio, but my first time trying a breakfast taco here in New Braunfels. Drive through is fast. I got two country egg tacos, which had generous portions of country sausage, which was grilled with a ranchero sauce. The eggs were fully yellow. I hate when some places dilute their eggs with water or milk. The ranchero sauce was killer and was caramelized well on that grill to the point of being dark, smoky, and rich. Their house salsa is very thin, tomatoey(sic), and not hot at all but good. The tortillas are homemade but very thin – too thin to hold all that overstuffed deliciousness. I will try some barbacoa next or maybe some tamales with that ranchero sauce. But my first impression of this place is it will make the American palate happy. It lacks that stink factor, which makes the Spur St. Taquerias so good. I still go to Nopalitos for tamales and Seguin for barbacoa.
