Excellent authentic Italian. The garlic knots were hot and fresh, the La Boca pizza was delicious and the eggplant parmigiana was fantastic. It tasted a lot like the eggplant I grew up with that my Italian grandma makes. Definitely going back soon to try more on their menu! If you are not a fan of real Italian flavors(heavy garlic, basil, oregano) then stick to the chain Italian restaurant. Otherwise, if you want authentic, real, Italian then check this place out!

Great little place! This is the kind of spot more of us should patronize. The food here is real. Real fresh, real ingredients, real good. Very fine authentic pizza — we had the white pizza and it was huge and incredible! The garlic knots were hot and fresh and mega-garlicky! Delicious! The rice ball was unique — not something I’ve had before. The sausage & pepper roll was, again, hot and fresh and redolent of anise and other savory spices. We took plenty home for lunch tomorrow — a bargain indeed. Yes, you’ll pay more here than at a chain, but you DO get what you pay for. Here we got fresh food, friendly service and a local feel. Come try it.

Mimo’s is by far one of the pizza restaurants I have ever been to! All the pizza were delicious, we had a big selection because we had a function there. The pasta was awesome, and the tomato sauce was unbelievable. Every time I am in the area, I am absolutely going to Mimo’s!!!

This place is grossly overpriced. A single cannoli costs $ 5 and is so not worth it and the ham on my Italian sub was the kind that you can get for a dollar at Kroger. Also, the bread was awful. The calamari is bland. The bruschetta was soggy, but at least it tasted good.

I’ve wanted to love this place for a long time. I’ve even given them four chances but the product just doesn’t seem to deliver. The prices have gone up recently and its unmerited. I had the Lobster Ravioli for $ 17.99. The meal contained only four meager looking raviolis. I will admit that while I did enjoy the ravioli they were not nearly worth the price and it left me unsatisfied. Their pizza is good but again not worth the price. My boyfriend and I had no problem eating and eventually finishing their speciality white pizza. It was just underwhelming. I ordered an appetizer of fries. Once I heard about the price increase I asked the young man who was taking my order over the phone if the fries were worth $ 7. He could only answer that you get«a lot». If they had more reasonable prices I would definitely give this place 4 stars. Their food is pretty great. I just can’t give anymore stars due to their prices and ambience.

We drive past Mimo’s practically everyday and decided to finally give this place a try. The atmosphere was surprisingly more upscale than expected for a pizzeria. I adore mom and pop businesses and wanted this place to be a four or five star review. We ordered two pizzas to go. The owners were at the counter and also prepared our pizzas. They were very pleasant and upbeat even though it was near 9pm. Mr. J and I took the pizzas home to share with family. Everyone was starving and they were pretty much devoured except for a couple of pieces. No one really raved that it was great pizza but it wasn’t bad either. It’s New York style… maybe it would have been better if we would have eaten it at the restaurant instead of waiting 10 mins because of drive time to get home. We will try again in the future to see if our experience changes… ~Mrs. J

New to this area so I wanted to try this place because it is very convenient. The pizza was excellent. Had the Mimos special. It was a little pricey at about 21.00 but I was only able to eat two pieces per meal so it lasted me a couple days… service was ok. A small place like this with lots of competition should be bending over backwards to provide better service though which is why I gave it a 4 star not a 5. Once again the service was just average but I will probably go back as there are other things on the menu that I would like to try.

Showed up in the middle of a rainstorm, but that didn’t keep the crowds away. Unfortunately, it apparently did keep doe of the wait staff from showing up. There was only one waitress and while she did her best, service was a bit slow. We ordered two specialty pizzas — the Caprese, and Buffalo Chicken. The Caprese was simple yet delicious. It reminded me of pizzas we had on our visit to Rome last year. I can’t speak for the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, but our thirteen year old son gave it two thumbs up. Pizzas were a bit pricey, but worth it for their authentic flavor and delicious New York style crust. The owner is from Rome and definitely brought good Roman cooking skills with him to New Albany. Just don’t go here if you are in a rush.

