This place was ok– and it fit the bill when I was 9 months Preggo and starving and just trying to grab a quick bite in between errands. The service was fair enough I guess, and the wait in line wasn’t too bad– great being that is was lunch hour downtown on a weekday. I had the steak burrito. Nothing to write home about. It was ok and it was filling. The steak was overlooked– to be expected– but they did have a good number of toppings to choose from. Great selection of salsa’s too– I’m a salsa freak. Good when you want a quick Mexican dish fix downtown. And– you can’t beat the price, it was really reasonable.

Love this place! Super fast service. The chicken burrito is one of the best in town. Great nachos as well. Best thing about this place is the portion size. They load up the burritos and nachos. Also, good chips and queso, and salsa bar.

I usually skip the burritos, which are fine but usually too much food to eat in one sitting, and I order a couple of soft tacos on corn tortillas. The brisket, chicken, and chorizo sausage are all particularly good. Chips and salsa are usually fresh and tasty and the iced tea is fresh brewed. The service is iffy but it is not a tableservice kind of place so it doesn’t really matter. The line moves quickly. I think their business has slowed down somewhat since some other taco places opened downtown. This one is still my favorite amongst the bunch.

Okay, I work at the Bat Building downtown and I get tired of the same old foods… so every now and then I like to go to new places and try them out. well, I have walked by this place a million times over the past 4yrs and HECKFIRE. I have never noticed this in the before. I know I am old but am I blind now too??? Anyway, I went in today and I was pleasantly surprised. Larger inside than I thought. I got my order to go. I ordered a chicken burrito with all the veggies and beans and rice inside the burrito also, it was really stuffed full. I love guac. so I asked for extra on the side I love that stuff. I also got some chips to go and went over to a salsa bar where there was like five different types to choose from so, I got a little container of each, and a couple containers of some I thought I would really like. I am a salsa NUT. I love salsa… is that weird? BYW, I also make a mean hot salsa myself homemade, but I still like to try salsa when I am out. I got back to the office and ummmm it smelled so good. Everyone was like, heck Melissa whatcha eating over there… everyone loved the aroma from my mexicali meal… it was really good. I just wish the salsa containers were larger, but they were all good salsa. I liked them all. The chips could have been a little more salty but hey that is my taste buds. the food was good. I will definitely go back here again. And AGAIN… prices not bad either !!!

Best Mexican in Nashville I’ve had so far !! You get what you pay for its fast and filling! Way better then Nashville street tacos or el rays, or San Antonio’s tacos! Don’t waste your time else where this is the spot to be!

Fast and friendly staff, but the food is just decent. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t special.

If you want some authentic Mexican good eats, this is the place. The staff was friendly and efficient and fast, a little too fast actually. Felt rushed. Ordered a quesadilla with chicken and sour cream with chips. Omg soo yummy! The chips taste homemade not processed an loved how cheesy the quesadilla was! Def would come back!

Nachos were delicious! I was surprised at how expensive it was, though. I just wanted lunch but I spent like half my paycheck! So many things were extra and it just snuck up on me!

Much like the fast food joints, the burrito joints around town now seem to be a dime a dozen. Like one of my friends said, if you are hungry and don’t have much money, go to one of the burger chains with the 99 cent menu and order a few things and a water. Well, if you’re hungry and have a few dollars more, you might like Chile Burrito about as much as you would like those other burrito places that seem to be everywhere, not on every corner like Walgreen’s but getting close. Here, its par for the course, some meet, some cheese, some beans, a whole lot of other stuff to throw in there and add some chips and a soda and you won’t be hungry again for a few hours. The folks working there are efficient enough and friendly enough. The place was clean. Nothing to write home about, but ok.

Pretty delicious burritos, definitely the best to go to in the area.

Great consistent food. …they get so busy sometimes that they over charge by accident. So make sure to check ur bill. Other than that, they are great.

Love this place. It helps that it’s only a block from my office and therefore perfect for weekday lunches, but then again they’re only open for weekday lunches, so I guess it’s kismet. The managers/owners have been very supportive and clear about letting me know the beans, rice, and guac are all vegan, so this is an ideal place for a vegan-friendly burrito, bowl, or salad. And speaking of salads, that’s what I eat when I’m eating raw, and there are plenty of veggies to add(along with guacamole, of course!) to make it a substantial meal. Their guacamole, by the way, is different from most others in town: it’s heavy on cilantro and lime, I think, and that gives it a really refreshing flavor. I’m a fan, but if you don’t like cilantro and lime all that much… well, what are you doing eating at a Mexican place anyway? My only complaint is that I wish they were open for dinner and on the weekends, since I sometimes work late enough to want to grab dinner nearby, and I live near enough that this would be a great weekend option.

