So I still love this place. Just wanted to update on the food. The first thing I had was the grilled cheese & it was pretty good but nothing too memorable. Well now I’ve had the sweet potato poutine & the fish tacos. AMAZING! Not really poutine but I don’t care. So good. My friend also said best burger in Nashville. Better than Pharmacy. Which whoa, I’m trying it next. Or maybe the sandwich with the ham. Decisions, decisions. Plus, they have new games. Love the darts and giant connect 4.

My wife and I stop here everytime we visit Nashville. The space is very cool and the beers are solid and well-priced. My wife’s favorite is the Southern Wit, which is a nice take on a wheat beer. They also had 2 rye beers on tap, and ryes are a special favorite of mine. During our visit in June of 2014, we got to sit on the deck(there are two, and upper and lower) and enjoy the weather and the beer. There happened to be a music and food festival that day, and siting outside enjoying the weather and music was awesome. This is a very cool place, and we’ll make sure we’re back in the future.

Awesome range of tasty beers. Each distinct, unique and very drinkable. the burger was world class; juicy, tasty and with really good chips on the side. Courtney tending bar upstairs was delightful. Really knowledgeable about their beers and helped match everyone coming up to the bar with the right selection. This is a «must» for Nashville microbrew tours.

My experience at Tennessee Brew Works was not inviting. When I asked the bartender/clerk about available beverages, he responded in a curt manner. He left us and went to visit with another customer and did not return. Eventually a female tender came to us. To my surprise, she was as equally unfriendly. This establishment lacked the warm welcoming atmosphere typically found in Nashville. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this business.

We had the best time at Tennessee Brew Works yesterday! We were visiting from Minnesota and greeted warmly by the staff and got some amazing beer right away. We played a fun round of Taboo while surprisingly listening to some of our favorite tunes(Minnesota’s Trampled by Turtles, coincidentally, and Devil Makes Three!). Mine and my other half’s favorite selection was the King’s Wit. So good. Was also happy to see that it was on tap at Peg Leg Porker down the street later on when we went to get BBQ for dinner! P.S: The soap in the women’s room smells so good. Please never change it.

The beer — I had the sweet potato stout — was pretty solid. I’d definitely drink again. The music was enjoyable, folksy, not overbearing, pleasant. Tight seating indoors, but ample outdoors. Food was… okay. had the sweet potato poutine, grilled cheese and BBQ nachos. Poutine was the best, but wasn’t actually poutine at all. Grilled cheese was decent, but not very cheesy. The BBQ nachos were disappointing… loaded with cream and sprouts, with only a hint of BBQ flavor.

Best Brewery in Nashville. Haven’t had a beer from here that I didn’t like. My favorites are the Cutaway IPA and Southern Wit. Haven’t tried out there food yet, but I heard it’s awesome too. 2 – 1’s on Wednesday’s doesn’t hurt either.

***Reviewing this place as a venue*** I came here for a CD release party for a friend of a friend. They had rented out the whole bar as a music venue. The way this bar is set up is pretty cool. There is a stage towards the front of the bar, and then the taps are in the back. It is large enough that everyone was able to move around comfortably. My favorite part of the bar was upstairs. There are bar games and a wall of windows that overlook the breweries. There is a smaller bar upstairs for you to get your beer fix. TBW offers a great variety of beers with many options for your preferences. I think this is a great venue for a party to rent out for a social or a fundraiser. The staff was attentive and great, and it was overall a wonderful experience!

Neat little brew pub, Natchez is a great beer. Not exactly a hardcore beer spot, more mainstream. I bet it’s sweet in the summer.

Had a flight. Beer was great. We liked the basil ryman but they all were all tasty. We got the hot chicken sandwich. It was ok but NOT hot like Nashville hot chicken should be. We got another sandwich with a hard-to-remember name. It had ham, an egg, curry powder, and some type of preserve on it. It was awesome! The ambience was cool and the service was great. Would recommend!

Came in on a Wednesday for 2-for-1. Not a lot of variety of beer which is why I gave them 4 stars. They had a live band which was over by the time we arrived about and hour before closing. Parking can be difficult if your coming on a busier night. Other than that i will definitely be coming again. Great beers!!!

