Al Pastor and Asada tacos were delicious. The salsas are spicy and flavorful. Carnitas was missing that crispness but still pretty good. I loved their Asada and pollo burritos as well. Can someone update where this truck went?!?

Tried this place for the first time yesterday and it will not be the last. Driving down Wedgewood, I noticed this truck in the parking lot of a beer and cigarettes store. Half a dozen Mexican dudes were lined up at the window. The smell of the cooking food reached my truck window, and I immediately pulled into the lot. In addition to the Mexicans, there were a couple of hipster-looking dudes also milling about. I placed my order quickly enough, but I guess they have only one guy cooking, because I had to wait until all the rest of the orders were handed out. Which is fair, but still… if you see a crowd when you go, expect a wait for actual food to appear. It’s worth the wait. I tried the al pastor tacos. Two tacos with perfectly spiced pork, topped with diced onion and cilantro. A small portion of escabeche and a small cup of two hot sauces(red & green) accompanied the tacos. The pickled carrots, onion and jalapeños were delicious. The salsa verde was pretty typical. The rojo was quite hot, if a bit thin. They sell Mexican sodas, including the Mexican Coca-Cola made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup. The projects are right across 12th and there were at least two shady-looking characters milling about the intersection and parking lot. One was chanting something incoherent to no one in particular. The one on crutches would hobble up to car windows and yell at the occupants of the vehicles. This had no noticeable effect on the patrons or staff and did not diminish my enjoyment of the food, but… if you’re the nervous type, forewarned is forearmed. One woman threatened to run us all over with her car because she was in a hurry to get to the beer and cigarette store.

This unassuming food truck at the corner of 12th and Wedgewood easily has the best mexican food in Nashville. As a native Texan, I’ve been unimpressed by the highly rated mexican joints in town as they all lack the flavor I grew to love back home. I ordered two pastor and two carnitas tacos and am still savoring the spice and heat. Each taco was perfect — tender meat, onion, cilantro and spicy salsa. If you’ve been looking for traditional mexican, this is the spot. I’ll be back regularly.

The best tacos I have had in Nashville. Very yummy if not extraordinary. Super friendly people. I have become a regular after attending a party where they catered. So affordable!