Down in the bowl… where I werk… there’s a cabillion-famillion really average places to get a styro-yuck for nearly ten-buck…but Chile Burrito is a dang good option downtown for gettin’ fresh food and nice people who make it in front of you for a price you can neeeerly dictate. If you wanna get by on the cheap and still get freshed up, you can get a small veg-head black beano burrito with fresh ingreedayents fer less than 5… I reckon. I like to get in that 7 to 8 range and eat GOOD with smoked, pulled pork nachos or a burrito. These people are really nice and they do it up fresh. If you are thrifty, you can share a full lunch for jes-less than ten, considering you have one friend in this crummy werld who will share with you… NOYOUDON’T HAVETOFEEDEACHOTHEROFFTHESAMEPLASTIKFORK! Sheesh. Anyway, it ain’t real Mex, but it’s fresh Southwest… facing south… yup.

I had a Chorizo bowl and cannot say that I was too impressed. The Chorizo was cooked fresh for my order, but it didn’t look like a very appetizing piece of sausage to begin with. Behind the counter was quite a mess, and the topping ingredient area was littered with bits of each topping in another topping’s container. Those with any kind of food allergies might want to beware. The taste was acceptable, but the quantity of food in the bowl for the total price after the«additional» guacamole and sour cream was added was not that great. If you want some really quick and tolerable eats in the area and don’t want to walk all the way for BBQ, this place will do the trick. I’ll probably go again in a pinch, as I stay at the Courtyard next door quite often.

What is it with these Burrito places putting together burritos with no discernible flavor? I go in, order a Carne Asada medium burrito, and almost nothing. It was spicy, since I got the hot sauce on it, but the marinade on the meat was nothing, the meat itself was nothing, the cheese was nothing. How is it that Chipotle can do it so well, and almost everyone else is so freaking bland?

Not a bad burrito joint. Probably the best bet for a burrito in downtown, but there are better spots in town. I prefer Nuevo Burrito in East Nashville or Blue Coast.

Delicious and wonderful. One burrito will fill you up, but get the chips so you can get a few cups of salsa.

Quick, fresh ingredients. Healthy menu options. I was impressed for such a speedy lunch in-and-out place! Go for the fish taco deal on Tuesdays.

A-OK is OKAY! Went here with co-workers for lunch today. I was happy to see that in my burrito bowl that they automatically put seasoned rice and black beans. Yaya for good health. Tuesday was fish taco day. Our lunch guest had them, and I have to say they looked delicious. I was very unhappy with myself for not eating those. And, unlike the fish tacos of the West, they are made with catfish here. Ha, go figure. Darn I missed an opportunity. I had the burrito bowl with beef brisket. I know — beef brisket in a Mexican bowl — well, its not Mexico after all. As much as I love brisket, this must have been smoked and cook in the same oven as pork. My gut feeling(for real, a tummy rumbler) says so. See, I don’t eat pork(health reasons), so, I can tell when something is a little porky(like fishy but pork, ah nevermind). And, it taskted more salty than usual. They give you a ton of toppings to choose from. Think Chipotle but with a mid-southern REAL Mexican twist. And, you can head over to the salsa bar and add your own red/green hot/mild sauce or grab you a lemon/lime to squeeze. Overall, def a good lunch spot if you are in the downtown area. OYE!

I am salivating just thinking about this place. They have, hands down, the best steak salad I have ever had(well, you order the salad and then you pick all your fixin’s) I love their chipotle ranch dressing, I love the tortilla strips on top of the salad, I love how their steak tastes, I love their black beans, I love the cucumber, omg, I love it all… Like Joe’s comment on their nachos, I always walk away stuffed. For a less ravenous person than me, a salad could probably go for two meals. Just be prepared for a line out the door if you go exactly at lunchtime. Plus you may or may not be able to find a seat so be prepared to take it to-go. The only downside to this place is that it’s only open on weekdays! Booooo…

I have been eating at The Chile Burrito since it opened and I worked just across the street at the L&C tower downtown. Since then I’ve moved on and I now work down at the Nashville City Center off of Union. Anyways, I still make the walk to Chile Burrito because of two reasons: Fish Tacos and the Nachos. The portions are nearly at insane levels for the nachos, so don’t eat lunch there and expect to have anything for dinner. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the fish tacos. They are simply amazing. They take great care to make it well — the ingredients are all very fresh and well worth the cost. For a fast-food Mexican place, it really is hard to beat. One thing to watch out for is the lady working the register isn’t always the happiest person in the world. The owner is almost always there, which is nice — but that woman behind the register usually sours the experience for me a little. Anyways, if you can get past her — this is an excellent place to eat for lunch.
