Chris G. and Nickie G. threw what was hands down my favorite event while in Nashville! Prior to going to this event, I hadn’t met any Unilocalers during YSB but I left with a handful of new Unilocalie buddies! Chris, Nickie & Marti did such a great job getting everyone to turn up for this event but not only that — they did a great job making the rounds! They talked to everyone and were quick to introduce people who didn’t know each other. It was a great social event and bar hopping on Broadway is one of those ‘must do once’ type of activities in Nashville. We all met up at Robert’s Western World for a rippin’ good time! The upper tier of Robert’s was literally packed with Unilocalers. We did some gabbing, did some drinking and then hopped on! On to Tootsie’s we went which was packed to the max. I’m talking packed like sardines and trying to push your way around from one side to the other. We hung out there for awhile and decided to soldier on! We stopped at a few quick places looking for our next venue but ended up at The Wheel. The Wheel was awesome because we all had space to move, were able to talk a bit while hearing the music and have some beer. Perfect night! Thank you SO much Chris G. & Nickie G.(with help from Marti M.) for organizing such a fun event!!!

For me, 1 of the best things about Unilocal is getting to know what the locals know. By reading real reviews by real locals, you can get to know what the locals know. What’s even better than that is being Elite, meeting real locals through Unilocal & having them share what they know, in person. That’s what the YSB — UYE — Gs Up, Hoes Down-Town — Nashville Pub and Bar Crawl was all about. 1st off, I gotta give a huge thanks to Chris G. & Nickie G. for this UYE. They are definitely the G’s in this town & really know how to navigate Nashville on a Friday night. Nashville at night, down on Broadway, is 1 Helluva hard-partying town! Sure, there are other towns with hard-partying reputations, but we were rolling through places with strong drinks, multiple floors of asskickin’ live music & dancing… & no cover(what!!! for real, no cover). Oh yeah, we were all gettin’ our drank on & our swerve on. Somewhere after the 3rd stop, however, a small group of us got separated from the G’s & we made our own way. That’s when things went from fun to silly to downright bizarre. All I’m gonna say is, man, you gotta watch out for those Phoenix Elites. They are Kray Kray. & then, there was that guy running around with a little naked transvestite blowup doll complete with blowup erection. WTF!!! I finally got back to my room & crashed around 5:00 in the morning. While it all didn’t go according to the original plan, there was no denying after this UYE that Nashville at night is 1 Helluva hard-partying town!

I must say that the Nashville Unilocal Elite folks know how to have a good time! Chris G. and Mike G. led a self-described«honky tonk bar hop» that meandered starting from the world famous Robert’s Western World, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, and down Broadway’s expansive bar scene. This event was a lot of fun and I got a chance to hangout with some of the familiar faces that I had met and got to meet a few more new ones as well. All I can say is that Nashville knows how to party and I honestly could not hang pass 1:30 a.m. after spending the earlier part of the day at Third Man Records and on a five hour Brew Bus tour of Nashville! The highlight of this UYE was getting to check out the newly added 2nd and 3rd floor of Tootsie’s(which still looks like it’s under construction and has some shaky floors) thanks to Mike G. The view of downtown Nashville and Broadway street was pretty breathtaking from the rooftop balcony of the newly added level of the bar. Overall, I enjoyed exploring, mingling, and drinking with my fellow Unilocal folks and the locals in some of the coolest and divey places in Downtown Nashville!

Thank goodness for the dynamic duo G’s for showing us out-of-towners how to honky tonk. I love how there’s no cover in Nashville pubs or bars, and we move onto the next act. We’d be stuck in SF if the music or band sucked, in addition to hefty parking fees. I can’t get the darn«Wagon Wheel» song outta my head, it kept following me all the way to the airport Tootsies. All the bands and vocalists are so talented in Nashville, even street performers strumming a guitar sounded like Kenny Chesney or Tim McGraw. It’s amazing the volume of people who flock to this amazing city from other parts just to make it big. Unilocal-tastic time with Unilocal-awesome Yeeps in the heart of Music City, USA!

This was so much fun. After an … interesting ride with Victoria and crew(we fit 6 of us in her car … I was sitting on my friend’s lap …), we showed up at Robert’s Western World and found our Yeeps on the 2nd floor. Shoutout to Nickie G. for buying us drinks! I had a Kahlua/Bailey’s which was great. From here we continued on to Tootsie’s, which had two different musical acts going on. We were on the 2nd/3rd floor and the band was great. The place was rockin’ but unfortunately we had Segway at 9am the next day, so we left around midnight and didn’t do the 3rd stop on the tour. Fun places to meet some new Yeeps and hang out!

Yeeeee-Hawwwww! Now THAT’s the Nashville I’M Talkin About! SITREP Woooo-eeeeee! My hats off to Nashville Star Elites CHRIS G. and NICKIE G.(No Relation) for *shit*-kickin it into high gear and showin us city slickers(well, actually OTHER cities) on how to have a great time in Music City! THESETUP Chris & Nickie — with a VERY able assist from another Nashville Star Elite, the mighty Ms. Marti M. — had us start out at Robert’s on Broadway. Wooo. What a stop. And what a crowd. On the first floor was a RAGIN’ Honky-Tonk concert goin on! And I almost felt bad immediately since we were making a beeline for the 2nd floor. FAMILIARFACES! But while moving through the first floor, we ran into Nicole and Tom Morales from the Acme Warehouse company and several of their peeps we met at the Hard Hats YEE earlier in the day. Tom give me a quick slap on the shoulder, and a did a quick swing dance with Ms. Nicole, and then it was on to the 2nd Floor. ROBERT’S BAR The brews were cool and refreshing and the conversations were intimate, wild and/or fun. We waited to make sure all of our yeeps got inside. [John almost didn’t get in since he was still wearing the hardhat from earlier in the day that ACME gave him! But we got in!] TOOTSIES When after an hour or so everyone was corralled that was coming out, we mosied through the BACK doors into the alley, and then headed down a couple of doors to Tootsies to THEIR back door where our awesome Nashville hosts — Chris, Nickie and Marti — worked their magic and got us in. There was some great Countrified Rock, and Honky-Tonk going on at the 3rd level(we climbed the stairs) and that’s where we stayed to drink, dance and have a great time. Honestly? I can’t remember(the name) of the stop after Tootsie. Gonna have to insert it later! But it made for some great chill time until the wee hours. Oh wait! Marti M. just«complimented» me with the name…*edits review*… THEWHEEL! At first more of a quieter vibe, even though there was a Honky-Tonk vibe! I got to spin Ms. Marti M. on the floor for a fun dance, and BOY, I could dip the lil lady back far! It was a fun stop for some brews and quiet conversation on the back patio as well. KUDOS A HUGE Rebel Yell to CHRIS G. and NICKIE G.(No Relation) for such an outstanding night in Nashville! It really has made the trip. [But the trip isn’t over yet! There’s still tonight in Midtown and Karaōke tomorrow! So we shall see how it goes!] THELOWDOWN Awesome Night in Music City has been had! *Scratches it off his bucket list*
