So, everything was going fine with my pedicure at Pro Nails in Bellevue. I picked the«VIP Pedicure,» because more than anything, I needed a foot massage, and this level offered 30 extra minutes of that. So, the guy spent most of the time rubbing my legs. There was a scrub, then a mask, and then lotion, and during those, he mostly rubbed my legs. I wasn’t sure of his steps through the pedicure, and I didn’t want to be rude, so I decided to only bring it up if he started to polish my nails. I started to think that he was focusing the first bit of the massage on my legs, because they usually will wrap your legs in warm towels, so I thought once he did that, he would rub my feet. I thought that, because that’s what’s happened in the past. And by rubbing my feet, I mean the soles of my feet, because that is where all the soreness and tension is. Well, he started to put those disposable flip flops on me, so I quietly and politely asked if he was going to rub my feet. Then he blew up at me, and said, «What have I been doing for the last hour?!» I said, «you were rubbing my legs.» He then went on to tell me I was mistaken, and must not have been paying attention, because he just spent an hour on me, wasting his time. He told me that he doesn’t understand why I keep coming back, because I’m always unhappy. I told him that I hadn’t been there in ages, and that I don’t remember complaining. He said he was the owner, and he remembers his clients. We went back and forth with this. I ended the pedicure before it was finished, and told him I wanted to pay. He told me he wasted his time for an hour, and wouldn’t charge me if I was unhappy. He kept his voice raised, and kept saying he spent an hour wasting his time. We went back and forth with me trying to get him to charge my card, and him refusing unless I said I was happy, all while saying he spent an hour on me. At this point, my emotions took over, and I started crying. Sobbing, actually. Here I am in a place I came to relax, meaning only to be kind and pleasant in my own demeanor, and I’m being treated like dirt. It was like a slap in the face. I kept asking him, «why are you talking to me like this?» I’m crying, all while trying to get him to charge my card, and I finally through clenched teeth and emotion said, «take my card.» He told me to not raise my voice at him. After more back and forth, I finally said I was happy with the service, so he would charge my card, because I was not leaving without paying for the service, despite what was crumbling around me. I even said a few times that I was not leaving until he took my payment. I am completely flabbergasted by what happened. I can only imagine what the other clients thought of the crazy lady crying in the middle of the nail salon. The kind woman who works there offered to rub my feet, but I wasn’t staying. I was sick last week. I’m sore from coughing, wheezing, and sleeping propped up to keep my sinuses less congested. All I was expecting was a relaxing experience. Oddly enough, the client that was sitting beside me came in just a few minutes after me, and was getting the basic pedicure, which was two steps down from the one I was getting, and she was still being worked on when I left, though he kept going on about wasting an hour with me. I sobbed all the way home. I know in the grand scheme of things that this doesn’t matter. But, when all you are asking for is kindness in return for your kindness, and you get treated with unkindness, it can be wearing on the spirit. I think that’s why I was sobbing.

I used to go to another nail salon in Bellevue but it was a little out of my way. Just recently found Pro Nails and I love it! Cindy is so sweet and really does an awesome job on my nails. Her work on a shellac french manicure is beautiful!

I have been coming here every few weeks to get my nails done. I don’t make appointments and have never had a problem just walking in. However the experience differs significantly depending on who you have. Today I had a younger man and based on my experience, next time I will be searching for another Bellevue nail salon where I won’t have to play Russian Roulette. My experience today was less than one star. My nails are some weird combination of rounded and square, I wear my nails round. And the number one problem is that 6 hours later my hands are still throbbing and I have cuts around my nail bed on three different fingers. It was painful as he was doing them as his thumb nail was extremely long and he was digging it into my skin. He got nail polish all over my hands and seemed annoyed and put out when I asked him to take it off and I had to keep pointing out different spots to take off. My nails are not smooth and all day I have been catching them on things. I am extremely disappointed and will be searching for a new nail place.

This is the best nail salon in Nashville. The owner, Cindy, used to work at Sunlight Nails — another Bellevue Nail Salon. She opened Pro Nails almost a year ago and this place is great. It is so clean and modern. Their prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than any of the nail salons in Green Hills. You can get a spa mani/pedi combo for only $ 35. Cindy and Tina are my favorite nail technicians and both do great work. Even though I don’t live in Bellevue anymore, I still drive 30 minutes to Pro Nails because the customer service is worth it. If you’ve never been before, definitely try Pro Nails. You will not be disappointed. They’re even open on Sundays!
