Super Motel 8

This is the worst room I’ve ever stayed in. Carpets were worn, two of three lights in the room were broken. Breakfast is worthless. Front desk guy was nice though. The room was dirty and the air conditioner was old and ineffective. I didn’t see bugs but I am sure they are there. Pool was empty, fixtures all over the property were broken. We stopped here on a road trip because it was cheap and convenient. I wanted to stay at the holiday inn across the street but it was $ 40 more a night and my cheap boyfriend wouldn’t do it…
Suffice it to say after this experience even his cheap butt didn’t bother with cheap the next night.
Unless you’re truly used to nasty, third world type hotel conditions, spend the extra money for a better place. I’m not that picky, we had stayed in a decent super 8 in Texas the night before and were expecting a similar experience.

Unacceptable even for budget travel.
No deadbolt on the door
Non-​smoking room was smokey
Phone didn’t work
WiFi didn’t work
Moldy ceiling
Sheets too small to cover the mattress
Bad customer service
I changed rooms but found the same problems again. I’m a minamilist when it comes to hotels, but even for a no-​frills traveler, it felt unsafe and unsanitary to the point that I changed my reservation.

I’m not one to write reviews but this place was worthy. Don’t even consider this place! We booked two cheap rooms for our friend’s birthday and this was one of the cheapest available options. When we showed up they only had one room available because apparently making a reservation doesn’t really mean anything. We figured we’d just stuff everyone in and have people sleep on the floor. Yeah right! This hotel clearly has rooms that are filled with storage and garbage and a HUGE bug problem. I’m not picky but within the first minute of inspecting the room I notice roaches in the drawers, bathroom, and mini fridge as well as spider webs throughout the room and blood stains. I’ll weather anything but I’d rather sleep in my car than stay in that room. We were able to get our money back and find another hotel. I didn’t know business like that could stay afloat but it’s probably only possible because of the illegal activity that takes place there.
