I’ve had nothing but problems with this location. I’ve asked repeatedly that they not use an impact wrench on the bolts for my skid plate(plastic shield to protect your oil pan); I’ve asked repeatedly that they not use an impact wrench on my oil pan nut as I change my oil myself most of the time and trying to loosen a nut with a socket wrench that’s been torqued using an impact wrench rarely works. These kids don’t listen. They don’t care. They make, I’m guessing, minimum wage and seem to perceive you as someone who is making them perform work. I promised myself the last time around that I would never revisit this place. Caught in a bind last week and seeing they had no waiting line, I pulled in and gave them another chance, only to let myself down. This location had previously been a Pennzoil where you pulled up, got out of your car, and waited in the lobby for an oil change. Since it has become a Valvoline, they now have you sit in your car throughout the change while the salesman at the cash register is right at your window pitching all sorts of overpriced products and services to you. Even though you ask for a basic oil change, they walk you through their«Safety Check» where they check the operation of your headlights, taillights, blinkers, etc. as a way to go above and beyond in service. They then open your air filter compartment and any other easy-to-reach component to show you that you need a new this or that. Maybe some customers appreciate that, but I really just need exactly what I asked for in the first place; a basic oil change. After they changed my oil(took about 15 minutes), I pulled onto the Interstate headed to work which was about 6 or 7miles away. On the Interstate, I began to hear rattling under my hood. I waited until I got to work to check what was making the noise. It ended up being the metal crossbar and the two bolts that hold the bar into place over top of my air filter case. Granted, the operation of the engine does not require anything from this crossbar. However, had I hit a bump and that bar or the bolts jumped into my running engine, it could have caused serious damage. Luckily it didn’t. But who’s knows, next time they might forget to tighten a belt or insert a new air filter before placing the cover back on the case. And to Valvoline, you’re a lube joint. Just perform the oil change and leave us be. Or at least ask your sales force not to put so much effort in selling us on your products. Most of us just pull away annoyed that we have to sit through what feels like a timeshare seminar.