A co-worker suggested I give Mimo’s a try so why not. Not a very big place. I’d say might hold 20 customers if that much. I tried their calzone. They are pre-made and he just put them in the oven to warm them. It was OK nothing to write home about(just Unilocal it). FYI this is not safe for tree nut patrons. They use pine nuts in their pesto.

Very pleasantly surprised by this little place! The bread they brought out before the meal was some of the best bread I have ever had. It melts in your mouth. The meatball calzone was equally good, and everything seemed very fresh. These people are actually from Italy and speak Italian, which seems to be very rare at Italian restaurants around here. Very friendly people. Highly recommend this place :-)

If you want New York Style Pizza, look no further! This place serves great food, but it seems they are almost never busy. I worry that they will be able to stay open! Great place for a large group gathering!

My recent visit to Mimo’s this past weekend is now my last. I had dinner with my family and the atmosphere was nice but food was horrible. We had the Garlic Knots. Which was cold pieces of bread with diced garlic and covered in olive oil(which was absolutely horrible). About 25min later out pizza arrived. We what I would call, the supreme. Generous amounts of toppings, it would seem my family of four would be greatly satisfied. Although it looked delicious, the pizza was cold and greasy. Our waitress apologized and was sweet, but the owner who was there was VERY rude and had a «too bad deal with it» attitude. Took the owner 30min to cash us out and it was a very horrible experience. Will never go back.

Came here not knowing what to expect and was blown away by the pizza! I am looking forward coming back. Find out my kids are very spoiled on bad pizza(aka PZ, PJAND so forth).

I never thought I would do a follow up review so soon for any restaurant but this has to be said. This weekend we didn’t have time to go out to dinner so I picked up a pizza called the Chicken Francese which happened to fall under the category of «special pies» on the menu. This was hands down the best pizza that I’ve had in many years. I loved the taste of this pie. It has a slight hint of lemon chicken on a thin crust with some very good tasting capers and a white sauce that just made this pizza. This came off like a cross between an Italian dish and pizza that had been combined. Papa John’s this isn’t and I’m glad for it. A tip of the hat to the cooking staff. In the future its going to be difficult to try any of the other pizzas or special pies only because this was so good.

Best New York pizza ’round these parts. I haven’t been here for dine –in, only carry out, but the pizza is what it’s all about. Nothing else Indiana-side comes close to the taste of New York style pizza. Thin cheesy goodness with a great natural tomato sauce.(I love me some Pepp + Feta — these toppings are very complimentary. =])

My party & I arrived around 530P. The restaurant was small and quant, it was tastefully decorated. We were warmly greeted by the owners & a server. We were the only guests in the building. The menu priced range varied from $ 6-$ 25 for entrees & had a nice variety to chose from. We sat in the bar area. The AC did not feel like it was on. Our entrees were delicious, our service was great– our server was engaging, pleasant & she didn’t mess up our order. I just wish the AC had been on.

I really hate to write bad reviews but sometimes it happens. When we arrived around dinner time there was only one other group there with us and service then was a bit slow, needless to say, by the end of our visit when there were four groups, our service didn’t get much better. I’ve had NY style pizza before when in NYC and I have to say this tasted nothing like I remember NY style pizza tasting. I can’t put my finger on what I didn’t like other than it tasting pretty bland for the amount of toppings we had on the pizza(various meats and veggies). Quite honestly, I would’ve preferred a chain pizza delivery over this place. :-\

I decided to revisit Mimo’s today before the dinner rush hit, to give them a second chance, and it turns out that their food is delicious. When we arrived at 3 pm the restaurant was completely empty and remained that way throughout our meal which lasted about 45 minutes. The dining room is small and homey feeling with the signatures of previous patrons covering the walls like graffiti. One end of the room is filled with a take-out counter and pizza oven. The owner brought us garlic knots hot out of the oven and covered in diced fresh garlic. They were really delicious and unique. I tried the chicken calzone and my boyfriend ordered a hero. We both enjoyed our meals and noted that they felt rustic and homemade. I particularly enjoyed the ricotta cheese in my calzone. They had a sign in the restaurant saying that they deliver. I definitely plan to try their delivery in the near future and I want to go back and try the Sicilian rice balls.
