I took my first Steadfast class three years ago when they were still in Edgehill Village. Due to the construction there, Gillian moved her operation into a much bigger space more conducive to larger classes over in Germantown. The new studio is lovely, and it instantly makes me feel Zen when I arrive and am setting up for class. I’ve taken a few different classes from Steadfast – Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hatha and community – and none of them have been any less than stellar. I find Steadfast’s instructors to be some of the best in town, not to mention the kindest. But what has really hooked me is the Acro offerings – Steadfast was the first in town to offer AcroYoga and still one of the only fitness studios that does. There’s a basics class every Wednesday that I try to attend and an all-levels class every Thursday night. It’s not only super fun, but a great workout; I’m undoubtedly sore every Thursday morning after I’ve taken the class the previous day. The prices are great, too. I got so tired of paying $ 20 and up for a 60-minute yoga class, and Gillian offers 5-class packages for $ 65, which I’ve found to be the best deal in town(you can use them on 90-minute classes, too). But ultimately, I love this studio because it’s so welcoming; they don’t care if you practice yoga daily or are a first-timer, they’re going to treat you the same and be so happy you’re there. I feel like Steadfast embodies the core philosophy of yoga – unfortunately, other studios in town aren’t on the same page – and they will forever have my loyalty for being such genuinely great people(not to mention, top-notch teachers).

They were inhospitable and sent mixed messages. First off, I purchased a Groupon for 10 classes at Steadfast and True. I realized that the Groupon was going to expire right before I was leaving town to visit family over the holidays. It was impossible for me to get in for a class given how busy I was trying to get ready to leave town, so I messaged the studio asking what to do and if I could simply come in to activate the Groupon without actually attending a class. I was perfectly willing to do this, and the activated classes would have been good for six months after activating the Groupon. I was told that I could activate it after I got back in town, which was AFTER the Groupon’s expiration date. I was assured this was fine and I would receive the full ten classes on the Groupon. Unfortunately, I got sick over the holidays and was unable to return to activate the Groupon. I messaged the studio again and kept them notified of what was happening, particularly since I didn’t just get a little bit sick as I initially thought… I got VERY sick — as in sick for a couple months. This was an extreme extenuating circumstance, and out of my control. Well, once I emailed them again that I was finally cleared for exercise and wanted to come in to activate the Groupon, they sent me a message that told me that I could only use the value of the Groupon, which won’t even buy me 5 classes at their studio!!! This is very upsetting, and I also kind of don’t understand it. While it also isn’t their fault that I got sick and I realize I was asking to come in and activate this Groupon much after the expiration, I DID communicate what was happening. ALSO, they were perfectly willing to activate it after the expiration when I emailed the first time… so why the change? This is a very mixed message. I don’t know if I want to go in if this is how they treat customers, particularly someone who has this kind of extenuating circumstance. It seems a little lacking in empathy. I realize they’re a business and they need to make money, but I don’t want them making it on the back of my illness. I communicated my situation clearly, and if they were willing to activate the Groupon late to begin with because I was going to be on vacation then I sort of don’t understand why they wouldn’t activate it late for a serious illness too. Really don’t get it, and very disappointed.

Best yoga studio in Nashville. Favorite instructors are Gillian, Brett, Brent, Winston & Seth. Very accessible for new and seasoned practitioners alike. Love the vibe, the instructors and the variety of classes available.

I travel a lot for work, and I was very excited at being back in Nashville so I could come here. It did not dissapoint. The first time I came here I took a wall yoga class, this time I just took a basic class, both were amazing. The studio space is gourgeous. I highly recommend taking a class with ashlee if you get the chance. She sings. It’s brillent. I highly recommend this yoga studio as a whole though I will be back when i a in town again.

My sisters and i were in town for my one sister’s bachelorette party. We wanted a little stress relieving exercise in the midst of our crazy trip and this place was just what we needed. The teacher was very friendly and the class was the perfect mix of meditation and exercise. We all left feeling rejuvenated and ready to start our crazy weekend.
