VinnyLinks Golf Course

This is a wonderful course to learn on. They take great care of their greens and the staff are all really friendly. Also, it is rarely busy and it is the cheapest in town! Totally worth the $ 7.00!

I love the Vinny Links. Cheap and not really busy. Great if you’re learning or if you suck. It’s basically down the street from my house and has a driving range and great putting/​chipping green. The green surfaces are great except maybe on 2 holes. I usually tee off with a pitching wedge or short iron. You can use a driver on the first hole if you dare. One time the greenskeepers hit me with the sprinkler right as I tee’d off on the 7^th but I’ll chalk it up as an honest mistake. Kind of think they were screwing with me though.

I’m a new and fantastically bad golfer. However, I love/​hate the game A LOT!!! The Vinny has been a great place to get my feet wet in the golfing world without being intimidated by 500 yd holes, really skilled golfers, or the expense of looking like I belong on the golf course.
The Vinny is a links course so everything is a par three with the exception of the first whole which is a par 4. There aren’t any dog legs, water hazards, etc… to lose your ball in. It’s perfect for beginners, kids are welcome, and being that it’s situated near the river with lots of mature trees, in it’s midst, it’s still manages to be pretty. A round of 9 holes is like $ 6 and kids are even less. The 7^th hole is my favorite because you hit off a ginormous hill and if you get a piece of it, it really looks impressive!
My only complaint is that the course attracts some newcomers that don’t have the intelligence to recognize you don’t need to bring your driver out at all. At times, you are a sitting duck for an errant shot t shot hit with something clearly not an iron. I mean who gets their driver out on a 100yd hole? You would be surprised. I have to admit, I have come close to having some sidways moments and sent their balls sailing back with my PITCHING WEDGE!!!
