Very disappointed with this top 10 heart hospital. Archaic in design and service. Hours in the ER with my critically ill husband waiting to be admitted, after his cardiologist had him carried there in a wheel chair from his office. People barfing, coughing and sneezing while he sat in the wheelchair with his swollen legs dangling. After admission by triage doc, told to go back out and sit and wait for a bed. No way, Jose! She then found him a bed in ER and they started an IV immediately. When he got a room… double by the way… we soon found how pathetically overworked the nurses are and how understaffed they are. I could not leave him alone because no one would answer his pleas for help in distress! A week of nightmares! We have only been exposed to hospitals in Knoxville, TN which are family friendly… not NCH! They are so frightened by state rules, charge nurses, etc. that the nurses are frayed!

Not really the best place to go if you need medical attention. They are to worried about making the place look nice and not really to worried about hiring enough qualified staff to do patient care. It looks like they want to have all the latest medical gadgets but don’t have the trained staff to operate them. I got the impression that I was just a dollar sign to them and that was about it, very sad ;(