I’m just going to go ahead and update my review(again) — because every time I come here it gets better and better. They have DARTS now! And more TVs! And more patio! And live music! And more beers! Would love to see a few more darker beers on the menu — the stout is fantastic, their season burbon aged is a gem too… would love to try a coffee porter from them! TBW has quickly become our favorite brewery in Nashville.

I came a long way to get here. Maybe ten whole minutes, but to people in Nashville that’s a lot of walking. Being a New Yorker, I saw the town was not a walking city. The place is hidden on the edge of the Gulch, but that doesn’t even explain half my adventure. There was a train stuck along the way, and blocking our path. After two minutes of waiting, we decided we had seen enough action films, hopped on the train and made it to the other side. Eat your heart out James Bond. Was it worth it? You better believe it. Upon entrance there was a band playing some tunes. Definitely something I had not seen in a brewery before. Kudos for that. The staff was super chill and friendly. Got us on a tour right away. Surprising because we heard how so many places sell out by the middle of the day. The beers were tasty and the tour was solid. Stayed around to school some people in Jenga, but ended up getting abused. I was trying too hard to make the really difficult moves. I need to stop trying to show off, never works. Split some food to refuel a bit, after lots and lots of drinking. Hit the spot. Much needed. Thanks Tennessee Brew Works, hopefully people find this gem.

Gorgeous location, with both indoor and outdoor seating. And since we’re in Nashville, live music to listen to in the background was great. Beers were respectable. I got the flight, plus two tasters of their two sours and everything was good. I’m a HUGE stout fan, and the only disappointment of the night was the sweet potato stout. Had this pronounced ashy/burnt quality, and honestly just tasted a little watered down. I definitely didn’t get any sweet potato from it. All in all a great place. This was the only brewery I made it to in Tennessee, and had I had to do it all over again I probably still would have sought this place out. Their stout needs some work, but other than that they’re doing some great stuff. Wish I would have ordered some food, but I wasn’t too hungry.

We tried coming here on a Thursday I believe, but were dismayed to see a «closed for private event» sign on the door. See, we would’ve known that if they had picked up any one of the 7 calls I made prior to leaving my friend’s apartment. We tried again Saturday night and I again called prior to leaving just to make sure it was open to the public, but keeping with my short tradition, they didn’t pickup. Luckily, it was open! We went at night, so we couldn’t tour the brewery, but you get an awesome view either through the windows or from a second story platform inside of the brewery. We each ordered a flight and sat down to enjoy some beer, fried frog legs and sweet potato poutine. The flight was excellent. You can’t go wrong with locally-brewed beer especially when it’s in-house. My personal favorites were the Extra Easy and the Country Roots(description in the photos.) I’ve never been a hops guy, so The Cutaway was tough to swallow. Literally. With an IBU of 70(pretty much double of the aforementioned beers), I just couldn’t do it. It ended up being the last beer to go but mainly because my friend taunted me and said some very not nice things about my manhood. But The Extra Easy. Man oh man that was a beer. The Country Roots was also spectacular as I’ve never had a sweet potato stout before. The frog legs were awesomely cooked with a nice spice to them, but I was not a fan of the sweet potato poutine. Not because it wasn’t cooked well, but because I couldn’t get behind the concept. Some sort of gravy with melted cheese(not curds) with a fried egg on top. And obviously, sweet potato fries. I don’t know, poutine is a traditionally full on savory dish, so the sweet of the fries really messed with my palate. My friends liked it though, so I was alone in that department. Oh we also had wings. They were okay. Obviously the beer is the star of any brewery, and they did not disappoint. I’ll be sure to come back to get the full tour experience next time. Also, the service was a bit… curt. That needs to be worked on.

Out of the local breweries this one has the best menu and options for snacks and non-drinkers alike. I really appreciate that. I do love a good brew, but I like having something special for my non-drinking friends as well and their kombucha is really good! They also have reasonably priced snacks. I adore the seating situation. Tons of outdoor space in the shade, sun and in between, and also a cool fenced off area inside the brewery. On perfect weather days it can get a little crowded but the set up feels pretty fluid and the lines move quickly. As a local brewery they have a few ‘regulars’ on the menu — if you are a stout person try the Sweet Potato Stout, it is amazing! But honestly through sampler trays and sampling from my friends ‘trays’(aka glasses) I’ve never had anything I made stink face too. Thats pretty rare. Parking is actually fairly decent across the street, a little bumpy and tore up, but easier access to park then the other local breweries in the area. m In fact, if you don’t mind a walk, just mosey on down the street/across the tracks to try the others! Ask a local, they will know! ;)

Current(and standing for a year or so) favorite brewery in Nashville. The beers are all next level. All of the flavors are pronounced and they’re mostly full bodied. I’m especially enjoying the barrel aged selection lately. I’ve enjoyed a few nibbles from the menu– frog legs, cheese board, and the bacon wrapped dates. All great! I recommend the dates, but know that it comes with 5, which is an odd choice seeing as most people are going to split them. Even numbers people! The staff has always been super friendly and helpful in a very genuine way. Lately I’ve noticed a lot of new faces that perhaps don’t have the service experience as the seasoned vets. Hopefully they won’t be green for long though.

It was great. The your was interesting if you’re in to tours. The beer was good. The atmosphere was the best part. A couple of Tvs for sports, board games, live music, and yours every hours. At times it seems like there’s a lot going on but it flowed well. Great spot for a good time with friends or a date.

Whenever Sue and I are traveling, one thing we love to do is check out local beer. It really gives you a sense of a place if they have a local beer scene. I don’t know why. It just does. This was the only official brewery we were able to get to on this trip. We did drink a few other local beers while in Nashville, but Tennesse Brew Works was the only place we were able to go to and it did not disappoint. First off, the day we were here was beautiful. It was in the 60’s and that made it the perfect spot to sit outside on their deck and relax with a beer in hand. The place was rather crowded. There is a beer bus in Nashville that takes you around to breweries and I believe we arrived just as a bus dropped off a group here. After a few minutes we were able to get to the bar and order a few beers. I had the Southern Wit(a Belgian style white), Sue had the Natchez(an American Pale Ale with rosemary). With beers on our person we made our way upstairs and to a table outside on the deck. After a few minutes a few people joined us at our table and we struck up a conversation with them. Very friendly atmosphere here. A few of the other tables had some games going(Jenga and such) and it was just very laid back as you would expect from the south. Look for this place. It is a bit off the beaten path in the Gulch, but worth the stop.

Is there anything better than relaxing with a beer outside?! The guys who work here are passionate and so friendly, plus they have some darn good beer! Tennessee Brew Works is one of my favorite places to go in Nashville — so chill and relaxing. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but once you’ve found it you’ll realize it was worth the search. If you know me, you know I love a beer sampler/flight. TBW has a sampler of 5 beers for $ 10. If you take their Saturday tour(offered a few times during the day), it will run you $ 12 but that includes the $ 10 flight. 6 beers is all they have on tap but that’s plenty enough for me. If smaller portions aren’t your thing and and you want a cold, refreshing pint, it can be done for just $ 5. All of their beers were 4.5−6.25% so nothing overly potent, but that’s a good thing when you want to sit for hours having beer after beer on their patio. Ahhhh, their patio. When I think of their patio, I get visions of unicorns jumping over rainbows with tiny kittens on their backs holding trays of brownies with no edges. It’s that good. Since it’s away from all the hustle and bustle of more busy areas in Nashville you don’t have the congestion you may be used to at other spots. Sometimes people watching can be fun but when you need to just get away from it all, the TBW patio is where it’s at. They have live acoustic music! I liked the playlist but once the live music started in the evening — well that’s where it’s at. And if you’re lucky, you’ll go on a night there’s a food truck hanging outside. Other than a random food truck, they offer popcorn for $ 5 but no other food options. I’d think it’s a bring your own food type of establishment. Service was beyond top notch while we were there. Everyone there was so friendly and when we were seated outside, one of the guys actually sat down with us for a bit and chatted Chicago beers. I really enjoyed talking to him — he educated us on the brewery a bit and gave us some Tennessee Brew Works stickers. Beer!!! They have a sweet potato stout! So cool! It was my least favorite of the bunch but still thought it was a solid 3 stars. The extra easy ale, basil ryeman, southern wit and cutaway IPA were all a strong 4 stars. I love a good witbier so Southern Wit was probably my favorite of the night. This was the best craft beer I had in Nashville. This was the best atmosphere during my days in Nashville. This goes down as being top 3 places I went to in Nashville. It’s only open Thursday to Sunday & usually closes at 8pm, except 6pm on Sundays — early closing so plan accordingly.
